I received this offer in the mail this week and was wondering about something I saw posted on Flyertalk. One guy over there said that it was a good offer "if you don't spend over $50k/year". Is there a limit on the # of rewards points you can earn in a year? I currently have a HHonors AMEX card and have my fill over over 800,000 HHonors points. It's time to earn something else... I couldn't find it anywhere in the terms for the card or the MR program. |

I already have 4 AMEX cards. I used to have this gold card and recieved the 25,000 pts before. I want to do this again, but I am concerned about adverse action. Its risky. |

I read that American Express indeed does report business cards to credit bureaus if you apply under sole proprietorship. Since you are using your SSN as the tax ID it will hit. Anyone know this for sure? Also i didnt use my name for my business name, i used [Last Name] [Associates]. Will this be a problem also? |

Applied late May, 5K points posted a few days ago, the rest of 20K posted today, right after I reached the $1K threshold (half was made using the JQ Adams dollar coins from the Mint). Transfer to FF miles was a breeze, it cost me $12.50. Thanks OP! |

An easy way to spend the $1,000 is buy $1,000 of no-free travelers checks at an AX travelers office. You can do that once a month |

Is the deal dead? I can't find any reference to the extra 20,000 points in any of the app links. |

My year is up in 10 days. I called to cancel and was offered a $40 loyalty credit if I stay + 10,000 pts = $100 gift card for first year renewal. I am not sure if this is good or not, considering that keeping it one more year costs $125. What do you think? Should I cancel it? |

What do you think? Should I cancel it? Take the bonus. Spend it. Close the account before you have to pay the fee. |

You get the $40 right away (I only got $30!), but the 10,000 points you get when the fee hits, is what I understood them to tell me, so the only thing you can get immediately is the $40. So if you immediately cancel, you only get the $40. Now, there are 10 days left, why not go around again? I called once, got $30, called again, got 5000 points. I have another 5000 points that are going to hit sometime or other because I signed up for extended pay, and I get the 10,000 points anniversary bonus I guess it is. So I decided to keep it because I feel I come out ahead, I have 15000 points that are going to hit soon in addition to the 5000 which I could have converted right away. And if you keep it, you can try the same trick as many times as you dare over the course of the year. |

Is there anyway to change the MR points to AAdvantage points for American Airlines? If not, what airlines can I use 25K MR points to get a round trip on? Thanks |

You can transfer them to Mexicana, and redeem those for an American Airlines ticket. You can do the same with Iberia (a new member). |

Does anyone know if they prorate their Annual fee if you cancel in say 1 month after your renewal? I got the 10k bonus points, and want to use them for hilton honors, but i really dont want to do it at a cost of $125. When I canceled my Starwoods card they prorated the annual fee, so I figured they would do the same. |

Yes, they pro-rate it. Also, if you are a heavy user, they will credit your statement with the equivalent of the annual fee (almost like waiving it). |

I called to cancele, and they didn't offer me any cash to keep the account open. Neither $30 nor $40. They only bonus they offered is 1,000 points plus another 10,000 if I do renew the account. Does anybody else have no luck neither? Clearly it is not worth to pay $125 for 10,000 points. |
