Somehow I missed that AMEX news. Thanks for the quick update guys. It doesn't hurt me much as AMEX slashed my lines, but the rest of my family has like $130k of credit with them ready to be consolidated. I guess it will help a lot with thier overall utilization (which is likely needed), assuming AMEX doesn't slash thier lines at some point in the future. Thoughts/suggestions?

Also, I fired off my sisters o rama yesterday, things are looking real good for her right now. Should I try to incorporate here info into my thread, or should I start a new thread and link the two? Consolidation is good, but I think things would get clustered and the posts would loose appeal/value if together. Let me know what you guys think.

I just noticed that the National City Life Springs 0% BT term is now just 6 months. I guess this changed recently? I clicked on the application link in tim1's list and then noticed it showed the same terms as yours.

However, it looks like the National City Quilter's Rewards card still has a 12 month 0% BT term.

I had similar experience reported here. Looks like they know about b* on TU and EQ and changed their strategy to weed out FW accordingly

The link I have says card not avaialble and I can't get to an app. My work internet is very sketchy, so I'd apprecaite it if someone can find a 0% BT offer from AMEX for me. The only one I know of is the IN cards (I really need the LA one). Thanks.

Mike, I'm not sure if it's the old news, but someone posted a few days ago that ALL IN:XXX cards are discontinued. Are you aware of that and just looking for a "bridgetrack" equivalent for these cards?

The IN:XXX cards are gone from cardselection.com.

Good catch. Thanks, ahself. (I wonder why Tim1 chose not to create a distinct thread).

As for your sister's... personally, I prefer a new thread for each AOR experience.

Good find. Mike, I would apply for this by phone. If they balk at a new line because you already have a card, maybe you'll get to talk to an analyst without having to wait for a rejection a week or two later.

I was thinking about this last night as this will affect over a possible $100k in BT money from AMEX for my wife and I as we get ready to do AOR 3.0. I was thinking about calling and seeing if it was still available by applying over the phone. I have done a lot of web searching and can't really come up with any more info. I am just gonna give it a go and try to "phone it in" when it comes time and hope for the best. My back up plan is gonna be to apply for a Blue card that has 0% on purchases for 15 months and load all non EDP spending on it for the next 1 1/4 years. It pains me to not be able to put those large Cl's to good use.

FYI - I cancelled my Advanta card less than 2 weeks ago and applied for a new one yesterday (to escape their one card rule), and got an email that I was approved this morning . No word on the CL yet. Pretty good fact, given thier 15 mo BT offer.

When you applied yesterday, do you recall what your TU inquiry count was at? B* doesn't work and they have been putting old inquiries back on reports.

However, my current TU inquiries were at 0 when I applied, and I know that some of my apps pulled TU, but I checked my report this morning and I have NO TU inquiries on there right now at all. I can pull my report with another service later today to confirm this.

I suppose I'm glad Citi is now pulling EX for me.

nm, sorry.

Edit:

in this post I was going to question Jack on why he's such a believer into what TransunionAssociate was saying (e.g., did he see his inquiries come back?), but then I checked the thread and saw that there have been quite a few confirmations since I last looked.
I checked for myself and saw 05/09/08 inq re-appear (was b*ed off a couple of weeks ago), but my wife's from Feb'08 is still gone ...

Just pulled my credit after 14 new apps and only 5 EX inquiries (mostly Citi) and 1 EQ (Advanta) are showing with 0 TU inquries???? No inquiries from chase at all. Maybe they are just delaying the pull, but they were all instant last AOR.

(a) TU inquiries are doing the known disappearing effect the day following an application for credit or
(b) when they restored the billion or so previously bumped inquiries, the TransUnion GODS turned off the inquiry counter for July 2nd

Just finished up the last of the applications today. Does anyone have any suggestions on good cards I missed? I don't want to be too agressive. I think 16 total apps may be a good number, especially since we can't bump EX and TU now. It may be better to play it on the safe side. Thoughts?

I've also completed a very similar list of apps for my sister. She is getting very wide ranges of decisions from denial by Discover/Bank Atlantic/Juniper, to a Citi Cash Rewards CL of $25k and a Citi Associated CL of $15k to a BOA CL of $2.5k. Not sure what is up. It seems like her EX report is extra special or something, although I'm not seeing what is so special about it. I'll likely make a new thread for her if people wish it, but it is pretty much redundant with mine, I may just update her decision status later.

Mike,

Don't make a separate thread for your sister. Yes, it may be a lot to swallow in a single thread, but it gives a comparison perspective for two different people in same family and similiar credit histories.

I'm waiting to see what happens with your deferred #9 National City - National Quilters. For me, National City [Lifespring] was the only rejection I received in years. (I do an application every 2-3 months to churn additional principal money and pay off expiring BT.) Instead of National City, I received a Chase Visa preapproved promo for which I applied and was approved for even longer period than 1 year (till Aug 2009) for 0% no BT fee money.

I was surprised when I did my mini-AOR in early June that out of my 6 applications between mixed creditors (Discover, AMEX, Citi, Chase, Advanta, and HSBC) that none of them pulled from TU. They were all Experian and EQ hits. I didn't dwell too much on it at the time since I didn't research who would pull from where. There does appear to be a new trend that many issuers are moving away from TU. We'll see if TU's decision to reinstate many of their inquiries will provide more faith from these issuers in the future. Note that none of my 9 TU inquiries have shown back up yet since I bumped them 7 months ago. Perhaps the day has come where issuers are finally doing something about bumpage, which will punish agressive AORs by loading up the inquiries on Experian.

alert mods

My inquiries are all now showing. The TU ones posted on the correct days, it just took a 2 day delay before they showed up for some reason.

Count:
7 TU inquiries
11 total EX inquiries (5 new, 6 from last year AOR 1.0)
1 EQ inquiry (too bad I can't find another issuer that pulls EQ for me )

I'm pretty sure I'm done with the apps unless something nice comes in the mail or I find someone else that will pull EQ. I could lock TU and EX, but I'm not going to bother with it. This is a pretty full scale AOR already, and better safe than sorry.

Also, I'll be in Vegas Monday - Saturday, so I'll have a big status update when I get back. Until then, its party time.

Mike, I recommend you sign up w/ creditkarma, AMEX credit secure, and chase id protection (via credco) and start b*. First, b* may not be possible very soon. Second, if you manage to b* using those 3 services, that would provide a good datapoint to the rest of us.

Have fun in Vegas (I don't suppose you will give us a vegas update, will you?).

Already using all three of those services . Probably won't have much computer access in Vegas...and I also won't be sober much, so I'm not sure how much alone time with FWF I can make room for .

I've used all three of those services in the past and can confirm that they all work for b*. Creditkarma pulls only TU though, not EQ, but the price is right.

O ya, and did I mention that a small portion of last year's AOR profits are paying for this Vegas trip . Thanks Chase, Citi, AMEX, Discover, National City...

Nat City wasn't the only one to reject me in recent years (Penfed rejected me for "pyramiding debt" when I had no balances but lots of recent cards), but Nat City is the only bank that ever rejected me for a preapproved offer that they mailed to me. I don't bother with NatCity any more.
