I was wondering which options people are choosing to get the maximum refund for the recent credit card settlement for foreign trnsaction fees.

Option 1 is for a fixed amount of $25
Option 2 is the best I think if you do not have itemized receipt and spent > $2500
Option 3 is for people who has itemised receipt

What options within Option 2 are you choosing and how will the adjucators decide ? It is based on numbers of days spent outside the country, but does spending those days for business trip make any difference than spending those days for personal purpose ? I think we spend our personal card when we go on a personal trip and that may be favorable; otheriwse if we do business trips, we usually would have used company credit cards and hence not eligible for the refund as the company would file the form themselves.

Thanks

I'm guessing that vacation or leisure purpose would result in the most, but your guess is as good as mine which way they will go.

update:
The deadline to file a claim is May 30, 2008. Claims are estimated to be paid in 2009. Refunds will be paid after the Court finally approves the settlement, and approves any award of attorneys' fees, awards to the class representatives, and allocation of the settlement fund among Settlement Damages Class members, and any appeals related to that approval are resolved. It is possible that this could take several months, or, if appeals are filed, several years. You may want to check the website from time to time for updates. The hearing to finally approve the settlement took place before the Hon. Judge William H. Pauley, III on March 31, 2008 at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and a decision from the Court is still pending. We suggest that you periodically visit the settlement website, www.ccfsettlement.com, which will be updated as soon as the Court reaches a decision.
