While reading up on ways to save some money, I stumbled upon an NPR discussion of private mortgage insurance. I have PMI on my home loan, and it was included into my monthly payments when I got my mortgage (through Wells, if it matters). I have no interest in paying anything more than the bare minimum for mortgage that protects the lender since I'm in no danger of defaulting or even missing payments. Can anyone point me to a company that sells PMI on the cheap?

Thanks.

get rid of it.
once you have more than 20% equity in the home, you can request Wells to remove it.
