Those interested in p2p lending might want to take note of this web site, Fynanz.com. The focus is entirely on student loans for those inelgible for the federally guaranteed loans. The site is different than other p2p sites in that all loans are "guaranteed" by the site, from 50% to 100% of principle, based on the borrower's FACS grade. Interest rates are based on the LIBOR rate plus a premium decided by the market.

The site also encourages bids from family and friends, more so than prosper.com. One can search borrowers by college.

They have an elaborate bonus structure for new lenders who invest and/or refer others to the site.

If you're interested in p2p borrowing and student loans youn might want to check it out.

They couldn't pick a better name so people would take them more seriously?

Simple rule of using the internet: Every website that adds z to the end of a word ends up being a scam.

Pro: You know the borrowers there are going to be dummies, you'll get good rates
Con: They're more likely to wind up asking if you want fries with that, so repayment will be an issue
