One day, two new threads. You're on a roll.
UPDATE:
One day.
3 threads.
Innumerable reds.
Well, once a year the illuminati get together with the masons, majestic 12, and the skull and bones folks. Once they have a consensus then a representative from them meets with the mafia, yakuza and triads on their secret moonbase built by the greys. Then they use the grey's mind waves to control the various heads of state that are reptoids. Finally, the reptoids meet with the trilateral commission who then inform the Federal Reserve, who's responsibility it is to make up inflation figures to hide the actual number which was determined by the illuminati together with the masons, majestic 12, and the skull and bones folks.

You forgot the Council on Foreign Relations, Bohemian Grove, and the Bilderbergs. God there's just so many shadowly clandestine groups working to rule the world and...lie about inflation. I know when I go to my masonic lodge meetings on Tuesdays, the first thing on our agenda is always manipulating inflation rates, after which we talk about who is putting together the pancake breakfast.

Darn, just check our town's website, fireworks got canceled due to thunderstorms. I think they made the right decision though. Once I was at a baseball game in the candlestick park. The fireworks for the win were exploding above the low clouds.
Dude, the truth is out there!
Anyone seen any deals on Tinfoil hats?
While I believe that inflation is certainly taking place at an alarming rate, I don't think anyone will really be able to reflect on just how much we're seeing until several years after the fact. Rising oil prices have done some wild things to the economy and it's intelligent to plan for the related effects of such.
Not so smart to ramble about some secret 'they' which has conspired to inflate us all.
In some ways inflation can be a good thing. It makes debt much more affordable to pay off. For example, my 30 year mortgage monthly payments become quite affordable as inflation takes place. The downside being that many of our paychecks will not increase as fast as the price of goods do. This can make for some hard months/years.
There are many things indexed to the cost of living. I was wondering how the trickle down effects of rising oil will be factored. Just because oil is not counted, the effect of such a fast increase in cost should be considered. Comments?

Even PIMCO's Bill Gross thinks that the offical inflation numbers are wrong and that the actual figure, as calculated the way most of the world does, is about 7%. That feels about right.

Yeah I would tend to agree to agree that inflation is signifigantly higher than stated by the goverment. However I don't feel there is a need for the goverment to change the way they calculate inflation because nearly every goverment handout is tied to the much lower inflation numbers. Personally I think it should give those people a little extra incentive to work for a living. Just my two cents though.

Didn't Ron Paul quit? I'd think his campaign would have a few boxes left over. They were giving them away as premiums for a contribution you know. Then again, I'm sure that choice was the most popular with the Paulites so maybe they ran through their stock after all.

Deflation that must have occurred in 97-98 when gas prices dropped like a rock. I notice the handy chart doesn't go back far enough to measure that.![]()
The "real" cost of living? Twenty bucks.
