I've only heard of the occasional auto-increase based on activity, history, etc. These don't seem common for people who have the profile of an AORer. Ok ill probably just close them today and consolidate the lines to my Biz card. I figured Chase wouldn't be so eager to give out online or over the phone CLIs (like BoA does). Ironically Chase has raised my wife's credit lines by 2k on a few of her cards since the AOR. |

Ok I called Chase business. Asked the guy to close the two personal Chase cards I had and move the lines over the the business card. I also had him close the other Chase business card I have that was originally a United card that I had them convert to Freedom. I figured no reason keeping a business card open with a $1000 limit. He moved that $1000 limit over as well. He was able to see all my credit cards just by last four digits. Interesting. So lets cross fingers and hope Chase doesn't come down with any AA. So far I have been lucky to avoid it. This business card I have should now have a 71k line on it. Currently has a 47k balance. ETA: I will probably have my wife do the same. Close down an extra business $1000 limit card she has and a Sony Personal card with a $500 limit. No reason keeping these open. The Chase business CSRs are extremely helpful. |

So I am starting to wonder if it would be better off to start with the Citi Associated Bank card instead of the 15k Citi Professional Card. Citi Associated Bank The only reason I am considering this over the Professional is the fact that people in that thread are getting tons of insta-approvals. One guy even reported getting a 50k limit! Now i'm not sure. The goal is to try to score an instant approval to determine my relationship with Citi. But it's tough to pass up 15k thank you points. I guess if I get approved for this card, I can apply for the Professional AND the Citi Business. I got approved for three new Citi cards on my AOR1.0 anyways (as did my Wife). |

My Chase business line now shows a 71k limit online. I closed two personal cards and one biz all with small limits. Very nice. Only took a Chase CSR 24 hours to do this (they originally said around 3 business days). Gonna have the wife do the same on Friday. She has a second Biz line, and an Amazon, Sony, and some other mystery line all with low limits she can consolidate. |

Ok question for all the experts. *IN CASE* Citi doesn't give me new credit... I would like to try to get another card with National City. Both me and my wife have credit cards with them with 15k limits each. I don't think re-allocation or consolidation works with these guys right? So is it worth cancelling the Lifestyle VISA with them and then reapplying? I won't bother doing this if I get cards from Citi since I want to try to keep my credit report from personal debt. But if Citi is gonna say no... I will obviously get more aggressive and pursue cards with Discover and Nat City. |

Oh and one other question. Lets say I do apply for a Nat City card and get approved. What are the odds I can request a nice fat balance transfer to pay off my wife's Barclays Biz card? I think it's worth it to try with this bank (NatCity) and Barclays because if the BT "fails"... what's the worst that's going to happen? My wife's AOR will be happening approximately a month after mine, so this Barclays card will still have a balance on it. And Nat City requires BTs to be done to another CC so it might be worth to try. |

I used a HELOC to recieve my Nat City BT last fall. And if you give them a valid CC#, they will transfer the money - it wont matter who's name is on the receiving CC. |

My HELOC is currently frozen so I can't use it. That is unless I want to risk sending a huge payment to it and generating a credit balance and then trying to transfer the credit balance off it to my checking. Don't think that's the best idea. But if I can apply for a NatCity card and pay off my wife's Bank Atlantic with the BT that would be ideal. |

So we get a call from Chase today for my wife. She said she was offered a pre-approved mastercard and asked me if she should have taken it. I said no since I didn't want to bother acting as the proxy asking her how high the limit would have been, etc. But if they are offering her credit with our balances still showing, our next AOR should turn out pretty good. Chase already raised her credit lines a few months after the AOR, with all balances showing on her CR which baffled me. |

Then I wonder why I read people here were saying they had to wait for something from them. Hmmmm..... maybe I am just having a case of the Monday's. |

Got an email for the WAMU ESPN visa with a 6mo BT offer. Not sure what the terms are. I already have a card with them with 30k limit so this probably isn't worth bothering to apply for. Might just be best to keep the WAMU 30k card for overall utilization. The more I am thinking about this AOR and the more I see AA being the new norm based on recent threads here, I am probably going to keep this AOR real simple. I will probably just stick to the major money maker banks (Citi, Chase, Barclays, BoA). From what I remember from AOR 1.0 I cannot get a US Bank card in my state of NY. Ill also probably start a rolling thunder strategy to minimize the amount of "bunched up" inquiries. It seems like Banks take more AA against lots of new inquiries and accounts at once over high balances. Plus with biz balances i can shield most of the balances on my CR anyways (with just BoA showing). If i get a good rolling thunder strategy i can probably loosen up a bit and throw a Discover or NatCity app in there. What you guys think? Also anyone open to starting a little friendly wager? What are the odds I get approved for a Citi card after I had AA taken on my back last December? |

That's strange because in September of 2007 I applied for a US Bank Platinum Visa (0% 12mo no fee) and I got a declined letter stating the reason was "no point of presence in NYS".

Here's a question for all the moneymakers out there. I currently have a personal BOA platinum plus card. Got this on AOR1.0 and this card had an uncapped BT offer (used for limit). I was going to ask for a soft CLI increase over the internet on this card before AOR2.0. Will BOA approve me for another one of these cards? The one with the 0 BT offer? |

OK people... please help me devise a rolling thunder strategy. Lets assume Citi approves me for new cards (even with prior AA). Because if Citi gives me the instant decline due to poor relationship with bank it probably doesnt pay to be passive with this AOR anyways. The key is to prevent too many new accounts and hide inquiries. I can apply for the following types of cards: Citi Associated Personal Chase Business BOA Platinum Plus Barclays Bank Atlantic Citi Biz TYN (if i get instant approval on Citi Assoc) Hard CLI for Discover Personal to try to get 24k limit That gives me two new accounts showing on CR and maybe 6 new inquiries. That Shouldn't be enough to land AA I hope. Maybe for the next month or two i can work on b* and get my lines set up with these initial cards. I can use my BOA card to launder BT money from Bank Atlantic (while doing it so BT payments happen before statement ends to avoid balance showing on CR). I can also use BOA to pay off my Advanta Cards. I can get my Chase BT money and Citi Biz money as well on BIZ. Then after b* say 2-3 months later (with 0 personal debit showing) i can apply for these cards: Nat City Personal Advanta Biz (I cant close my aor1.0 Advanta cards any sooner as I have this money invested in a home improvement project). Then hopefully a few months later I can apply for. US Bank Personal Discover card (whatever good app is out there) AMEX (hopefully get a targetted offer by then) Thoughts?

And if you've reached the max global limit allowed, they'll let you close the old one (or just reallocate part of the limit) to establish the new one. I've found BofA to be one of the best in this regard. |

In any "rolling thunder" strategy I wouldn't be too dependent on bumpage. Citibank has switched to EX in many areas (or CA, anyway), and EQ is increasingly hard to bump. |
