I just received a Chase Freedom credit card and I'd like to set it up to pay my bills (car, car insurance, phone, eBay fees, school loan, etc) with the card. Chase's credit card doesn't have a dedicated bill pay manager like my bank account's (Wells Fargo) but it did offer the services of Billeo. I checked it out and it looks good, but I'm concerned about using a third party service.

It does look like I'll be able to pay ALL my bills from Billeo with the Chase Freedom credit card, can anyone confirm this? Or do some bills require an actual deposit account to be used?

The Billeo site's address starts something like "http://visa.billeo..." Is Billeo VISA's product? This might make me more comfortable using the service.

I'd be hesitant too. I only use my own banks bill payment service. Giving a corporation not FDIC insured or regulated under bank laws is scary, to me at least.

Hm... so I signed up and Billeo isn't what I thought it'd be. I thought it would centralize all my payments, allowing me to set up accounts and paying those bills through Billeo. But it looks like Billeo just organizes everything together but I still have to log into the payee's website.

Bump for current interest

I just signed up and it looks like Billeo just helps you find and keep track of paying companies who already accept credit cards as payments. So, depending on the company, you may not be able to pay ALL the bills.

It is not like Checkfree or your bank's bill payment system. The reason is that pretty much any company is happy to take ACH payment through Checkfree or bank. The fees are very small for such transactions. So, the ACH payment system is well organized and centralized. Credit card payment system is not as popular due to high fees. Plus each company makes a separate deal with credit card processors. Still, Billeo seems more convenient than remembering each company site, login info and when bills are due.
