The $60 annual fee is not waived for the first year, but it might still be worth it

good deal imo. Especially if you like Morton's.

Can I redeem 21k pts for $200 worth of gift cards?

$200 Morton GC. Dang, that's a boatload of table salt.

Really, seems like a good deal. I'm gonna consider this the next time I do some apps.

If you previously received a mileage bonus from a UA card, you won't receive the miles. They ended the gravy train last year.

Even if you cancelled the card?

yes

I've routinely held the airline credit cards for close to a year, cancel them before the fee is due, and then reapply three or more months later. Last fall, I tried again on UA and they sent me a letter, after approving and sending me the card, saying I was not eligible for the bonus miles since I had previously gotten them with another card. Delta instituted this policy a number of years ago. I've had success getting repeated bonuses on AA, NWA, and AMEX membership rewards.

there's also an offer for 50,000 miles but no free year with UA.

Link plz?

got the offer in the mail. also got the 21k + 5k offer with no annual fee for first year in the mail.

www.sendmethecard.com is where you go to use the offer. but you need a personal invitation number and offer code

Got the card today. Once you're logged in, you can get an extra 500 miles for each additional authorized user you add online.

When activating the card, I was also offered credit protection -- usually a bad deal, but since I only got this card for the miles and won't be making any purchases on it but for the initial one, there won't bee any fee for the service and I get a 1,000 mile bonus.

I got the same 50k bonus miles offer today, as well as other version of united visa in the past, though I had a personal account before (closed) and just opened a biz account. I hope to get the biz 25k bonus. Strange enough, there is no place to put UMP # on the biz app, but they linked my UMP account to it, which makes me worrying.

I know UA ended churning some time ago (as another member said last year), but this new 50k bonus is toooooooooo tempting... I am contemplating to try my luck... any opinions?

Apparently they remember which UA account received prior promo miles.

Has anyone been able to get the 50k miles bonus without an invitation code?

alert mods

I assume so, except they keep sending me invitations to apply with bonus miles, while my account was apparently not eligible any more. I am really tempted to try luck with this 50k invitation.
