Hi All,

It's been a while and things have been going pretty well despite the ugly turn of events relating to return on capital in cash accounts and the brutal downturn in financial markets. I've had enough borrowed money to keep the bucks rolling in. With your help I managed to reach a max of over $850K in BT money out of 1.4M in total available credit between my wife and I in personal and business accounts. Unfortunately that amount has dwindled through repayments to only $472K with more to flow out soon. Since we're one of those families that isn't trying to get out of credit card debt (I can't get enough of it) it's time to re-up. My plan this time around is to be somewhat conservative with applications and try to leverage only the high credit line opportunities I expect to bring the greatest reward. Our financial and card situation hasn't changed much from the previous rounds of WOR/AOR so you can check out the history (Part 1 / Part2) if you want more detail.

For expedience sake I am going to cut to the chase. Here are the lines I want to leverage the order in which I intend to apply to cards and the best links/offers I have found so far. I need to apply pretty soon so I can still take advantage of a USAA offer I received in the mail before it expires so I will probably apply within a week or so. I am hoping for any feedback on the cards/offers I have listed here and any alternative suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help. I look forward to your feedback.

Why no Citi cards.

Check the rescent A0R threads on Citi's Slaughter(incl family members for no reason)
With the Big 3 banks(BoA, Chase & Citi) on a blood bath spree(A/A) with diminishing cash reserves, i wish to be very very cautious and careful on my "pick" list and strategize in such a way that i won't loose my old cards and fat lines should an A/A occur as that was built with considerable goodwill and effrot during a course of time.

(I recommend editing OP to shorten the length of links)

"Only" over $400k of AOR debt, I love it.

You know there's some real risk of getting chump results out of these apps.

- Advanta generally rejects apps if you already have a card.
- I don't know what the "second card" app behavior is for Nat City or BankAtlantic (I recommending checking in the off chance if you can reallocate from Barclay's business to Barclay's personal, it would be convenient if you could).
- HSBC and WAMU sometimes/often yield crappy CL's, especially when not using a targeted offer. Capone is also sometimes schizophrenic.
- I have never tried reallocating between Elan cards, but I was shot down once doing a Elan/US Bank reallocation.

The Discover GPS/DVD deals are kind of interesting though. They obviously shorten your 0% periods to 6 months, but if you want the gadget, then cool.

You are saying that you want to leverage your existing lines, but have posted links for new CC apps like your AMEX? Please explain.

NatCity shot me down on my second application in my March 2008 Lazy-O-Rama. They rejected it as a "duplicate" application (even though I applied for two different NatCity cards). But I believe mine were both personal apps.

I did get two BankAtlantic cards and consolidated, I believe, P->B, without any hassle whatsoever. BankAtlantic was the worst, though, in terms of the BT itself. It took three tries over a month and a half and cost $150 in fees ($75 in fees x 2). You have to use a real CC # for the BT and they limit you to $20K per BT. I eventually laundered through BofA. They refused to waive the second fee twice. See my A0R thread for details.

I want to use the lines I have built up and reallocate to new cards to take advantage of 0% offers. AMEX is great because you can reallocate on your own. The only problem being the propensity for FR and that sometimes they just sit on BTs for months waiting to "approve them"

I've already got $85K out until 7/09 on two cards. Seems like enough for now

Yeah same expereince almost to the letter although my line was large enough I had to incure 3x BT fess and they did waive one. I called Nat City and was able to resolve that I wanted both (see my AOR) they recommended calling in the future and told me that they would have been willing to work out a single high limit line rather than 2x mid-range.

Is there still a life spring offer out there? That was a sweet deal.

Thanks Mark

I cancelled my existing advanta card
Had luck before with 2x nat city trying for the wife now. Was able to move Barclays p--B but not sure if you can go back from Bank Atlantic to Personal
Personally I had good luck with HSBC and WAMU although WAMU would no reallocate for me and HSBC took months to do it requiring that I sign and send in paperwork authorizing it.
Haven't done elan cards either.

I'm not really interested in getting more credit at this point just maintaining the 0% balances. These could all be approved for $1K and if I can reallocate or consolidate I'll be happy as a clam.

Thanks again for your help

I'm in a similar situation with my recent wife-o-rama to build my outstanding debt back up. I'm down to $520K and just re-upped for dear wife. Applied for 16 cards. Got 5 instant yes, no denials.

Couple of things
BoA biz card has no cap on the transfer, but I still think it's worthwhile. I did that last year and got capped fee promo checks 2 weeks later.
Consider expanding your horizons, wachovia (12 months and they have a biz card), RBS etc.
I cancelled Advanta 2 months ago, got a new card no problem, don't know the CL
Too bad AMEX has no BT deals, your link is for purchases only.
Maybe a 6 month BT with WAMU ESPN card?

Nuts. I knew I should have applied for the AMEX yesterday. After going through like 40 links that one really said 0% fixed for life on purchases and BTs. I almost soiled myself given the high line with them. Seems I should have either gone for it or at least gotten a screenshot. ARGH!!

National city Quilter rewards is only 6 months not 12, I applied during WOR on 6/30 and flyer in the envelope shows it changed to 6 months on 7/1..so I'm doing a BT and will try to fight it to get the original terms which I have printed out.

Any 12 month Nat'l city deals out there?

looks like this one changed to 6 months too

you were my original inspiration...

I value your experiences and commentary as you played out the first 2 parts... (hers and yours)

but seriously...

you gonna do this thing?

Well yeah. . .

It's done but feels like more pain than it's worth. Almost every lender has been a hassle and I'm trying to get a number of account closures and line reductions reinstated. It's particularly challenging because it's a WOR. I'll try to take some time to give updates soon. I've just been too busy so my apologies

Suffice to say hassle, hassle, hassle, and very little $$$ in comparison.
