But the japanese teller looks at my watch receipt and says I have to return the rewards back.. He saw the receipt stamp and automatically said that. I was afraid of that. Not sure what else to do except try again with another teller but i am afraid no luck since all of them are japanese at the watch dept. Try a supervisor i guess or go to another Macys. Do i need to return it at the particular dept i bought it from at Macys. Gee, i wish they wouldnt stamp the receipt. Its always a good idea to return the items purchased to another store/branch which does not participate in the discover promotion, its just to avoid problems(if any) and i never had a problem returning it at a another store though the receipt was stamped. |

Hi guys, I read through this thread and would like to ask one question here. The promotion says limit 5 GC per "account". I believe "account" means per each discover card that you have? Or did anyone here able to get 5 GC per each participating Mall? Thanks millions! |

The terms say 5 per account, but the malls are not connected to a centralized system, and furthermore, in my experiance last year, many of the malls either wipe their records, or don't keep very good record. I heard they were a little tighter last summer during the promo, but I didn't try very hard when it was only 10 for 100. MinorityDan, I'm in Chicago this weekend. I might be up for a drive next weekend though. I'm might pop out for a lunch time cruise to Marley Station and/or Arundel Mills tomorrow. |

My 2pm meeting was cancelled, made my first trip.. $300 in. I picked up a $500 BB gift card which I'll flip on eBay for at least 550, thanks to the MSFT 25% CashBack. This could be a gold mine if I can get another powerseller account to get around eBay prohibition against multiple gift card sales. |

I told the cashier that i dont need to return the rewards, is mine to keep. Anyway, this got me thinking. Is there a way to avoid such scenario obviously gift receipts cannot be used for returns? so i tried. Apparently it takes 5-7 business days to clear the purchase and i dont want to go over my credit limit. Looks like a long wait with Discover. Question: Does it have to be single/multiple purchase on the same day? lets say $315 one day, $85 a week later, a total of $40 GC. |

Yes, you can follow the advice of the poster who suggested you return the item to a store which is not participating in the promo. The purchases do not have to be on the same day. |

Sorry, i didnt catch this quickly, but a store gift card will usually sell for less than you paid for at eBay?? How does the MSTF works? i though MSTF benefits the purchaser? how much less would i sell it for without the MSTF? |

web Your method will work only thru the live cash program, both parties win. Is there limit/requirements to sell thru livecash? This can turn into a goldmine if we use a 5%cc to buy any giftcard. What's eBay prohibition against multiple gift card sales? |

Personally, I wouldn't want to touch a high price/risk item for a small reward. |

My modest round 1 completed. Just my luck it took FOREVER as she kept referring to the manual. The upside: the swiping machine was down thus I should be able to do a second round at this same mall. |

I think a laptop from Apple is easiest, I did that last year. I did a watch from Macy's this year, very yappy sales guy, had to wait a while for them to get the box from the back, and it was on sale which push the price under $1k. I wish I could churn, but only one mall close enough to me. |

I'll share, since unless double dipping at the same mall happens again, I'm about 50% done already for my 5 local malls. I am on board with the mall visa debit cards that can be used anywhere. These can either be sold on eBay, used for everyday stuff, or used to buy dollars coins. Buy tv's from Sears, never pick them up. Walk into Nordstroms, buy a couple pairs of really expensive shoes, or jewelry, or anything at all. Nordstrom has a fantastic return policy. Best Buy, look for GPS units that are on display, grab five of them, never have to talk to a saleperson. |

i got $600 in gc's last year from this promotion, all at the same mall on the same discover card. at Macy's, a couple of $500 dresses or a nice coat will do the trick... or a coach purse or two... and at Macy's for those worried about the stamp, simply return the item w/out the receipt. the merchandise has that little sticker on it which identifies the transaction, so you don't even need to show a receipt. and you can always ask for a gift receipt... also did a camcorder from best buy, but that was a bit more of a hassle. just used my last $20 gc from last year this week! still have a few with $1 or $2 on them... many of them i converted into Amazon credits last year, and used them to make purchases on Amazon, so as to avoid little remaining balances on multiple cards... my mall in so cal (valencia) is not on the list this year even though it was last year. bummer! have to go farther from home this year, i guess... |

riv you defintely can do this at multiple malls. i think due to computr problems, many were able to double back at the same mall when records were lost. that gburgh mall, arundel mills and marley staion have gift cards for sale that you can use anywhere. buy dollalar coins with them or sell on eBay for porofit. |

Ok OK, I'll jump in. Advice is to plan ahead. I think I mentioned last year that people should plan to have 2-3 or even 4 Disc cards by this time in preparation for this years promotion. And I have 4 now. I don't have much to Add on top of Verbal - He's really pioneered it. Check the Apple Store as well(it was mentioned above). I got tired of the interactions with sales people at Macys and the like - so stores like BB/ Apple are pretty good for minimal interaction. Best Buy is awesome for safe, away from mall returns - but few malls have these attached so that won't be an option for everyone. Just walk in, grab what you want, and buy it. Today for example I picked up a couple laptops, told the dude I was in a hurry (on lunch break) and he did not even bother me with any chit chat - I was in and out. I think I missed Verbalk by a couple minutes ! The gift cards is a fantastic Idea - since there will be no going back to return items - its much better, so Kudos to you Verbalk for bringing it to my attention. I think I'm just going to go snowboarding every weekend once this is over, use the GC's for walkup rate lift tickets and Gas to Vermont - since I'll have close to 4k in one round. |
