I will preface this by saying that credit card companies are getting much faster at reporting and verifying inquiries on Experian. All of the inquiries related to Experian IMMEDIATELY posted to my credit report, and after the first 6 each additional inquiry report in the card issuer declining. Mailed information explicitly stated the only reason for declining the card was excessive inquiries on the account. TU and EQ did not post as rapidly, but after only 2 TU inquiries the rest were declined.

Me:
Mid 20's $85,000 base salary, did not report bonus of 17k. $1650/mo rent but room mate pays $450 so reported as $1200. All credit agencies reporting over 740 credit score, 760 on TU. After Apporama credit scores dropped from 722-731. 2 years at current resident, 3 years with current employer. No requests for income verification from any credit issuer.

The Apps:

US Bank Baylor Alumni Deferred $12,000 approval
Discover Open Roads Approved $8,000
AMEX Cash Rewards Blue Deferred $2,000 (called, threatened to close account, raised to $7,000)
Associated Bank Approved $15,000
Iberia Bank Approved $15,000
Chase Platinum Visa Deferred $10,000
Bank of America Platinum Plus Deferred $15,000 (have BoA checking and saving)
Capital One Custom Declined Excessive Inquiry
HSBC Platinum Declined Excessive Inquiry and Trades on Account (wtf are trades on account?)
Citi Cash Returns Declined Excessive Inquiry
Citibank Universal ATT Declined Excessive Inquiry
Citibank Platinum Select Declined Duplicate Application (Universal ATT Pending)
Juniper Bank Declined Excessive Inquiry, Late payments (no late payments on any report)

Total $82,000.

Discover Open Roads BT is 12 months, but it doesn't start until you make a transfer. With inflation so high I'm using the Baylor card for purchases with a balance to xfer to the Discover card as backup for the balance in July 2009. I can transfer the balance off, and delay payments for 23 months. With inflation at 5.5% its effectively discounting those purchases by 11%. I called Discover they may add 50% to the credit limit.

Only Associated Bank offered a welcome check for Balance Transfer. BoA balance transferred into my savings account and then begged me to open a 3% 12 month CD. I told the teller with inflation at 5.5% they couldn't get me to open it if they doubled the rate. She looked confused and stopped the pitch.

Waiting on replies from 3 other deferred applications, will update on arrival.

can you link to the apps you applied for?

tell us about iberia bank?

also what was the reason for application was it low BT for life? or 0% for 12 months (low or no fee?)

HSBC Platinum Declined Excessive Inquiry and Trades on Account (wtf are trades on account?)

Trades are trade lines which means open accounts on your credit report.

I pulled my apps from the App-O-Rama website, ahselfs app-o-rama, and Mike R's app-o-rama.

Make sure and read the details of the offers. A lot of apps listed on other people's app-o-ramas were 12 mo or even 15 mo but when I did mine the offers had dropped to 6 mo and some even just the first 30 days. I didn't apply for any card that was less than 12 mo or had a membership fee.

Iberia already changed the terms of the BT. Mine is 12mo but the website now shows only 6mo.

Small update-

BoA said 15k, card came as 10,800. Phone call to them raised it back to 15k. Not sure if it was AA or just a mistake.
