Update: All cards are paid off. Made about $2000 in cash before taxes. Closed Citi Cards used in the AOR because reading various threads, Citi has a maximum number of cards they will issue per person, and a maximum credit limit they will let you have based upon your household income. On 8/18/2008 I pulled all 3 of my credit reports from annualcreditreport.com and disputed all trade lines with all 3 agencies. Waiting a week for the credit cards to update with the agencies and all balances to report 0. Then I will apply for all the cards on AOR 2.0.
Goals: To get as much money as I can to put in FNBO, HSBC, and Emigrant Direct to collect interest on.
Planning stages: Household Income is $42,600. I'm single, 29, live alone, work in state government in IT. Cash on hand in Amboy Direct is $6000. Signed up for bonus $75 BofA checking account http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/841510?highlight_key=y&keyword1=%2475. Comments in thread said if you use your BofA login when signing up, it is a soft pull.
Existing cards from the AOR: Bank of America Platinum Plus MC with $21,400 limit BankAtlantic Business MC with $15,000 limit US Bank Baylor Alumni Visa with $15,000 limit Chase SonyCard Visa with $21,700 limit Discover Miles Card with $4100 limit National City Visa with $7500 limit Kroger 123 Rewards MC with $12,500 limit
Existing Cards not from AOR: Chase Platinum Visa with $2700 limit (oldest card, from 2004) Chase Freedom Visa with $500 limit (got it for a sign up bonus, reallocated its limit to the Sony Style above) Chase Rewards Plus Visa with $6000 limit (daily spender, has a balance around $1500 I pay off monthly) Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa with $8000 limit (use at sams club and incase Chase ever ends the RPV, $50 balance) Citi Diamond Preferred Visa with $6100 limit (has a $3069.31 balance at 0% for life)
Strategies: Apply for National City card first since they wait a couple of days before checking your credit and freak if they see a bunch of hard credit pulls on your report. After a few days then apply for the other cards. National City will do BT's over the phone.
Not sure who underwrites Coastal Federals CC's. Does anyone know? Worse comes to worse, I'll launder through a Citi card.
Only applying for AMEX card for the $100 gift card after first purchase.
Will Make purchases on Citi cards to satisfy the Thank you points requirements and then do a BT on the ones that have no BT Fee.
Discover sends BT checks a few days after receiving the card, or can send BT checks if you call. Will consolidate my current card to the discover more card. Getting the other discover card for the free digital camera and then will sell my current Canon A570is on eBay.
Going easy on Chase because I don't want to lose my rewards cards with them. Will consolidate the SonyCard to the business card and move $2200 from my platinum Visa to the business card also. Chase does hard pulls on consolidations/reallocations.
US Bank will mail BT Checks to anyone with an account number, so I will have them mail directly to FNBO Direct.
As for the 2 Juniper Cards, they are underwritten by Barclay's, so I will consolidate the I Fly America to the Juniper Business Card, and consolidate my BankAtlantic card to the Juniper Business Card also. They will only mail BT checks to CC's, so I will launder it to Citi and request a refund from Citi.
Not sure if Wachovia will BT to checking or send checks, may have to launder through Citi.
For Bank of America, I will consolidate whatever credit limit I get on the NEA Card and my limit on my current MasterCard to the new Platinum Plus MC, and then do a BT to checking account over the phone.
Advanta will BT to checking over the phone or send checks, I can't remember which. I'll call them after getting card to find out.

Ooh, an Irish card.
Is it really worth the special scheduling for the Nat City quilter's card when it's only 6 months? (I don't know what their reconciliation story is).
Jackcrawfish just reported that it's a max of one biz card at Barclays. These are untested waters, but your juny biz app might have problems.
Advanta has been very... erratic lately, both in the credit lines they grant and in the revised terms and conditions on their cards (speaking rudely to a CSR can trigger a default rate... not kidding).
I don't think you can get two Citiprofessional cards at once.
In general, I think you've got too many citibank apps. In theory their allocation buckets may support the cards (except for Pro), but there's a chance that they're just to skittish to allow it.
Likewise, two simultaneous Discover More apps runs a chance of one getting canceled as a duplicate or something else weird happening.
Wachovia apps are phone unless you have a bank account, and most attempts to get a card in an AOR with them seem to have failed.
Instead of personal AXP Gold for 10k, MR points, how about a Biz Gold for 25k MR points? there is no rush at all on citibank BT's, since the clock doesn't start until you finally make the transfer. This is fine because reallocation can take so long.
Coastal looks like BB&T from the link. Don't know anything about either, check if you're in their lending area.

Will you use your true household income or exaggerate? I lie outrageously and no one has ever called me on it. I thought you pretty much have to if you want large lines.

i think 6 months with the national city is worth the effort and applying early. And I think you're right about the Discover More cards. I'll drop the one with giving the camera and add a discover business card here and drop the Juniper I Fly America card and Citi Professional MC.

I will probably exaggerate. Last year when I did my AOR I had a gf living with me that made our combined income $80k.
Discover More Card 6 months, $75 BT Fee, free cameraIn my experience, it's actually 12 months 0% $75 fee + camera. You might want to scratch your first MORE card app and go with the camera offer one as Discover only allows 1 account every 10 monthsUS Bank Linux Card 12 months, $0 BT Fee when using offer code 45248 when doing the BT US Bank Irish Visa 12 months, no BT feePersonally, I think one USBank is enough as althes reportsPeoples Bank [RBS] Platinum MC 9 months, $60 BT FeeI was denied and as I understand CLR is not an option from RBS 123 Kroger cards

Just an FYI, the first part is incorrect. The second part is what limits you. I've had 9 Citi cards before. The only limits are on how many you can apply for at any given time. Good luck though, I'll be watching.

Reallocate Bank Atlantic biz to the personal card
close the Bank Atlantic biz card
then get a new business card (Bank Atlantic or Juniper Biz)
Reallocate from personal to business.
for those out there withOUT an active Juniper/Barclays line, his steps can be modified:
close the Bank Atlantic biz card
When you get denied because of too much Barclays credit, call 866-408-4064 and ask them to move recently closed line in order to open new line
YMMV (I was told no by one of the Barclays credit analysts)
In my AOR Here Both Citi and barclays/bank alantic closed all cards within a month of the AOR due to "too many new accounts", "too much new credit". Be sure to take the BT's quick before they close the accounts.
and only one discover card.. they did not process the 2nd "duplicate app"
i applied for the national city quilters reward card this morning. I'll apply for everything else this weekend unless I hear back from national city before then.

So, my experience on Discover: Applied to biz card Applied to open road card Biz called to ask for more info, approval after call Checked online status to see Personal app was canceled as a duplicate Called Personal CSR to tell them I wanted both cards, because I want to split my biz and personal purchases CSR approved over the phone and said I can get a even higher CL if I prove my income
4 days later, I received 5 letters from Discover: Letter stating they need more info for biz Letter stating my personal app was canceled Letter stating I can get a higher CL if I prove my income for personal card Biz card Personal card
I have since activated both, signed on to see them both online, and faxed over my pay stub. I think that Discover will auto cancel the 2nd app because they THINK its a duplicate. But you can call to try and get both. Of course this is with a biz and personal, not sure about 2 personals.
Also, I was a AU on my wife's Discover More card prior to my AOR. Hope that helps anyone looking to score 2 Discover cards at once.

They don't exist as far as I know. But the card does have a $40 credit offers rebate, as well as a $100 credit after spending $100 in 3 months. That's $140 for your effort. Plus there are ways to abuse the 0% purchase, such as funding checking accounts with it. I myself will be paying a $2k+ tuition bill with mine. Good luck.

US Bank will mail BT Checks to anyone with an account number, so I will have them mail directly to FNBO Direct.FYI, the code you mention was specific to my wife's AOR... In my own AOR, I received a completely different code, so I'd recommend calling and/or emailing to get your own quasi-unique BT code.

This is one of the reasons why I may take it easy on my AOR2.0. I am probably only going to go after the majors (BoA, Citi, Chase, Barclays).
Maybe I won't get as much available credit, but I will limit my adverse action. Citi already closed all my accounts once. And I have an exceptionally high line currently with Chase (71k) and Barclays (42k). I don't want to lose these as well.
I plan on using Rewards 6% checking accounts to park money so I offset some of the hit I am taking by going "easy".

Why don't you call them and ask them to consolidate the existing personal card to the new card you tried to apply for?

got some letters in the mail. approved for the advanta small business card and will receive it in a few days. got the discover card $8000 limit. waiting on BT checks to come in the mail. got the att universal platinum card w/ 4900 limit. got the citi associated bank visa w/ $15000 limit. got the NEA BofA card too with 15000 limit. got an email from Citi AT&T Rewards Business, approved with 10k credit line.
I consolidated my old BofA CC from my last AOR onto the new NEA card for a limit of $36500 and did a $18200 BT to my local bank's checking account that is linked to various online savings accounts. should have the money in there friday or monday the rep said.
Called national city and lady on the phone said that you can have more the one personal card with national city but its determined on overall credit worthyness and the main reason I was denied was the excessive new tradelines. However she let me close my old national city card with the $7500 limit and then approved me for the quilters reward card w/ $10,000 limit and she said in the welcome package will be a BT check I can make out to myself and deposit in my local bank's checking account.
Got a letter from Barclay's denying my I Fly America card. I called them up, spoke with a lady, who took a little bit more information from me and then approved me for $10000 and will be mailling the card out soon. I know from my last one that the welcome package comes with 1 BT check that can be deposited into checking.
got the advanta card with 17k limit. called them up, guy said their system would only let me do a 16490 BT, so I did $16390 because of the $90 BT fee. they are direct depositing it into my personal checking account.
called Peoples Bank and told I was declined and will receive a letter in the mail as to why. Called BankAtlantic CSR and got a new number to call (866) 408-4064 (i added it to the application status thread) and called it and said I was declined. She said I could move 5k from my juniper card to it but then I'd only have a 5K balance on the bank atlantic biz card and the juniper i fly america card comes with a BT check in the welcome package where as the bank atlantic card doesn't (have to launder it through citi). So anyway I told her I don't know why I was declined because I did have a bank atlatnic biz card but closed it at the end of august so I could re-apply and take advantage of the BT offer. She said her system wouldn't let her see recently closed cards, but she would note that on the application and submit it for re-evaluation and that it would take 48 hours for them to reach a decision. So I agreed to that. Then about an hour later on my phone got a call from an unlisted number. I answered and Megan from barclay's called and said I was declined because I already have a BankAtlantic BizCard and you can only have one barclay's business card per SSN. I told her I didn't anymore. (I think what happened was that when I cancelled my previous bankatlantic biz card, it cancelled the card, but that doesn't close out my business account ID with them) Anyway she said she could close me out of the business card system and then would approve me for $15k, so I said yes to that and she said i'd get the card in 7-10 days.
so that's pretty much it, just waiting for the cards to come in and use the BT checks with them (Discover, Juniper). When the US Bank card comes in, consolidate and then have them mail a check directly to FNBO. Maybe call Peoples again once I get the letter depending on why I was denied. Launder BankAtlantic through a citi card, then do BT's with citi online. Once I get the Chase business card, consolidate and use the BT check in the welcome package, sit back, relax, and watch the interest grow.
Good results and much helpful information on Advanta and Bank Atlantic.
I will try to mirror your results when I AOR 2.0 in about a month.
Did you have any issues with CLR with Citi to the associated bank card or have you tried? I have huge lines on the professional card that were CLR'd from the Diamond preferred card so if I have to CLR back to the diamond to the associated that would be fine.
Also how were the CLR's on juniper and US bank or have you tried yet?
I suspect it might be best to do exactly what Squeezer did, as opposed to having them remove you from system before applying. That way they know they have approved you in the past for a certain CL, and would more likely to approve you for more credit the second time around.

I have not tried a CLR to the assoc. bank visa. my understanding is that citi won't do CLR's to cards with 0% BT offers according to other threads on FWF. althought when i cancelled my citi business cards from AOR 1.0 the retension specialist said he could do reallocations to 0% cards and does it all the time, but I know they'll say anything to keep you from cancelling.
Haven't tried a CLR on juniper because its the only personal Barclay's card I have. the previous juniper card I had was closed by barclay's a couple of months after I deposited the BT check. Haven't tried a CLR on the US Bank card because I haven't received my US Bank Linux card yet (although I got an email on 9/6 saying i'd get it in 7-10 days. I can report back in this thread on what happens when I try to CLR from my US Bank Baylor alumni card to the Linux card.
got a call from Advanta this morning and they left a voicemail. said it was about unusual activity on my account. called them back, the rep said was because of the BT but that they just needed my confirmation that i did request the BT. Called US Bank after getting the Linux card over the weekend. They don't do consolidations/reallocations, so I had them close my baylor card and submit my request for a CLI and I should hear something back from them in 10 days. Called back Peoples after getting a letter in the mail saying I was denied for "Unable to verify credit references as provided" Called them up and got transferred around a few times and then the rep asked me if I had applied for a lot of cards recently and if so, why. and I stated that I did, to take advantage of BT offers. She said ok, asked me a couple of questions (employer, income, etc) and then said OK that she would re-submit my app and I should hear back. So I guess Peoples/RBS is like National City in that they wait a couple of days after applying before pulling your report. They pulled Equifax according to their letter.
also my citi AT&T business rewards CC came in
