Ok... I submitted online disputes with EQ and TU to get remaining balances to 0. I think with EX you have to first get a paper report with them. I got one a month or two ago. Not sure how long ago it was, gonna try to dispute that tonight. Hopefully the report is still good.

I am not sure now how I am going to handle this. I am hoping that Chase will eventually offer a capped Biz card. So the goal here is to keep my personal credit report clean.

When my balances hit 0, I am going to apply for:

Citi Biz
BOA Personal
Juniper Biz

The BOA card updates quickly. So if Chase ever comes out with a good BT offer, I can temporarially pay down BOA which will update the report quickly, then apply for the Chase card and repull the money out of BOA with the no fee 0%.

If Citi approves me, I may apply for a second Citi card to get more CL. Citi may very well decline me since they took prior AA.

I may also apply for the USBank card. But again this is personal and I don't want to load up my personal CR too high in hopes Chase will come around. I have a 72k limit with my Chase biz card. It absolutely kills me there are no good offers with Chase right now.

I eventually want to start a rolling thunder strategy. In a few months i'll probably apply for Advanta and others.

Ok I was able to dispute my balances for my remaining two cards all online. Found the copy of my experian report i had sent to me in August so I had a report number ready to go.

Hopefully these balances will get to 0 quick.

Keep that report number - you can use it to access your EXP report indefinately (and it keeps updating).

alert mods

Ok the disputing is starting to work. My TU score is up to 784.

Just about ready to start this. Probably Monday. Now I just need to come up with an app list. Any suggestions? I really want to try to use that Chase 71k Biz card but who knows. Does Chase ever send out targetted Biz offers?

Also does anyone know if an online BoA CLI application will approve if EX is frozen?

alert mods

So I was insanely bored waiting for my balances to go to zero. That could lead to problems.

I decided to try a CLI with my BOA NEA card. Had a 25,500 limit. Figured let me push it to 35,000. I was still showing an 8500 balance on my Experian that hasn't come off yet (with EXP frozen).

Got the 5-7 day answer online. But I checked again an hour later... credit limit now 35k!

Woohoo... I freakin' love BOA.

alert mods

Ok all my balances are reporting zero so I decided to apply for the Citi Professional Card to see if I got an insta-decline due to previous AA with them.

I got the 30 day deferred message. So I need datapoints. Is this typical practice for Citi after AA? Do they usually defer or can they just decline you by mail with the "declined due to prior existing relationship with bank" message.

My EXP is frozen and it seems like Citi likes to pull either EQ or EX depending on location. I am in NYS.

Thoughts? This is the only app I submitted so far.

alert mods

Ok I called Citi. They tried to pull Experian due to my locale (New York State).

I spoke to one of the credit ninjas in applications and at first she said she couldn't process the applications unless i unfroze the account. So I offered the pin to her and at first she questioned it. She put me on hold then took the pin and tried to submit the application. She said she still couldn't pull it, even with the pin.

So I am trying to figure out what would be best practice here. Might be worth just paying to unfreeze Experian since I have to unfreeze it for Bank of America anyways. What do you guys think?

I'll be pissed off if I go through the trouble of unfreezing this and then they come back and say I am insta-declined due to prior relationship with the bank. They can decline me for that reason without pulling a report.

alert mods

So I decided to call Citi back in hopes of getting a different CSR. Got the same woman! Duh what are the chances?

Anyways... they tried using the PIN again and it was a no-go. Couldn't pull a report. She is claiming its more or less policy that the EXP needs to be unblocked for a day or two for them to approve credit.

So I think what I am going to do is apply for my Barclays Biz card today, along with US Bank, NatCity, and Discover Biz.

Then tomorrow i'll unfreeze EXP and apply for Citi BUSINESS and the BOA card. If by some miracle I get an instant approval for the Citi Business or I get a deferred, i'll call up Citi and ask them if they got the CR and if they did i'll try to get the same EXP CR used for both the Biz card and the Prof card. In fact if I get approved for both and she is willing to consolidate both cards maybe i'll do that at application (leaving 1000k limit on the Professional so I can get the 15k TYPs).

We'll see.

alert mods

Ok I started the mini-AOR (if you even want to call this an AOR).

I figured let me get my TU and EQ applications out of the way since we know Citi and BOA will want EX reports.

Juniper Biz - Instant Declined / response in mail (probably due to sufficient credit with Barclays - will call tomorrow)

US Bank Bull Riders - Instant Declined / response in mail (I called wondering what was up, credit ninja said they tried to pull TU and TU said "no credit report available". HUH? Ninja offered to pull Equifax since I told him EXP was frozen. He pulls EQ successfully and says "everything looks good you will get answer in a week or two pending verification.")

National City Quilters - Deferred (I will call them tomorrow to try to get my current NatCity Lifespring reallocated to this card - we'll see)

That's all for now. I'll probably unfreeze EXP tonight and apply for Citi and BOA tomorrow. Don't want to get too aggressive with this if Citi is willing to approve me.

alert mods

So I decided to call BOA this evening to try to get one of my other two personal cards with $500 limits CLIed. I spoke to one woman who took down the info (HHI and all that good stuff) then transfered me to someone else.

Waited on hold forever. Long story short she transferred me to retentions. He says he will have to pull a CR to decide if I can up my other credit card. Wanted to know why my 35k limit with my NEA wasn't enough. I just said I want to up this or just cancel it.

He said they normally pull EXP... I told him mine is frozen. He said no problem I can pull a TU or an EQ. So I thought about it and said... "let me think about it" and i'll call back. Got the direct number to retentions (888-780-7784).

So is an inquiry to TU or EQ worth a possible CLI? I tried to go from $500 to $10,000 limit on this card. I don't want to get a CLI with this and then get declined for the platinum plus 0% card.

Could be a freeze issue too.

As for BofA, I don't, in general, ever recommend a CLI request that triggers a hard, especially on the leading edge of an AOR. Too much of a hit for too little potential gain.

Yeah that's what my gut was saying which is why I didn't go ahead with it. I'll have answers about Barclays tomorrow when I call them.

I trust you read my recent experiences with a frozen EXP? I'd submit the rest of your apps, then call again to offer your PIN (I used the "I know my report is frozen, and I've been trying to find someone to give my PIN to so you can access it and process my application, but no one seems to know how" line right off the bat, no faking ignorance). Both Citi and BofA will pull an alternate (both pulled TU for me, also in NY), no need to unfreeze.

Definitely read your thread. I'll call again tomorrow. Let me ask you one other question. If you go through the phone to unfreeze experian, does it take effect immediately?

Dont know, didnt have to. But my impression was, yes (you should be able to do it online, too).

Ok called Barclays credit dept. I explained the situation and CSR transferred me to business analyst. The Business Analyst went over the stuff in my credit application and is moving 40,000 over from the Nat Parks card to the Juniper Biz card. Piece of cake. I wanted to leave 500 on the Nat Parks card but the CSR came back and said to leave $1000 so I obviously wasn't going to argue. Nat Parks card now has $1000 limit. Thank you jackcrawfish.

When I applied for the Juniper Biz card, I was actually 10 day deferred by mail. But I checked the online status today and got the declined (sufficient credit with Barclays) message.

alert mods

Ok I applied for a Discover CashBack Business card. Got a 30 day deferral. I am expecting Discover to bitch that I already have a business card with them and i'll try to consolidate the line to this card. 12mo 0% BT 75max. $100 cash bonus after $1000 in purchases within the first 90 days.

I took this offer over the Discover More camera offer. Don't want any more new personal accounts on my report.

alert mods

Ok after thinking about what to do with EXP and Citi/BOA I decided to just pay the $6 bucks to unfreeze it for 7 days. Since I am really not applying for too many cards it just isn't worth jerking around with pin numbers.

When I unfroze Experian, I noticed on Chase ID Protection that there was still a freakin 9900 balance from my old Nat City card that didn't update on the credit report. Duh. I decided to say F-It and continue applying since my first AOR was great showing a 24k balance on one card.

So I applied for the BOA Plat Plus card. 30 day deferral.

Called Bank Of America shortly afterwards. They transfered me to a credit ninja. Saw new 35k limit on NEA card (CLIed from 25k last week).

Anyways she offered 10k limit on Platinum Plus card, even though she said I was pretty high credit limit with BOA currently. Moved 34,500 from NEA. New BOA Plat Plus card now has 45k limit. I did a 28k BT to my wife's Bank Atlantic Biz card that I need to pay off for her AOR. Hopefully it goes through. I think they are mailing a check because they asked for the address on the statement so it shouldn't be an issue.

Working with Citi right now about the applications. Ok here's the deal with Citi.

Yesterday I applied for the Professional and got deferred. Called and said they couldn't get EXP report even with Pin. Said to unfreeze. I said i'd think about it.

So after unfreezing this morning I applied for the Biz TYN card since this is the card I wanted anyways. Got the 30 day deferral by mail message again.

So I called Biz applications. They said they got the EXP report. Biz application is now with "Underwriting" pending review.

I then decided to call personal applications to see if I could get that EXP report used for the Professional application. The personal rep said she can't see Biz apps. So she transferred me back to Biz. I spoke to the Biz ninja (different person). She said she can't use the same EXP report on the Professional application that was used with the Biz I made online. She asked if I wanted to pull another report for the Professional.

I thought about it for a while, wondered if I wanted to take another EXP hit (that would be inquiry number 15 with 10 of them more than a year old). I said F-it go ahead. I figured I am more or less done with my applications, I wanted to see if I could get an instant approval. She put me on hold forever, comes back and says she can't pull EXP (even with it unfrozen). They must be messing something up so she asked if my other two bureaus were unblocked. She offered to pull EQ instead for the Professional application since they already had my EX report. I said fine. She got EQ and said that is going to underwriting as well, should know in a week.

So I guess we will see if these get approved. If they don't oh well I suppose, not much I could do. Maybe they didn't have the balls to tell me over the phone I was declined due to prior relationship with bank?

At least I know if these get insta-declined I won't bother with Citi on my wife's AOR.

alert mods

So I checked my Discover application online and it says my application has been "cancelled". WTF is up with that? Going to have to check to see if they pulled a CR.

Will call tomorrow. Maybe i'll get them to open it if I cancel my other biz card. Stingy bastards.

alert mods

Just got off the phone with Discover. They said applications for a second Biz card get automatically cancelled. One biz card per person's SSN or TIN. You can have up to three total cards with Discover (2 personal + 1 biz, or 3 personal).

But he said he would have no problem opening a new biz card if I cancelled the other one. He even went ahead and told me the great benefits of the new card (0% intro rate ).

So I asked him what limit he can hook me up with on the new card. I threw out 20k. He said he will submit it to underwriting and they will approve me for what they can. He closed my Miles Biz card that had a 10k limit and I also had him close my Miles personal card that had a 1k limit. So the new biz card will have at least 11k. We'll see what I get.

He told me they pulled TU so hopefully i'll get a good limit since that is my strongest bureau.
