Pangloss1980 said:is anyone able to tell me about Barclay's, Advanta, and USBank in terms of getting BT money into your checking? That is, do I need a BoA card as a clearinghouse for them?
You can call Advanta and do a BT to a checking account with a routing and account number over the phone. Just be aware their fraud department calls the day after to verify the BT. Make sure you are around to answer the phone. They just ask if you authorized a BT. Say yes and you're golden.
Barclays will only BT to a credit card (no checking options), and you have to split them in 20k increments and pay fees on each (no BTs higher than 20k). A little bit of a PITA, but hey that's the cost of an AOR. |

Pangloss1980 said:Discover does not currently offer a 0% BT on any biz card. AND they couldn't give me a new (personal) card without taking the CL from the existing card. Craptacular.
Depressingly low CL on the personal Chase card, considering another app before business closes - no one has weighed in on whether I should go for it or not. Thoughts? I wouldn't push Chase as they are known for being tough with Adverse Action.
Can you elaborate on the Discover issue? I wonder if they would have let you consolidate and reallocate from Biz back to Personal to take advantage of a BT. I am actually going to try this with my AOR 2.0. Gonna see if I can close my business line and see if I can get my limit moved back to my personal Miles card. |

On Discover: They wouldn't give me any new credit with the app, that's all that happened - I didn't have any biz credit with them before, and when I realized there were no good Discover biz cards anymore I chose to not move my existing CL with them to biz, but instead to my new personal BT card. Added Nat'l City Quilters because... no reason.
Now I just wait and see - I'd check the status of any apps that didn't force me to talk to someone, but I think at this point I just have to sit and wait and watch. |

I think these guys are showing themselves to be not worthwhile for anyone. The fee is $0 for first 30 days, so I guess I'll BT $3k just so I'm actually using it and maybe they'll give me a real offer for 3.0; but given that it seems there may be a premium these days on minimizing inquiries, I think WF can be added to the "ignore" list, no matter what your relationships is with them. I had a Wells fargo checking account and got two WF credit cards, one with 6 mos 0% and the other 9 mos. Both had a $15.5K CL. I considered that worthwhile. HHI $138K. |

Regarding Wells, I guess two years ago, I got a $9k limit from WF. My income was lower (but totally legit), my checking account was longstanding but zero balance, and I had a lot of inquiries. It was a pretty good credit line for the time. I got a small CL about 10 months later. And about 6 months after that the card was closed for inactivity . Could be general tightening, could be bad luck. I don't think a $45k balance (especially brokerage, where they make no money) would really qualify you as a big slinger in their eyes. |

Ignoring that they probably love my brokerage money, because I sit in cash so much of the time (not even a money market fund because I want to be able to dip in and out of the market at a moment's notice), they don't have any levels that are past $25k really. I guess the thing that surprised me about WF was that they've seen last year's A0R $ go through their system, see $45k in my account with them, have a longstanding relationship, see the same FICO as others, and unless I misremembered WF didn't ask _personal_ income questions (my explanation for the low Chase limits - I've been with them forever, but other issuers throw far more at me, relative to other FWers' results; because my HHI is disproportionate to my own), and still only coughed up small beans. But hell, somehow USBank gave me insta-approval for $10k - not huge compared to others I've seen, but not nothin. Sounding more and more like a YMMV - though I'll still hold that at least it gets put into the category of "Unlikely to do well with unless..." rather than the big boys we all know and love so much. |

Some time-line info possibly useful for those who are thinking of running their own A0R: I started my apps at about 10 am EST on a Tuesday (yesterday), going with the old conventional wisdom that it will take them less time to go through your stuff once the weekend apps have been cleared, and starting early so all the pulls happen at the same time. (I can't speak to the merits of the strategy, just following advice from others on that.) This was 2.0 for me, and I had many more instant approvals than last time: Advanta was instant but didn't give a figure, Citi personal was instant (and large), WF was instant (and small), USBank was instant (and medium. Wait, does this make me goldilocks? Shit...). Chase I had to check on, but 30 minutes or so after I applied they told me my personal was approved (for small limit). Discover Biz called _me_ because I evidently failed to check any boxes about having checking or savings accounts - this happened with an hour of my app. Through that call I got my Discover personal opened, don't know how long it would have taken otherwise. CitiBiz e-mailed me this morning (22 hours after app) with my $7500 new line (it's my first biz card, so whatever, not great but then my biz stats weren't awe-inspiring). I have not called any issuers for my applications with them that haven't been responded to because, as stated above, I look better on paper than I do after even minimal probing. That's all info I have 28 hours after launch. I have credit report and score monitoring from myF1CO, and didn't hear anything, and since I didn't get any rejections I haven't known how to check who's been talking to which bureau and when... |

This is a dumb question I know, but last year I applied for the BOA PlatPlus Card. Did the BT. Now its just sitting there. Can I apply for the card again? I would like to because the trems are so good. Should I call and get it converted into another card and then apply for it? Thanks. |

General questions like this should probably go to one of the general threads, like SIS's main A0R thread PMs to some of our more generous members may also work, but you'll generally find them more inclined to respond if you've given something to the FW community - by documenting your own results, experiences, etc. Also, phrase the question like this: "I have a nice card already from issuer X, but the best offer they seem to have available to new card-holders is for the same card I already have. Is there any rule of thumb for whether you can get two of the same card from the same issuer? Is [issuer X] any different? /lecture My answer is: I'm pretty sure at least some lenders allow duplicates of some cards; but I don't know how widespread this is, and I don't know about BoA in particular. You could pose the question in a thread dedicated to the issuer or to the card itself if you wanted. |

Update: 48 hours since A0R Nothing new to report except a Nat'l City call from this morning (48 hrs after A0R). I'd applied for that card late in my A0R - 5-6 hours after the other apps. Rep asked if I had been the one applying for all the new credit. I hadn't faced that question before, so on the spot I decided to go with "Yeah, I applied for any card I could want to see which was the best offer, and I was told to do that all on the same day, like car-loan or mortgage shopping, because then it doesn't look like you're desperate for credit." Ok, so it doesn't make any sense, and she knew that, but all she was interested in was whether it was fraudulent, which I assured her it wasn't. Decided not to bother asking whether/how much I was approved, so status still TBD. |

Update 86 hours after A0R 2.0: Last night myFICO finally registered all these inquiries - my score (EQ) dropped 22 points. 10 minutes ago Barclay's (personal) finally made up their mind on me - rejected because of the number of recent inquiries (they used TU). I'll check TU to see how many have been asking about me in a bit, but it's time to enjoy some Minnesota camping! I'm now assuming a rejection or worthless card from Nat'l City personal, and am not optimistic about any of the business lines I haven't heard from - hopefully Chase comes through with at least one, I really like those terms. (And does Chase do personal->biz reallocation? Ftm, does anyone?) |

Not that it was AOR or anything, but yes, Chase did reallocate 5k personal -> business for me. |

Chase has fairly slow response time (full two weeks sometimes), so there's still hope. And yes, personal -> biz reallocation is easy unless you get on their "credit ninja blacklist". |

Hmmm... "Franklinton Financial Services" of Columbus OH recently pulled my EQ - but on the 29th, when the others grabbed it on the 27th. Who is this, and why are they so slow? Advanta, FUSA (Citi), USBancorp and Chase all show on the 27th, but this one was a laggard. |

Franklinton? Sounds sketchy. If it's not a russian ID theft ring, then I'd vote Nat City, they're based in Ohio. |

Updates, again for those looking for a timeline for when they do their own A0Rs: 5 days after A0R my score took another small dip, (down 7 to 747) because two new accounts were added to my report. I'm wondering if this is showing that I've miss-played this a bit - both new accounts (Discover and BoA) replaced old ones (only way for me to get the line I wanted with the 0% card)... did I just shorten my credit history? And today, 7 days after A0R, Chase calls to tell me I can only have two of the three cards I asked for. I didn't receive the call, but as it stands I have the crap-limit personal and a nice-terms (15mo 0%) small limit biz for 9k (that was a new approval today). Transferring from personal to biz for both Chase and Citi is obviously my dream here now, especially since almost all my personal from all issuers except AM3X is available for 0% BT... Figuring out how to play those reall phone calls, and how to prioritize them, is my biggest concern at the moment. |

Told you Chase was slow YES, you want to reallocate personal to business for Chase and Citibank. With Chase, you might be able to reallocate all at once. With Citibank, make sure you call the business CSR, and work one reallocation at a time. Transfer no offer personal cards first, then, last step, reallocate the 0% personal offers to business too if you want to hide those balances. You will probably have to wait a couple days between each attempt. |

Credit non-ninja #1 from Chase tells me no personal to biz reall. I'll try again when I've got the new biz card in hand. |
