New Inquiry on CR with no merit? Archived From: Finance

I just received a new inquiry from LANDSAFE CRT which I searched on Google and found it was from a countrywide subsidiary for Real Estate closing service.

Now I don't even know how they got my information and why they would inquiry my report. I didn't search for a house or anything like that.

Is this normal where people just randomly open your credit report?

is it a hard or soft pull?

If it's a soft pull, they are just looking for targeted marking opportunities (and it does not impact your FICO at all). Soft pulls will be labeled as 'promo' or in a section that says 'only you can see....' No need to worry about these.

If it's a hard pull, there may be reason for concern.
