As a result of member feedback, we've learned that a heads up may be needed here in Finance about some good financial deals being discussed in Hot Deals. We've recently run a series of threads with incentive promotions for Discover Card. In each thread, you can become eligible to receive a certain item (GPS, iPod, Digital Camera, ect) with approval & activation of Discover Card.
Though initially met with some skepticism, shared experience has led to these offers being well-received by the community. Members are reportedly receiving incentives as advertised, within a reasonable timeframe. A nice variety of products are still being offered:
These offers are also being discussed here.
We want to provide you with useful information. Please let us know how we are doing by answering the following poll:

Thanks sushiosushi. I'll add a link to that summary in the OP.
The Hot Deals forum links in this thread may also be useful to those new to these Discover incentives - since they show the history of members experiences with the offers.
Jul 15, I applied Discover card via http://www.mymp3playeroffer.com/ While I was thinking how to inform MyMP3PlayerOffer.com that I have activated the card, on Jul 29 I got their mail said "We are currently processing your order, your iPod Nano will arrive from Amazon.com." Aug 22, got shipment tracking email. 4 days later, my wife was happly listening iPod.
Applied Aug 16th, got the camera Sept 3rd. That was way faster than I thought it would be. Very cool! I should email this to all my friends! Thanks Fatwallet!

You only need to activate the card or you actually have to use the card to trigger it?

Terms and Conditions - In addition to applying for the credit card, you must be approved and activate the Discover credit card. Activation is defined as making a purchase, balance transfer or cash advance with this credit card.
They offered me 10$ in extra Cash Back if I spent $100 in 28 days. Is that normal. The CSR did that after I told them I was disappointed about my low CL.

They gave me the same offer, but I didn't complain about anything. They actually gave me a rather high limit (and more if I was willing to fax proof of household income).

I see they just added a new restriction of "New Card Member". Has anyone tried to get a second item from Discover since they added this new term? I got the Canon camera in June. I want the ipod too but don't know if it's worth the credit hit if I'm not going to get it.
