Ah, FWF wisdom to the rescue again, thanks lhend and jack. A follow-up about USB: Looks like you're a new customer (as I'm planning on becoming), but you're asking them for two new cards in one round. Just curious about what the conventional wisdom was for these smaller guys vis-a-vis how many apps is too many... I guess I have Juniper, Barclay's, USB, and other little guys in mind for the question. I know I've been told WF is a one-app issuer...

My wife's AOR1.0 had 2 USBank apps... the 2nd returned the following message after approving the 1st for 25000, "max unsecured credit already avail"
I may cancel the 2nd application in light of the response she received on the 2nd USBank application (her list and results)

Hey man, I hope I catch you in time. There was a snafu in my link to the BOA MC. I have made a comment in my thread. It's still working. Sorry about the confusion.

So we launching today? Good stuff.
I await your results. I hope the "Instant Approved" gods are good to you.
Called 866-408-4064 to move business credit to personal.
Rep said to close account first. Rep went on to say that only managers in her Barclays credit department could see the business cards but they would be the one's to process the line movement. After closing the card, call back (866-408-4064) and make request for movement from business to personal. She said she was going to note the account for the next person so that the movement would proceed smoothly...
After closing and confirming online that closure had taken place,
Access to online services has been restricted.
I called back to Barclays Credit. Rep said he'd need to reach the "Business Card Specialists" (managers, I presume). After 2 minutes on hold, he advised they were unavailable but that my request would be forwarded to them for review and I would receive a letter in the next 7-10 days.
(wait 15 minutes)
Called back to 866-408-4064. After explaining what was needed, rep (different from others) put me on hold for 6 minutes. Told me that $14,000 of the $29,000 would move over today as there was still a balance outstanding on the business card (see ** in this post). She went on to say that the rest can be moved after the balance is paid to zero. Finally, no inquiry would be made for this movement.
THE 15,000 MOVEMENT Showed ONLINE IMMEDIATELY IN MY NATIONAL PARKS CARD!!! THANK YOU once again, lhendricks!

Nice. So it looks like we can move business to personal.
Are you launching this AOR today? Now I guess the only other question is to find out how long you have to wait after closing a Barclays Biz card that you can apply and be approved for another card.

Thanks for guinea pigging, Jack, let us know how it works.
And next time you're talking to them, see if you can ask, theoretically, about reallocating from a barclay's biz card to another barclay's biz card.
1 BOA PlatPlus:...careful consideration is being given to your request, but an instant decision cannot be provided at this time.
2 Wells Fargo:We just need to verify a few pieces of information before we can give you a credit decision. Wells app status... 800-967-9521 ""
3 BOA Pet Rewards:We regret we're unable to approve your request at this time.
4 BankAtlantic: Sufficient credit is available on your account issued by Barclays Bank Delaware**
5 WAMU ESPN: We are not able to process your application at this time.
6 Iberia: your application has been received.......(800) 968-0801
**The instant oline denial letter provided detail of the credit bureau agency from which information "[was] provided." They didn't pull a report! verbatim: NO BUREAU, NO ADDRESS, NO CITY, XX 000000, 555-555-5555.
I did not apply for Juniper FarmBureau card due to this denial reason...

Good luck! I'm following you, I think next Tuesday, with largely the same card list. It looks like you eliminated both USBank apps? (I know they only want one per new customer - do they have a relationship with one of the issuers you applied to, or did you trim them altogether?) [Edit: Oh, right, you had that recent targetted app pre-A0R 2.0. Sorry.] Very interested to see what you can wrangle out of WAMU, I was going to leave them on the sidelines... (Edit: Wait, what? Can't "process?")
Are the decisions you're listing coming in the order you applied for them? If BoA insta-rejected your second app with them, even though it was only the third of the day, that's terrible news (for us both).
Edit: (I confess, I've been sitting here hitting refresh for 15 minutes... Kind of feeling like the asshole who lets the other guy go first through the door and get eaten by the T-Rex or whatever...)
only one bureau pull thus far (it was TU as expected)...it looks like EQ report is clean for now...

Also, 1) You dropped your 2nd Barclay's personal card from the list. Do you advise others to do the same, or just being cautious because you want the big business line? 2) You're doing Discover with EX frozen? (Are you doing the PIN thing so they can see?) 3) If you're doing Discover, are their business cards not worthwhile? I could only find a 6mo $75 cap Linky

FYI, In CA I was able to get my Experian pin online immediately when freezing. It may be different in other states. If there was a US bank app in process before the AOR, it is a good idea to do the rest of the AOR before the tradeline shows up. Especially if they report the maxed balance at the same time, which would be AOR suicide.

Jack, don't worry about the sufficient credit thing with Barclays. Just call them and tell them to transfer the CL back from Natty Parks and open the new line.

a) wait, if I understand correctly, you applied for a bank atlanticcard while already having an existing bankatlantic card, with a balance on it, and while also having a reallocation request in flight between two cards? That seems like entirely too many moving pieces going on at once. I would have recommended being less hyperactive with the process (and probably have the old bankatlantic card closed before opening a new one). However, I like lhendricks' idea of calling barclays and seeing what they can do. Hell maybe than can reallocate from your old bankatlantic to your new one.
b) The only citibank popup I'm familiar with is CitiPRO, which has the "before you go" for an extra 5k TYP. Citibiz doesn't have one, that I can recall.

Yeah I am still a little confused as to what the exact Bank Atlantic strategy is. But hey if they will open a new line even though you already have a card open and will close + condolidate into a new account... that would be an awesome data point.

I messed up (perhaps you can all learn from my mess up on how to wrangle new credit if you ever get denied)---thanks for the suggestion lhendricks92 / markkundinger.
personal sidenote: At the blackjack tables (twice a year perhaps), the double-down impulse tendency rears it's head quite a bit too... it's my achilles heel.
To recap Bank Atlantic:
(a) I closed my existing Bank Atlantic card this morning while carrying 14k still at 0%. (I should have done this a few days ago - I should have paid it off too) (b) I reallocated $15k to personal side as a datapoint (hoping to get the rest to personal after balance gets paid). (c) I applied for a new Bank Atlantic card (I admit I was planning on approval - I'm a bit surprised).
I was worried that my USBank approval from here would get screwed up and they would post my BT to the credit reporting agencies and this AOR and subsequent arbitrage would be down the toilet. I am going to call Barclays credit in the morning.
We'll find out who pulls reports later this afternoon... here are the inquiries:

We don't know if your bankatlantic denial was because you already had a bankatlantic card of any sort, because of your aggregate business lines, or because of your aggregate total lines. Not to mention the $14k balance you were carrying.

It may be diluted but the datapoint that you can reallocate biz to personal is a huge one.
I for one will NOT be waiting two months to reapply after closing a biz. 2-3 weeks most likely.

(a) 9:00AM paid off remaining balance on closed Bank Atlantic card via voice response unit(VRU). (interestingly, my original line was 29K... moved $15k to personal new line should have been $14k but via the VRU my total line was $16,500) (b) 9:10AM called 866-408-4064. After asking for the status of my new Bank Atlantic application, Credit rep offered to move credit line from my personal account in order to open the new business account. $15k "reallocated" in order to open new biz card. (thanks again lhendricks92). I asked if "credit line from my old closed Bank Atlantic card could be moved over to the new on also?" Rep said no but I suspect she doesn't know business card specialists possibly could do it. (c) 9:15AM logged in to view personal card account and saw the credit line had been reduced by the $15,000!!! yipeeee! (d) 9:20AM called 866-408-4064. Asked different rep to move recently closed Business card credit line to active personal card credit line. Rather than giving him my SSN, I gave him the actual 2 credit card numbers. He said I could call back within 24 hours to confirm the movement. I didn't even specify an amount - I presume all of the closed business card line will be submitted for movement to personal card (see OP).

Looks like you're getting there. So, if you had to do the Barclays dance all over, would you simplify and...
1)a) pay off bank atl b) consolidate bank atl to nat parks c) apply for new bank atl (or generic biz card?) d) expecting denial, call and ask to open the new biz card with reallocated credit from nat parks.
OR
2) payoff bank atl and keep it open, reapply, get denied, and consolidate old bank atl to open new bank atl?
#2 seems the easiest route, if it's possible.

So since he managed to get a new BIZ card opened... I think it's safe to say that the credit ninja that originally stated that you must wait 60 days between closing and applying was misinformed?
My interest in the extra steps is only to avoid the appearance of arbitrage gaming (i.e., "i see you just closed one yesterday... we'll simply deny your new app and reopen the existing.")

Then it would be best to apply for a different card to further prove you are not trying to game them. If you had a 15mo BankAtlantic Biz... go for the 13mo Barclays Biz. And vice-versa for AOR3.0 (hey it's never too early to start planning).
I had to call USBank again today regarding my pre-AOR application that pulled both EQ (initial) and then later a TU report (verifications department). I plan to BT to checking once it finally gets approved.
ME:"I have been told for 4 days to call back within 24-48 hours to see whether it has been approved. What is taking so long? You received my faxed address information didn't you?" (I was transferred first to the verifications department. Then the verifications rep transferred me to her supervisor.)
SUPER:"Mr Jackcrawfish, have you applied for credit recently using your address 123 main street?"
ME:"My wife did a few weeks ago. She has only been an authorized user on one of my accounts for the past 12 years so she did apply for some ( )cards in July. Do her inquiries cause a problem for my application for credit with US Bank?"
SUPER:"No. To be more specific, it's not the number of inquiries which concern us as we do have your credit report on file"
ME: (trying to sound helpful) "Back in May, I think, I applied for a credit line increase with a Citi credit account(OK - 4 cards)"
SUPER:"Is 123 Main Street your home address? And you don't use it for any business operation or anything like that?"
ME: "No. I don't. What's wrong? I don't understand why it's taking so long. I thought you verified my address with the faxed information from last week (8/11/2008)?"
SUPER:"It's not so much the number of inquiries that is of concern, rather the volume of recent applications being generated from your address. Usually, VISA/MC has between 0 and 10 applications reported from a xyz address - your address was well over 100"
ME: (now concerned about fraud)"I assure you that 123 main street is my address but now I'm concerned about fraud - What can I do? Do I contact VISA/MC?"****
SUPER:"We will continue to work with TransUnion (note she didn't say VISA/MC) to investigate further"
****so which one of you discovered my address and is applying for credit?

PoisnBGood said: I can't tell if you're joking. How many applications would you expect on an address after 3 AORs?I am joking...
One piece of information the supervisor mentioned was "the number of applications doesn't match..."
She stopped at the word "match." I chose not want to awaken the USBank tiger... and didn't clarify her comment.
Theory: Perhaps they use a VISA/MC fraud alert report available through TransUnion. Has TU band-aided their bumpage problem by offering institutional clients a canned VISA/MC report?

and that...
If you are approved for an account, you will be able to make balance transfers under this offer until December 1, 2008
furthermore...
BALANCE TRANSFER TRANSACTION FEE: 3% for each balance transaction made under this offer, with a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $75.
