anyone ?
My DW had a new card approved but closed upon receiving the card as a course of AA.
This showed on EQ around last weekend, which is about when yours showed.
It says closed upon creditor's request showing only .5k limit.
It's really worrying me as I am preparing for biz AOR.
Is yours current and maybe w/ balance?
Mine does still carry balance while they close it. I was testing to see if they will issue me another one since I am offcially not having a card with them, but I have not pay off the old card yet. It has been over two weeks and so far I receive nothing from them regards to my new application.

"We regret that we're unable to approve you for a credit card account due to the following reason(s):
Sufficient credit is available on your account issued by Barclays Bank Delaware "

That is about what I thought, since I have not heard anything for two weeks.

alert mods

We're a bit off my AOR2.0, but it seems appropriate given the amount of Bank Atlantic / Juniper Biz stuff in this thread...

Call and ask for the difference between your closed balance and your closed credit line. Ask them to apply that difference to the new application so that it may be approved.

of course, you have to report back here your experience

Thanks to bob for posting his ics report, I just requested mine to give some hard data points.

jack, so you ended up getting a new Bank ATL with the old one closed and showing a balance? your barclays journey was confusing to say the least. could you summarize and tell us what you would do differently in hindsight?

  1. I closed old Bank Atlantic (with balance)
  2. I applied and was immediately denied for new Bank Atlantic card
  3. I called Barclays credit to move 15k of old Bank Atlantic credit line to personal Juniper National Park line
  4. I called Barclays credit and rep offered to move $15k personal line in order to approve Bank Atlantic app
  5. I paid off remaining old Bank Atlantic card balance
  6. I called to move the remaining $14k credit line from old Bank Atlantic to Juniper National Park card.
  7. I called and asked to move $14k of the National Park card to the existing Bank Atlantic business card.

National Park card shows new credit line of just $1k. For new Bank Atlantic, credit line of $29k ($15k to open + $14k reallocated)

I would definitely do things differently just as markkundinger suggests (also numbered below). I believe Glitch is doing it right too.

  1. Reallocate Bank Atlantic biz to the personal card
  2. close the old Bank Atlatic biz card
  3. get a new business card (Bank Atlantic or Juniper Biz)
  4. Reallocate from personal to business.

nice. you started with ~30K of CL, and ended with ~30K. perfect.

I consolidated my Citi credit into the Associated card (now a 28k line).

I am still missing decisions for my CHASE and Iberia apps but as it stands this morning, my "brand new" credit (excludes reallocations and consolidations) = 68,500 (of which 33k is personal) HOWEVER, with consolidations and reallocations, my "new" credit is 136,300 (of which 71k is personal). With all the shifting of existing credit over to new, this is how my total credit profile looks today:

                      TOTAL PERSONAL BUSINESS
"new 0%" credit = 136,300 71,000 65,300
existing credit = 180,100 156,700 23,400
GRAND TOTAL CR = 316,400 227,700 88,700

                      TOTAL PERSONAL BUSINESS
"planned 0%" BT$ = 122,692 60,520 87,092
Cred utilization = 38.7% 26.5% 70.0%

JACK YOU FOOL!

(just wanted to get your attention there)

It looks like you're going to do your advance on your Citibank associated bank card. I would strongly exhort you not to do such a thing, for the very important reason that you have a perfectly good citibusiness card with a 0% offer as well. Reallocating to that, and doing the advance, will do wonders on preserving your credit score. My only caution would be to keep "enough" credit limit on the personal side, since you won't be able to reallocate back.

There are two other "advance" strategies that might override this advice:

1) You want to do a lot of spending on the cashreturns card during its promo period, you could reallocate credit there.
2) You already intend to float a 0% balance on the Associated card, then pay it off, then reallocate to the business card in <12 months, then take advantage of the biz card 0% deal.

But otherwise, I vote to go for the business BT.

Whoah, wait - does Citi do this dance? I've got a $24k new Ass Bank and a new $8k biz line, but almost all my personal credit from all issuers save AM3X is available for 12mo BT; any Citi limits left on personal cards, then, is about 50% dead money to me (since I stay under 50% personal util.). I've looked through the reall thread a few times - is this confirmed that Citi is becoming reall friendly, enough so that pers->biz works? I really don't want to spook these guys...

alert mods

I'll give myself 20 lashes for asking back-to-back questions of personal interest in someone else's A0R thread - but Jack, you still don't have answers yet from some issuers? Have you called and talked with anyone for the remaining? As I'd said before, I'm a bit antsy about that, what with my "looking better on paper" status; but I'm getting impatient and I fired off 5 days after you.

This is not the most timely datapoint but I was able to move citi personal to business (with a 0% bt offer) back in late October. I used the "need to make a big purchase" line on the csr. Its worth a try.

People have been consolidating pers->biz with citibank for a long time.

Try it you'll like it.

markkundinger said:JACK YOU FOOL!In fact, I initiated a BT check with the Associated card (26% personal utilization will not raise eyebrows anywhere - I'm expecting)

I like the idea of using the business BT @ month 11 but like the CASH Returns card option even better. To clarify,

  1. Between months 10-11 of the Associated card life, apply for a CASH Returns card (note that I'm going to fund a new Citibank account with my wife's CASH Returns card first before I take the plunge)
  2. with new line, payoff and consolidate the Associated credit line into the CASH returns card
  3. Open Citibank EZ checking and/or Ultimate Savings account with initial funding done with the CASH Returns card (this assumes cash returns card isn't already dead)

Iberia sent me a denial letter: Too much revolving credit which is funny to me because as of yesterday morning, I'm seeing TU Bumpage

The following have fallen off:

  • BRCLYSBANKDE 8/19
  • DISCOVER FIN 8/19
  • PULASKI/IBER 8/19
  • WASHMTL/PROV 8/18

I use:

  1. PM123
  2. TureCredit
  3. National City IDProtect
  4. CHASE Identity Protect
  5. AMEX Credit Secure
  6. Credit Karma

CHASE approved my personal card for 7,000 but the rep could not process a "line consolidation" to biz due to a "security hold." I got transferred and was asked 3 multiple choice questions to confirm my identity:

  1. What is my height as listed on my state issued driver's license (a=5'8", b=5'10" or c=6'0")
  2. What county is your former address located in? (a=Sanborne, b=SIS or c=DaveHanson)
  3. Which of the following addresses have you lived at previously? (a=123 Main Ave, b=$$$$ SIS or c=Reigning Moneyville DaveHanson)

After answering all questions correctly, she transferred me back to biz rep for line consolidation. I moved 6k of the 7k to my 23,800 business card.

I was denied my Wells Fargo application initially. Wells Fargo credit analysts stated the credit policy is to only allow one card at a time. After confirming reopening was possible, I asked to close my $16,500 existing line to try and take advantage of an excellent BT offer on the new application. The credit rep said wait a few days for their decision on the new application.

I ended up being approved for $8,000 (a far cry from 16,500) but the $$$ is BT FEE FREE:

  • Balance Transfer Fee: The fee is $0 for the first 30 days the account is open and after that, 3% of the amount of each balance transfer, but not less than $5 or more than $75.

Interesting jack, and I may have missed it before but how long had the old card bene closed? i've got one that's been closed a few months. Do you know if "reopening" would require a hard inquiry? do you have a number for WF's credit ninja department?

Do you know if "reopening" would require a hard inquiry? do you have a number for WF's credit ninja department?I applied while my first card was still open to test their policy of 1 card per person. Per my multiple card research, I was told:You usually can have only one Wells Fargo credit card account with you as the only cardholder.

You can close you account one day and submit an application the next day
When I called for the status of my application the credit rep confirmed their policy of 1 card per person. It was during the app status call that I requested closure of my existing 16500 card. (To your question regarding hard inquiry for reopen): I asked, "If I close my existing card (so that the new application can be considered) and I am denied, can I reopen the closed card without a hard inquiry?"

Her response was, "if the request to reopen is within 60 days of closure, a hard inquiry is not needed."

Frankly, I don't believe Wells would deny my new application and then reopen my closed line without a hard review.

YMMV

edit: 800-967-9521 is direct line to credit department

I deposited a $29000 check from CHASE biz card this morning.

USBank deposit of $7000 posted to my checking account on 8/30 (original request date was 8/27).

I am still waiting for Bank Atlantic to approve 1 of my 2 BT requests submitted online on 8/28. They approved sending $8750 on 9/2 but not the $20000. Today marks the 5th business day waiting for them to send the $20000.

I am still waiting (8/27 request) for Discover's checks to use for deposit to checking.

I applied last night for one final 2.0 card (CASH Returns)... New Citi savings... here I come

I enrolled 9/4 in CreditCheckTotal. When I tried enrolling on 8/4, I could not get this product due to Experian freeze. I have temporarily lifted the freeze and was able to enroll.

I called 866-506-7894 to try and cancel/re-enroll in the Credit Check Total product to gain ability of immediate daily pulls. Unfortunately, it is not possible for the Credit Check Total program - you have to wait the obligatory 7-9 days before you can do daily pulls.

During the same call, I asked if there were any promotions currently available... rep said for 3 months, I could get Credit Check Total for $19.95 rather than $29.95....
