As a proud FWF'er, my Rebate check will almost exactly pay for the $640 I owed the government on April 15th.

Similarly, my rebate check has gone back to the government in the form of income tax. Sux...

Tax free? Isn't the limit $10 or something stupid before you have to report it? If they can give Blade/Simon Phoenix/Sidney Deane 3 years, they can give it to you, too.

All the money is pretax though, meaning at the end of the year when we report it we will then have to pay taxes. I always thought you had to make 500 before you had to report it, but I got tax forms for 100 dollar bonuses this time around from every bank. even 16.13 from a small interest payment from a bank I never used.

The bank doesn't have to issue you a 1099 unless it's over $600. But you are required to report all your income regardless if you get a 1099 or not.

whoo hoo

I have 0% debt to pay off and due to fear of adverse action I'd rather not take it from my savings account.

Yeah, my stimulus check will almost cover the $700 I had to pay the state of Maryland. At least I got a small refund from the Federales.

And I thought the braggarts were the ones who were bragging about receiving a rebate check.

I mean, really. Why give money to poors? They'll just do something stupid like pay off their credit cards. If you give money to someone who doesn't need it and say, "Be a good American and blow this to stimulate the economy," he'd definitely find something stimulating to do with it.

Or he had insufficient tax liability.

Or his milkshake (shake) is better than yours,
he'd teach you (shake) but he'd have to charge.

Banks have to send you a 1099 if they paid you $10 or more in interest for the year.
