The "new app" is probably the citibank card reporting as closed, and your alert service isn't smart enough to avoid calling it a "new" account. They are unrelated. Calm down jack, it will be okay. Go to your happy place. There there little crawfish, there there. |

Sorry man was on vacation and came back, and an accountant quit so now I get to do twice the amount of work. Interesting about the Bank Atlantic card. I just locked my TU file and applied for it to see if they would pull EQ which open until the 15th. |

Just to confirm....in the aforementioned statement, are you referring to applying for a Bank Atlantic card with TU locked to see whether they pull EQ (they pull TU in most every AOR post I've ever seen)? |

jackcrawfish, that above post with Barclay calling BA and reopening the account may be one of the most important posts I've seen on here in awhile |

I just happened to be the first in FW to try the reopen process and post my experience. While I appreciate your compliment, there are still some unknowns with regard to the reopen process. - Is there a minimum level of credit performance which must be met? (a) either via most recent soft review or (b)via card specific performance - I had paid the balance down significantly**
- What other Barclay's factors play in to whether reopen is a possibility? I have a Juniper National Parks Foundation card active and open with a 1000 credit line. I have a closed Juniper card which was opened during a 2001 single card baby-AOR
- Perhaps most importantly, How long can it be closed before you become ineligible for reopen and have to reapply? I was closed only 2 days
Also keep in mind: I was on hold for 7 minutes while the BC credit rep and BA CSR went back an forth - I have no idea how much effort went into reopening my account. As always...YMMV. **my balance was 25,000. I had scheduled an online 10,000 payment for 2 weeks in future (the future post date was an error on my part but turns out to be a blessing in disguise). Bal still 25,000. I closed the card. I couldn't make online payments via the web so made 2 payments via the VRU totaling 12,000 from Mrs J and my Citi checking accounts Bal now 13,000. I was able to reopen the card with 45% utilization (13,000 bal / 29,000 credit line). FWIW, on my original jul/2007 business application, I had written $0 revenue (start-up sole prop - sales) |

all better now....thanks, mark....I called USBank 800-947-1444. After rep put me on 11 minute hold (she said she was holding for the verifications department), she told me that my app was being forwarded to a credit analyst and that tomorrow I will know the results of the approval. She said 'it will probably be sent down for approval.' I'll call tomorrow, of course and get the details. I've made a potentially huge mistake with my planning AOR2.0 in that on the application, I requested a 35,000 BT to a zero balance ATT Citi card... If I'm approved for that amount and the new tradeline reports to the credit bureau agencies, will my planned Sept 1st app spree be less successful? Should I pull the trigger today with 6 recent EQ inquiries still showing? Should I only pull trigger on expected TU applications? Or should I simply go to my happy place as mark advises? |

I think the $35,000 balance would look worse to other issuers than the 6 current inquiries (how recent?), so I would pull the trigger now (you have more experience with AORs than I do, though). Do you expect a CL at or above $35,000? It is my understanding that US Bank will not issue the BT at all if it is above the credit limit (see the last post in your Mrs. Jackcrawfish thread). |

jdmetz said:I think the $35,000 balance would look worse to other issuers than the 6 current inquiries (how recent?)...The inquiries were from May 29 as part of a hard CLI spree to window dress my bureaus.... Good news for me...... I called to remove the 35,000 BT from the application. Credit analyst did so and confirmed that I have up to 30 days to BT for free if I change my mind. He also provided information that the BT would not likely have been approved for that high amount without financials. I asked what he meant. He said 'we can approve lines that high if there's adequate financial documentation such as tax returns.' I offered my 2007 return which matched my HHI listed on the original application. He said that 'If your income is the same, we would not be able to approve any more credit than what is currently under review.' |

Oh - I thought USB only had their nifty BT deals if requested with app - did they make an exception for you or have I misread? Before I get an answer with an embarrassing linky, I've got one of my own saying No Balance Transfer Fees for balances transferred with this application |
