It looks like they ship via FedEx - and they'll reimburse you if it never arrives.
Orders are limited to two boxes ($500) per President.
Are there more Presidents available besides JQA? But we are going to have a new president this Nov, right? That is correct, but seeing how JQA is not our current president, I have no idea the relevance of this statement... |

Looks like Thomas Jefferson coins (2008 Scheduled Products Listing) should be available since June 10. I'm curious if it's only Adams dollars they have an excess of ... |

I'd certainly consider using more, but I use so darn little cash. Just a word of advice. When the First Spouse Gold coins came out, all the speculators attempted to get as many as they could due to low mintage and anticipated demand. The US Mint's web site accepted any and all orders, but over the course of a week, the duplicate orders were manually cancelled and some had all their orders cancelled. (of course the irony is that there was no demand and speculators lost a fortune on those coins selling them for melt value). If one were to place multiple orders, I'd wait until you have a FedEx tracking number before placing a second order. |

You order $500 then go to your local bank and deposit the coins and get a $500 credit into your checking account. There is no shipping fee's or cash advance fee's so it cost you $500 to buy them. So what is your loss? Your time and gas of going to the bank but if you are like me you goto the bank 2-3x a week anyways so it costs you nothing extra to deposit these coins when you are already there anyways. Unless you have a ghetto bank account most of mid tier checking account do not charge to count coins so there is no issue as that will cost you nothing either. |

In for $500, the big questions are A) how quick they ship since they charge your card right away. and B) Since you can pay your BOA bill at the branch if they will complain about the rolls of $1 coins. |

dolmar said:.....I am lost how do you lose money on these coins? ...... On the $1 coins in my OP, you don't lose money. On the First Spouse GOLD coins, you pay about 130% to 150% of melt value for the coin. When Martha Washington and Abigail Adams came out, a ton of speculators tried to buy up all 40,000 coins of each issue. For a couple weeks they actually got the price up to $1500 each on eBay, then demand disappeared as only a few ACTUAL collectors wanted them, and the price fell to below melt value. To date, I believe SilverTowne already melted some 10,000 of them. While a few made a profit, most figured out how to lose money on gold while the price of gold was skyrocketing to new highs. The ones who had all their orders cancelled were probably grateful in the end. |
