It's Canseco.
And he can cry me a $%@! river.
Jose Canseco said:People have to understand that $35 million, you're paying the government 41 percent. That leaves you with about $17 or $18 million, not even. Then you're taking care of your whole family.
I could stick $18 million in the bank and support my family and one or two others off the interest with no problems.
as a loyal FWF member and former fan (growing up) of Canseco I am torn over this article
...actually, no I'm not. This guy has become a supreme douchebag.
Agreed. I remember when he was the best player in baseball, hands down, but he's just a cartoon now. Good article on him, though. He's an idiot.
"People have to understand that $35 million, you're paying the government 41 percent. That leaves you with about $17 or $18 million, not even"
Obviously basic arithmetic is not a prereq. for playing major league baseball.
The article is just outrageous. I hope the banks go after every penny he has to recoup their losses.
He added that a couple of divorces cost him $7 million or $8 million.
Thats the alarming part. These women are surely entitled to his money... yeah. Prenups.
Remember, purchase money mortgages in CA are non-recourse, so all a lender can do is try to make sure the equity doesn't go negative.
If this site is correct, then his address is 18011 Karen Dr, Encino, CA 91316. You can see the exterior of his house on google streetview.
If you have an MLS for the area, you can pics of the inside from previous listings. I couldn't find when or how much he purchased it for. Just a few expired listings.
Edit: from Zillow

He will need to write anothe book on steroids. Actually, he WAS right about the roids. Give him that much. The real douchebag is Roger Clemons. First its the roids, now its his 15 year old girlfrind. Good Bye hall of fame.

if canseco is paying 41%, he needs to hire a different accountant. what's the average for that level of income after all the magic write offs and deductions, 12-15%?

Some business people get away with some tricky things but don't kid yourself into the idea that most rich people don't pay a higher % of there income in taxes. It's a liberal fantasy conspiracy.

LOL, article made me feel a little better about this debacle.
Jose is almost certainly going to end up homeless, especially when the effects of his drug use come to fruition... On an unrelated matter, his autobiographical kung fu movie is going to be off the hook (I hope Michael Bay directs)!!
