It all depends on the CL you get if it is worth paying $75 when bank yield are about 3%.

Nice find OP. I applied over the phone as I have no user id for wachovia.com and was approved for $40k instantly.

I've never dealt with Wachovia before, can anyone confirm that you can deposit the convenience checks into a personal checking account and they will count as a BT and not as a cash advance? TIA

Yes. * BUT * they MUST be payable to yourself. If they are payable to "CASH" then they WILL be a cash advance, according to my CSR and personal rep last year when I included them in my BT-arbitage. But, like I said, the check can be payable to yourself or anyone else.
Has anyone applied for both business and personal cards with success?
Also, when doing the personal application, I was asked "what do you want your credit limit to be?" Seemed kinda odd, I said 75K. Didn't think that was too crazy since Chase gave me 70K and I'm making more $ now. My application was sent to "review". Are others getting this question - what do you want your credit limit to be? I coulda said 1 million.

Who is the issuer of the CC? That will be a factor in my case....
Thanks OP!
Since Jan 2007, Wachovia is the issuer themselves. Before that, MBNA.
Thanks..... Good to know, and added to next AOR (Unless I do a single app, just for them NOW).
Suntrust is another I have been watching, waiting for them to BECOME an issuer.... they also used MBNA previously.
I can't go MBNA anymore, because I have a MEGA card with them (over 50K line), and total exposure is about 80K.... using less than 50% right now, and soon to be nearer 25%... but they will not give me more CL.
*NOTE to all - HOWEVER, MBNA is the EASIEST issuer to reallocate lines with.... I just recently created my mega card by rolling 3 cards into one, leaving a SMALL cl on 2 of them.... then turned around and did a LARGE (nearly 30K) BT at 0% for 1 year.... on a very OLD card which I hadn't used for about 2 years. The offer showed up the other day and I JUMPED on it!
I'm nervous. Started my AOR an hour before they opened in the morning. Made it to about my 15th card onlinebefore getting through. Never was asked what limit I wanted, nor given instant approval-- told 7 to 10 days.
Hopefully things will go through and I caught them before their computers warmed up (actually got through 5 min. before they officially opened).

They're not going to give you a credit card without pulling your credit report, no matter how sleepy they or their computers may be.

What is officially opened for this? Are you talking about a local branch's operating hours? Last time I called, I was able to get someone in the credit card dept at odd hours but I think I was told they are 6 am - 10 pm with 1st tier support accepting calls between 8 am - 8 pm (I called the morning I left for Cancun as a backup to my PenFed Visa b/c of the lower foreign conversion fee).
I never said they didn't pull, just that they didn't ask questions others were given where you practiaclly got to name your limit, and concluded the call without any decision they let me in on.
I called at 6:50 a.m. Central (supposedly 10 min. before they opened), and got through.
Called back later last night and apparently got dinged. The whole reason I did my AOR in the morning as opposed to late at night before was to try to minimize the time before Wachovia pulled. As I stated, I called them after submitting about 15 apps, and started on my AOR about 45 min. before calling them.
My advice is to call Wachovia early (or even before) starting a main AOR, as my FICO score before I started was pretty good, and I speculate that they got cold feet by pulling and seeing a good number of recent hits on my report.

I called Wachovia during working hours. It was the last card I applied as the post about the card being found was 2 days after I applied for 6 other cards. They pulled EXP and I had 2 other inquiries on EXP from other 6 cards I applied for 2 days before. I got an instant approval of $40k while on the phone with the rep who took the app.
So maybe if you call durning business hours you get to the credit department and before and after business hours you get to a call center who just takes apps and forwards them to credit department to process.
This is just a hunch I could be totally wrong tho.
I should have mentioned that the initial rep did hand me off to someone in the credit department. Perhaps the main difference was that there is still a big difference in their eyes between a couple of pulls you did, and the orgy of cars that I applied for LOL!
This one really hurt, because I got up an hour early on a Monday, so I had a shot at the fabled $40k line. I'll update if I hear anything substantive on the ding letter I get. Maybe I should still try for the business card!
Anyone from NY applied for this card? Which CRA did Wachovia pull from? They pull TU for me when opening checking account(s), but like with any other bank one is not to expect consistency between different departments ... Getting this at the expense of a TU inq would be very sweet.

I was VERY pleased to see this morning that Wachovia pulled TU for my business card app. I am in NC, YMMV

Would you mind sharing some details (CL granted [and whether you had an option to name the number yourself], HHI [if it was asked], business stats you provided on the app, type of the app. [online/phone])? Thanks!

It was not an instant approval so I am waiting patiently. It was a phone app (I was under the impression that there was no online app). I was asked about what CL I wanted, the CSR was not particularly amused when I replied "a million dollars." HHI reported as 140k, business revenue just 14k. It did seem to be a small problem that I do not have a current banking relationship with Wachovia (but they still took my app and did a credit pull).
They do seem to require that your business has been operating for more than 2 years.
I'll let the thread know what CL I recieved (if I get the card) as soon as I know)

I recently have a bad experience with Wachovia bank. One of its account holder lost his card and reported it to Wachovia bank but Wachovia bank did not close his account. A third party then used the account to purchase something from me on eBay and pay through PayPal. This account holder filed a dispute with Wachovia. Instead of admitting its own fault, Wachovia charged Paypal a service fee to solve this dispute and Paypal passed this fee to me.
I filed a complaint through Better Business Bureau (BBB). Wachovia sent me a letter regarding this matter but gave me a wrong phone number for its Office of president. I called Wachovia's customer service, dispute department, and fraud department and none of them recognize this phone number and none of them knew which number I should dial.
Wachovia kept claiming through BBB that they charged Paypal that fee, not me. Wachovia purposely ignore the fact that its should not charge people any fee because it didn't close that account at the very first stage. Anyway, after several messages, BBB decided to close that claim.
So now the only thing I can do is trying my best to tell people Wachovia bank is dishonest and a bank that you cannot trust!

This might be a little off topic here, I got this credit card, and I have an old wachovia checking account with them with almost nothing in cash. Wachovia card with this offer, does not come under their MBNA card, so it just shows up under the "Banking" online account page.
There is no option to pay this card using another bank account online(atleast not that I can see).
BOA had this issue for a while after their MBNA integration, no third party accounts to pay off the credit card bills.
Something of a pain when you are doing an AOR to transfer to wachovia checking account to pay the bill.

It doesn’t appear that this Wachovia credit card is supported by Yodlee. I haven’t been able to see this account either in the current Moneycenter or the HSBC version.

I have not tested "Wachovia - Credit Card (Visa)". However, keep in mind that you need to use your Wachovia online banking userid & password and it must be visible in Wachovia's online banking. When I first got my card it was not in my online banking list. Just log in and click on Add/Remove Accounts on the right.

Thanks for the tip. Yodlee gives 4 choices to add Wachovia credit cards, and for me Wachovia - Credit Card (Visa) did the trick. I must have picked one of the other 3 before.

Got my business card today. Much to my disappointment the CL is $2,500. While my personal report is spotless (less than 1% util, very strong scores) I am carrying approx 80k in business debt. The strange thing is that my business does not appear in the experian business report search and my Equifax business report was clean as well at last check.
Funny thing is I went to a Wachovia branch to a open a SAVINGS / CHECKING account and towards the end of the meeting with the personal banker a window popped up on her screen for a PREAPPROVAL for a VISA Platinum with a 15,000 CL and a 9.XX% APR! They wanted to know if I would accept or decline. I accepted!
The card has not arrived yet (they say the decision will be mailed, along with the card if the decision is positive, within 10 days from the application) and has not shown up on any of the credit reports (applied on 04/21). However, following CycloneFW's instructions I was able to add the card to Wachovia online account and see $15K CL. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed. I would've expected something something above $20K, given 780 PM123 FAKO and $23-29K CL CCS with Chase, BOA and AMEX. Has anyone tried CLI on this one yet (e.g., when activating)?
