So, you're saying we could sign up without the zip (or a different one for that matter) and get the bonus and close it without ever stepping into a branch?
AndroAsc said: Does ACH push from Alliant CU count as DD? I'm getting nothing! This sucks!
I've tried this too. I'm reasonably certain Alliant CU does not count. I didn't get a DD confirmation for ING either, but it could still post in a few business days.
I often get bonuses like this from chase and I'm a chase customer. I always wondered why I would need a second account so didn't know why they were sending them. Now I actually could use one and can't find one that will work as an existing chase customer.

Thanks!
I have never personally had a hard pull from Chase in relation to a checking account. I don't think I would do these each year if a hard pull were involved.

New changes in account terms from March 16, 2012. Those holding $5000 to waive monthly service fee need to bump it to $7500. I opened towards end of last year & have 3 more months to go. See below:
Important Information about Chase BusinessSelect Checking(SM) Accounts Beginning March 16, 2012, there will be two changes to your Chase BusinessSelect Checking account: - The $5,000 monthly minimum balance will no longer waive the monthly Service Fee on your Chase BusinessSelect Checking account. - The monthly Service Fee will be waived in any month you have an average daily balance of $25,000 or more in this Chase BusinessSelect Checking account and any Chase business savings accounts and CDs linked to this account. All other terms and conditions of your account remain the same, including the following ways to waive your monthly Service Fee: - Maintain an average daily balance of $7,500 in this Chase BusinessSelect Checkingaccount; or - Pay $50 or more on qualifying checking account fees (not including the monthly Service Fee); or - Make $1,000 in purchases on your linked Chase Business Credit Card during the monthly checking statement cycle; or - Maintain a linked qualifying personal checking account. See your Deposit Account Agreement for further information. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-CHASE38 (1-800-242-7338) or contact your banker for a free account review.

A banker gave me this tip a couple of years ago-- If you already have a Chase account, you can qualify for the bonus each year by opening a new acct if: a. You haven't yet earned a checking bonus this calendar year. Checking bonuses and saving bonuses are different. b. You haven't closed an acct within the last 90 days c. You get a blue card with a bonus on it and open in person (y'know, the ones you get in mailers) -Don't use the online links because those are only for new customers (Used to have a Chase acct but don't have one currently? You're still an old customer.) -Most of the blue card mailers don't specify new customer or not -Don't have a mailer or want a higher offer mailer than you have? Check the 'bay. Bonuses range $100-200.
You must satisfy ALL three conditions to get the bonus. I usually open an acct early in the year, wait 6 mos, and close so 90 days passes before I do it again the next calendar year. I have been doing this (x3) for the past 3 years.

Then Email me hustlermoneyblog@gmail.com with the following information to get the $200 bonus coupon code.
Subject Title “Chase $200 bonus code” In the email, List out 1) your facebook screenname 2) your email for subscribing. I will only send you a copy of the coupon code once you follow the above steps. Additionally, the terms specify that there IS a direct deposit requirement (the same $500/month): "Also, within 60 days of account opening, we must receive from your employer or the government a monthly electronic direct deposit of your payroll, pension or government benefits, such as Social Security. The bonus will be deposited into your new account within 10 business days after your initial direct deposit is posted to your account").
Forget liking HustlerMoneyblog FB page! Its a cheap tactic to get new subscribers They figured out a google link and are using it in their own interest.
if this link doesnt work, google this: Chase Premier Checking and click the googleAd link which shows the $200 offer
but this offer sucks... Its for a Chase Premier Plus Checking. Chase Premier Plus CheckingSM has no monthly Service Fee when you keep a daily average of $15,000 or more in your checking, savings and other qualifying accounts. Otherwise a $25 monthly Service Fee will apply.

Does anyone have any recent datapoints on which transfer method successfully counts as DD? The ACH push from my Schwab brokerage failed but worked in years past. Thanks.

Are you looking for DD to get a checking bonus or DD to waive the monthly fee?
In my experience, you need a real DD to get a checking bonus so I always try to get offers that don't require DD.
To waive the monthly fee, ACH push from Alliant CU works. Transfer from Amazon/Payments has been working too.
