Trying to find private insurance companies that I can join and that complement unemployment insurance provided by the state?
Trying to find private insurance companies that I can join and that complement unemployment insurance provided by the state?
Obviously must have been a stupid question as I did check Google and follow the rules prior to asking this question, but have been unable to find any. This question was more directed towards individuals that have possibly applied or know insurance companies that offer these services. Since I am not rpoviding anything and asking for advice from strangers, please make sure to mark this topic as red as well.
I'm also researching this topic, but I've been unable to find anything on Google on how to insure your income if you lose your job.
Is anyone aware of a supplemental insurance policy for this? It looks like the State unemployment programs are available, but they have relatively low payouts (up to only $450 / week). I'm looking for a policy that would provide a larger payout.
I was also thinking it might be possible to achieve the same goal through alternative products. For example, I've found some products that could cover your mortgage/credit card payments if you lost your job. Is it possible to pull cash from these credit lines and then submit a claim to have the payments made while you seek employment? Probably not, but I'm looking for creative ways to protect income in the event of a downturn.
you plan on taking a tumble in the near future?

In a worst case scenario, I might be willing to take a fall to keep food on the plate. However, I'm hoping for something less drastic.
I've found lots of disability policies that can cover income if you are unable to work due to an injury, but I'm looking for a policy if you are laid off from work. With many economists predicting a recession, it seems like a relevant topic.
Save up your money, that's your "insurance" right there.
I never heard of someone buying/wanting more unemployment insurance. Even if such a product were offered, it would by its nature be a horrible deal for the purchaser.
