At the sign up page: "Others Have Also Selected..." a button indicates to "Upgrade My Order"... Monitoring Monitor your report at all 3 credit reporting agencies - Upgrade to 3-in-1 Monitoring. (it's the Equifax Credit Watch™ Gold with 3-in-1 Monitoring product.)
BEWARE:
When I added that 3 in 1 service, the 90 trial went away and I would have been billed immediately for $76.45.
I hit the back button and continued processing the "free 90 days order"
Then the confirmation screen indicated I did in fact order the Equifax Credit Watch™ Gold with 3-in-1 Monitoring product for $76.45 immediately billable.

This is awesome, I can actually see softs and no guess about choppage. But I don't think it will work for b*. Anyone?
101 softs with guesstimate 15 days until choppage. 3 services = 45 more softs, unless a daily pull on EQ Gold works for b*.
Anyone know if this is 24 hours + 1 minute?

Can save my free report for later this year. It is silly to use your free report at all. Why not just cite adverse action. Why give them an extra 15 days to investigate

As of now you will need four sevices to get your B*.Anyone know if this is 24 hours + 1 minute?Yes, 24+1.

Maybe I'm just new, could someone define b*, c*, and choppage? And recently I opened a penfed cc so my EQ took a dip. On other hand, I goodwilled CapOne to have all 30 day lates removed from my report so this will be a useful tool. Will use in a month. Thanks OP!
b = bumpage, bumping credit inquiries off your report c = choppage, your credit file gets too many inquiries and your file is split.

I have 1 inquiry on Equifax so I wanted this service at this price for ID theft. They will chop the heck out of your file if you get this EQ product so if you are pulling a trimerge everyday this will hurt EQ B.

Please provide something more concrete if readily available. Thanks in advance, cashonlyplease (others for that matter).
FWIW, I did in fact search. The following threads to be exact......>
Does anyone want to venture a guess as to how long this offer will be available? I have an AOR coming up in 2-3 months, so I'd like to sign up for this later rather than sooner.

cn47- What do you mean about giving them extra days to investigate? Wouldn't using the free annual report also be one more soft towards B*? Also, are there any legal implications of citing AA if none really occurred?

Can anyone confirm, does a new soft hit show up every today you update and do the soft inquiries stack up on your report?

Thank you Rorer: when using it seems to to only give 30 days free trial??????????
If you don't like the service, cancel within 30 days and you will be charged nothing
Does anyone know if you can easily cancel online?

chocula said: c = choppage, your credit file gets too many inquiries and your file is split. I thought that was splitage, and choppage was where your softs get removed before they B* an inquiry...I could be wrong on this.
Also, what are people doing if the report gets split...do they request the be merged back?

So is the most you will get from cwg is a single soft hit that will keep replacing itself with a new date every time you update? If so then how does it cause b*?

I stand corrected, this does not help with b*. When you update your report the old soft inquire gets replaced. I am not sure why some are reporting only a 30 day free trial. The link still shows 90 days.

Is this something you order directly from Equifax? then you ought to read the warnings reached from this thread.
ThursdaysChild said: Is this something you order directly from Equifax? then you ought to read the warnings reached from this thread.Green for the added information. Caveat Emptor.
My guess is there are specific security issues with each of the individual user pc's/mac's.
Perhaps I am too trusting but I believe that simply because you can tie a few common threads together (equifx product=buybooks fraud), that does not necessarily validate a definitive reason for the fraudulent charge.

I have located another source (Remember what Reagan said, "trust but verify"). The independent source indicates EQ chops files if enrolled in one of their services. Upon discovering this, I've canceled my EQ service.
WalletMan warns that, while bumpage is fairly effective when done right, it can lead to problems if you don’t know what you’re doing. “Some credit reporting services like Equifax’s Credit Watch will cut off your soft inquiries just before you get to the level needed for bumpage. They call that ‘choppage’.”
I’ve said this before, and here it is again, with Equifax, bumping isn’t necessary and takes for ever. All you’ve to do is call them @ 800-846-5279 and tell ‘em the inquiries that are bothering you are all supposed to be soft inquiries. Their rep will delete all of them within 48 – 72 hours with no questions asked and mail you a free report confirming said deletions.
edit: I called provided a recent confirmation number from an EQ report... rep said I need to contact credit grantor. YMMV

Has anyone ever reported that c* has stopped once they cancelled their EQ product? I have not seen one!
The following soft inquiry dates are from June 19 2008 and from June 23 2008 reports received as part of balance dispute investigations (if that make sense):
So you don't have EQ CWG and are still getting c*? Are you or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party... er... uh.. I mean Credit Watch Gold.
dougneb said: So you don't have EQ CWG and are still getting c*? Are you or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party... er... uh.. I mean Credit Watch Gold.Yes. I was a member when the choppage occurred.
details...
05/22 I enrolled in free 30 days of Score Watch (Get two free FICO® credit scores and notification of key changes to your score with a 30 day free trial of Score Watch. At the end of the free trial period we will automatically renew your subscription for a twelve (12) month period and charge your credit or debit card $79.95, unless you cancel.)
06/02 I requested report for use in disputing balances.
06/13 I enrolled inadvertently in "Equifax Credit Watch (TM) Gold with 3-in-1 Monitoring" note to C/S:I intended to only order the "Equifax Credit Watch™ Gold" product for the 90 day free trial. While I did review the option of upgrading to the 3-in-1 product, I hit the back button to continue with the free 90 trial product. Please ensure I am enrolled in the free trial product and any applicable charges get reversed. and their response:The cancellation of your Equifax Credit Watch (TM) Gold with 3-in-1 Monitoring was processed successfully. Also, we have processed a refund for this product. A credit of $76.45 will appear on your credit card account within 5 to 10 business days.
06/15 I enrolled in free 90 days of Credit Watch Gold
06/24 11AM CST Found enough evidence above to scare me away from EQ services so I submitted online secure-mail requesting cancelation of Credit Watch Gold service
12PM CST Email announcing the 06/02 investigation was complete. Upon accessing the updated report (dated 06/23), discovered the choppage.
