FWIW, I called USBank "investigative services" this morning (aka verifications dept @866-268-7231).
I called regarding of their "100 applications at your address" concern mentioned yesterday (8/20/2008). After being on hold for 14 minutes, they told me my application has been forwarded to underwriting. I asked specifically whether an ICS report was the source of information used in underwriting USBank applications. The rep did not know. After checking with another person (another 4 minute hold), she came back with "what is it again you're asking for?" After re-explaining what an ICS report is, she quipped, "well...your already being approved so I don't understand your question"

I gave up... Sorry FW, I could not verify whether USBank uses ICS reports for verification and/or underwriting...My ICS report arrived. As suspected, USBank uses ICS (see below detail of my AOR2.0 hits against ICS. My full report can be viewed in the dedicated thread)

Rep said that was fine so long as there was a balance on that LOC account.
Crap, I didn't pay enough attention when you posted this. I'm not entirely clear on the mechanics of what you did here, partly because I don't know what fsb means. Any tips? |

Thanks for the US Bank BT info. I called them just now. They didn't even blink. Just told them the bank name, address, and account number. Check will be sent out tomorrow. |

fsb stands for Federal Savings Bank. My USBank "deposit" only took 4 business days. In other news, my 22000 Bank of America direct deposit posted and was immediately available today (8/27 request date with 9/8 posting date) |

But hey I am biased sitting on the sidelines here. I would do what's best for you.FYI - I reapplied 9 days after closing my BA account, it was approved an additional 3 days after submitting the application. |

I called this morning and asked them to resume application processing as I had lifted the freeze from my report temporarily. So you had to lift your freeze, they wouldnt use the PIN to bypass the freeze themselves? The CSR I spoke to 'submitted the request', but I'm not sure what she requested - that the PIN be used to access EXP, or another bureau be pulled instead. |

I think that is for the opening a Citi Ultimate Savings Account, where they allow initial funding via a credit card...search for 40K TYP when opening a new Citi MMA or USA, and that thread will tell you more than you want to know. |

Jack, is your plan to quit those 5 or so credit reporting services after doing your A0R? Or are you going to keep them every month. I could see the general consensus leaning towards starting just before your A0R and ending after one month, but keeping them going just to avoid inqs showing up on random account reviews could cut into profits quite a bit...just wondering what you were going to do. |

another thread here Wow. A bold and brilliant move, in the abstract, but I have to confess I'm a bit nervous about AA from Citi for you given the current climate. Just re-scanning through the AA thread on them has my own panties in a bunch, and I wear boxers, not briefs. |

OK... I've had a lot of PMs asking how to fund a Citi deposit account with a Citi credit card as the purchase... I posted the 40k TYP links in this post. FW community (I'm looking especially for the veteran/VIP member votes here too...) shall I post my specific data points/process I'm using [thanks for the PMs] or should I let the 40k TYP thread speak for itself? Vote using this post: - Green = yes... share my experience
- Red = no... leave the FW effect for another deal/loophole
edit: PM me your vote and rationale if you don't want the community to know your position |

9/4/2008 I said:I am still waiting for Bank Atlantic to approve 1 of my 2 BT requests submitted online on 8/28. They approved sending $8750 on 9/2 but not the $20000. Today marks the 5th business day waiting for them to send the $20000.I have a $29,000 credit line with BankAtlantic. I requested two balance transfers which would use 28,900 of the 29,000 limit (8750 + 20000 + 75fee + 75fee). I called today and was informed the 20,000 BT was declined by the "system." I asked rep what the limit per balance transfer was. He said 20,000. I asked him why was my BT declined by the system - was there a change to the terms and conditions? He tried to say it was a $10,000 BT per day limit. I got nowhere in arguing with him so I ended call and promptly requested a new BT for the same amount to launder through my BOA Pet Rewards card. I then made a $150 payment to leave more than a measly $100 available credit. I'll update later on success of this strategy.
edit: note sent via secure mail: I just submitted a new request for a balance transfer (#789012). Per the frequently asked questions for the account, "The Balance Transfer must be a minimum of $100 and may not exceed your available credit or $20,000 whichever is less." I was very disappointed to discover the other balance transfer for $20,000 was not processed (#123456). There was adequate available credit to process this transaction. Please ensure payment is made immediately to the creditor referenced in request #789012. |
