SOMETHING IS WRONG!!! With my BOA link... The one from devildoc works. I have no idea why, since I copy and pasted, and it goes to the same first page. I am going to investigate. |

Interesting. So while checking out my Discover business approval, I noticed the my personal card app was canceled. At first I thought this was a denial, but the word canceled seemed weird. I called Discover for the 3rd time today. Turns out, they canceled the Personal app because they thought I changed my mind. I told them I wanted 2 cards to separate my purchases. They said that's fine and approved me for $10,000 and said it can be more if I provide a proof of income. I'm probably not gonna go through all that, but just a note for others. |

Checking statuses is fun! Juniper gave me 2500 and 5000. Not as generous as the big banks? Another bank that I had been getting spammed with pre-approvals every month for half a year. Oh well, with 3 biz cards left, I'm look at a possible perfect 13 for 13. Citi and Chase were the 2 cards I wanted most though... |

Those Juny approvals are lower than I would expect. May be worth call, either the number on the card or the Barclay's credit department number mentioned in jackcrawfish's thread, and see if there's any room to work it. Unless verifying income requires a blood test or something, I'd give it a shot with Discover. They're often slightly stingy with lines, so anything that will boost them is a good thing. |

I don't know if this helps, but if you call up the Associated Bank folks, you could get the CL from your unused Citi card moved over to the Assciated card before you do any Balance Transfer. They won't let you reallocate, but if you are willing to close it, they'll move the CL. That would add up to a nice chunk of credit avaialable for a big BT. |

Just called Juniper. They said it was because it was my first card ever with the bank, and they try to give out a small CL until the 6 month review... Anyone else have this happen? Was the CSR just making things up? |

There are a few things I am gonna consider. I thought about moving as much over the the citi business if it gets approved. If not, I plan on doing exactly what you said. I have about 40k in unused CL in citi. If I can move as much as I can before the BT, I'm looking at 50k+ to play with. |

Sweet! Decided to make one last round of status checks for the night. Citi approved my biz card. This is the big one. I now have 55k worth of personal credit that I am going to try to move to biz for a huge BT. Hopefully they don't get too annoyed. Also, I forgot to mention earlier. Another interesting thing was that when Discover called me to review my application, they brought up that I had another business on my business credit report. I had used my aunt's old business to apply for a Costco True Earning biz card a while back. This was before I knew I could just use my own SS# to do this. Anyways, it seems that Discover biz department may check your biz credit report. This might have an impact for others? Maybe other AOR gurus can make sense of this. They also asked how much I made in my business. I told them I made $500 this year (true), but was hoping to get a CC to expand my business (not really). |

8/20/08 - Discover...approved me for $10,000 and said it can be more if I provide a proof of income.I asked teh credit rep for more than 8k I was approved for by submitting docs...he only sadi to wait 6 months and request a CLI...8/21/08 - Called US Bank biz, was approved last night for $25,000. Card was sent out today. That's $40,000 total from US Bank alone as a first time customer. They sure are generous!Booyah!8/21/08 - Called to check on Chase Biz again... Still no decision. They are now my last card. Might be of interest to people that Chase was the last card I applied for before my AOR. I got 2 freedom cards in 02/02/08. Maybe they will reject me based on recent cards. The Amazon Chase card was already crippled to $400.They were very slow for my wife's approval too...I thought they had denied her at first. Thanks for the updates...it's awesome having others in the game within the same week as your own AOR.... what fun. |

Ya, it's actually very useful to have you and your wife's AOR as reference. I was really surprised in Advanta's 11k. Seeing you get so little and others having the same history with Advanta. Ironic how they were the first CC company ever to deny me a card about 3 or 4 years ago. I'm hoping Chase biz comes soon. I might call them to see what the hold up is. After citi, chase holds a lot of potential because I already have a lot of CL with them and could reallocate to make one giant BT. |

App-to-plastic time for Chase for me is usually around two weeks, if I remember. |

Anyone else have this happen? Was the CSR just making things up? I got 16K on my first ever card with them, earlier this year. But maybe they've tightened up since then. |

I've been reading a lot in the last couple of days on AOR. Considering one myself primarily for BT of existing balances. Are most people who do that requesting BT at application or when the BT checks arrive? |

Considering how US Bank gave me 15k and 25k as a "first time" applicant. I might trying calling Juniper and telling them I want to do a BT, but my CL is really low. They might budge then. |

I didn't because I wanted everything to be approved and move my existing CL around to get a bigger overall BT. |

US Bank / Elan called me at work. They said that they have both my personal and biz app. My personal shows that I work for one company, and my biz app shows me owning my own biz. She questioned me about my biz and asked what I did. I told her I did freelance consulting for websites (true). She said she needed proof of my business in terms of a federal ID, a biz checking account statement, a biz website etc. I didn't have any of these and told her I have been doing freelance work for 3 years now, and looking to expand (worked with Discover). She didn't like my answers and proceeded to cancel my application. Note that this is AFTER I had called and they said I was APPROVED for $25,000. I will update the status more clearly once I get a rejection letter. EDIT: I just reread my own logs. I had originally thought that the automated system approved me, but it was actually a live CSR that told me. He said my card had gone out today, and I will receive it. Odd that they told me I was approved, then called to deny me. I doubt they really did send the card, but I am going to call back later today to ask for a more clear response. |
