anyone know what the magic cut off number is for Chase personal cards?
I have 5 with them now... should I close the youngest one with smallest balance (like 1K) BEFORE applying for another one?

FW Credit stuff 101
#1. Never close your Oldest card.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again... The magic number is ... 6.023 x 10ⁿ (, n=23)

right, I get that.
I have 6. HHI 138K.
I had 5 as well before I applied for the Freedom PLUS Card. Applied online and got a call from Chase a week later saying I had too many cards, gave them my oldest card to consolidate but he said he couldn't do it. Approved me for a sixth card and said to call back when I get the new card in the mail to close out my oldest card (pffffffft).
Now I have 6 - all personal
I have nine(9) Chase cards: five(5) business and four(4) personal.
