The gas certificate is a scam. I got one a $100 certificate from Superior Chrysler. It require you to pay $5 upfront when you register. Then, it requires you to send them gas receipts totaling $100 or more each month for a total of 4 months. You will get 4x$25 dollars back. They need to receive your receipts before the 25th of each month. If you miss one, then, you will not get the $25 for that month and you will also forfeit your $5 you paid upfront. There is no status you can check on website. It looks more like a scam to me. So, if it's a $300 gas certificate, I would assume they would require you to collect $300 worth of gas receipts every month and still need to make sure those receipts get to them before the 25th of the month. So, you will have less than 20 days to spend $300 on gas.

So on day 1 you fill up your car, in between, and on day 20 fill up your car, and then all that time in between and ask all friends and family members for their receipts. Say you'll give them 25% or something. Then, when you're at the gas station doing your own fill ups, see if you can find random receipts. I almost always see a receipt here or there. With gas prices the way they are today, it shouldn't take more than 6 or 7 receipts in a 20-day period from yourself and a few other sources to easily reach $300.

Same offer available at local Kia dealer in Atlanta.

I got a $225 certificate from a test drive 2 weeks ago. It was for freegascentral.com. You can check out their website for full details, but the gist is that you have to select a particular brand of gas, then spend $100/month there and send in receipts. Every month you do, they promise to send you a $25 gift card.

There is a $5 fee up front, which will supposedly get refunded along with your last month's gift card. The amount of the certificate doesn't change the amount of gas you need to buy each month ($100), but it affects how many months you need to do this at $25/month. My $225 cert. would run for 9 months. A $300 one would take 12 months to redeem.

Like anybody said, if you don't send in the rebate for a given month, you forfeit that $25. The deadline of the 25th is for getting your gift card within 28 business days. Later arriving rebates wait around 60 business days.

They offer some kind of alternative option, but you must email them with all your certificate details to request a list of alternatives. I figured that if you did so, and didn't like your options, you wouldn't be able to go back and just deal with the gas rebates.

My first month starts Monday. My wife and I should be able to reach $100 in time to make the 25th deadline (today I put in just enough to get me past the weekend).

They do say they won't count receipts from the same day, so I guess no begging the guy next to you at the station for his receipt. I am a bit skeptical of the site, but $5 is low enough for me to give it a shot. I can always go back to the dealership and raise hell if they turn out to be a scam.

Anybody have experience with freegascentral.com? Did anyone actually receive a check from this company? I bet they get rich from all the people who send them $5 and then forget it as there are way too many restrictions. Smart business people.

I live down the street in Monterey, but this sounds like too much work and misleading to begin with. $300 of free gas is different than a $25/month MIR for gas

It looks like a great deal, but the $5 thing is crazy. It would be like sending in $5 with a rebate to get the money back.

Any dealer? Is it posted on any website? details please. Thanks in advance.

I sent in my receipts for Jul and August, but haven't got anything back yet.

For this particular deal?

Its with the new Nalley Kia in Marietta, saw their ad on TV yesterday.

Do you guys think that reputable car dealers are gonna associate with scam gas rebate operators? Think it through. It's pretty much like Mithrin described it above. And the guy still waiting for his July/Aug rebate...has it been that long yet? Sheesh I'm still waiting for my June Credit Protector rebates. And PorStaker, true $300 free gas ain't as good as $25/month MIR for 12 months; but $25/month MIR for 12 months ain't bad considering all you had to do to earn it was test drive a car.

Please let us know when you do get the rebate. I also signed up for a similar deal, but mine is for 20 month worth $500. I believe that freebiegas.com and a few others are all the same because the websites are all the same and the vouchers are sent in to the same address. According to the rules you can not sell these to the end user but need to be given away as a promotion. I had to buy mine in bulk or you can get them from e b a y(should not be resold). I will start to redeem my vouchers in October, but if someone gets their rebates before I get mine please post a reply.

same thing here in Scottsdale AZ. at Mark Mitsubisi, $500 worth for test drive, waiting on salesmen to cal back with the coupon info, company name and conditions

I got my certificate for $500 through FREEFUELCENTER.COM they are local in Mesa AZ area.

I went through the FAQ section on site and its similer to the others, the cool thing looks like they give a VISA debit card for $25 a month if a gas station choice of your preference is not available and you can use that card for anything anywhere that takes VISA

FreeFuelCenter.com

Mesa, AZ 85210

F.A.Q.:

What happens if I don't spend $100 on gas during a calendar month?
Then you would not be issued your $25 gift card for that month. The underwriters of the program require that we submit all gas receipts each calendar month and therefore you cannot combine 2 months of receipts to submit them as one. You must spend $100 on gas per month.

What types of fuel can I collect receipts for?
All kinds, including, gas/diesel/propane/bio-diesel/ethanol/methanol or any other combustible fuel sold at the gas station brand you chose during the registration process.

How do I contact customer service?
You may contact customer service 24 hours a day by email at: info@freefuelcenter.com, or by mail at: 1839 S. Alma School Rd., Suite 200 Mesa, AZ 85210.

Why can't I change the brand of gas I choose when I register?
Because FreeFuelCenter.com is designed as a loyalty program. It's just like you choosing a grocery store because their customer loyalty cards give you great discounts. Choosing one specific brand for the redemption period will allow us to provide you with that brand of gas cards at no additional cost.

What happens if the brand of fuel I want to use is NOT on your list of cards?
Then simply choose "Other" and type the brand in the box below that question. We will contact that company to see if they issue gift cards. If not, no need to worry. You can still participate in the program. We will just issue you a $25 Visa gift card instead.

Do I have to use the gift card to get gas?
No. You may use the gas card for anything that the station you fill up at allows you to purchase with their card.

Can the $100 worth of receipts include other things I buy at the store besides gas?
No. This is a brand loyalty program for gas and therefore the receipts you submit must be for $100 worth of gas, not other things.

If I get two certificates can I activate them both at the same time and get a $50 gift card instead of a $25 card?
No. We can only issue ONE gas card for $25 per household during the same redemption period.

How can I take advantage of the two certificates I received?
We suggest you use the lowest value certificate first for the entire redemption period and then when you receive your last gift card you can activate your second certificate.

Can I buy more gas certificates directly from you?
No, you cannot BUY a gas certificate. They are not meant to be sold to consumers. They can only be used as gifts or giveaways from a business or organization. To get more gas certificates try asking the business or organization you got your first one from to offer a new promotion using them again.

Can the $25 gift cards be used as part of the $100 worth of gas spent during the month?
Yes

Do the receipts have to be mailed in by a certain date? Before the end of the month, or before the end of the next month?
The receipts need to be postmark before the end of the month the voucher is for.

What if I have more than $100 per month? Lets say I use $300 per month - will I get $75 gift cards or just $25?
No. We can only issue ONE gas card for $25 per household during the same redemption period.

Where do I mail my vouchers and receipts?
Please mail your receipts and vouchers for the same month to:

FreeFuelCenter.com
1839 S Alma School Road
Suite 200
Mesa, AZ 85210

I registered online where do I pay the $5 fee for registration?
We have waived the $5.00 fee for registration. If you are sending in your certificate and cannot redeem online, there will be a $4.50 shipping and handling fee, non refundable.

Can I fill up two cars?
The only restriction is that our certificates are limited to one per household at a time.

Can I fill up two cars in one day?
You can not have multiple receipts dated for the same day. One receipt totaling $100 or more is acceptable.

When do I have to register my certificate?
You should register your certificate as soon as you can because you cannot collect gas receipts until the following month. If you wait until October to register then you will not be able to collect receipts until November.

I registered online, do I need to send in my certificate?
No, you only need to save your receipts and send in the voucher and receipts for each month.

Update: After waiting the 28 days and more from turning in my first set of receipts, I tried emailing and calling the redemption center. No one ever picked up on the phone calls, and my email was never answered.

So I stopped by the dealer. Managers were in a meeting, but one of the sales guys went in and out a couple times for me. He came back first time and asked for my paperwork, mentioned they might just cut me a check (would have been awesome to get the whole thing done in one go!). Instead he came back and told me the manager had called and talked to the owner of the redemption company, and that my card would be in the mail same day. It arrived 2 days later as a prepaid $25 Visa rather than a Shell card.

Has anyone actually gotten a card back in the mail without having to complain? When I checked with BBB, the redemption company has Unsatisfactory rating with 92 outstanding complaints.

THIS works ALL day long....I have personally received my 2nd card of 25.00..... a friend of mine is a dealer and gave it to me, he works for www.nationalfuelredemption.com

since then, all of our friends and family are doing it as well. PROOF is in my pocket !!!

I did this thru freegasrebate.com. Started in June. Got my June & July rebates in the fall, but nothing since. As of today, the phone number is disconnected and e-mails returned.

You are not the only one. I bought a Kia on Maui in Feb 08 and have been sending in the receipts and self addressed envelopes and have only received 1 $25 rebate certificate. I am looking into starting a class action law suit on Kia as they were the ones to offer this rebate and now after the sale they say it's not their problem, it's the rebate companies problem.

I'm in the same spot with a certificate I got for a test drive. To even get the first card required complaining to the dealer, who called the rebate company. At least I'm now up $20 on the deal. I've called the dealer again, since #2 is now overdue, and the phone number is disconnected. Still haven't heard back from the dealer.

Before you look into a lawsuit against Kia, try filing a BBB complaint against both them and the rebate company. That is my next step. I fully expect the rebate company to care less about yet another complaint, but the car dealership might be more responsive.

that is incorrect. If you received a $300 Gas Cert, all you need to do is send in $100 in gas receipts from the particular gas station/brand that you selected. You will receive a $25.00 Visa gift card. Then, in the next month, collect another $100 in gas receipts, and send it in again. Repeat this 12 times, and whala...$300. Also, if you register your gas cert online, you don't have to pay $4.95 - and if you do choose to mail it in, you only pay the $4.95 once. This issue here, i think, is that you didn't follow directions. Do you think Hyundai, Nissan or Kia would venture into a program that would not honor the gift? Furthermore, potentially harm a potential or new customer? Follow the directions and enjoy the $300 in free gas. It is simple. Hope this helps.

They're just hoping you give up and forget it. The $300 isn't really meant for customers it's meant to get people in the door because they believe they will be handed a $300 gift card to a gas station.

I have submitted my gas receipts to free fuel center since November. Normally, I am very jaded about these things, but I gave it a try, because after all, I'm spending the money anyway. All I had to do is follow their requirements, and it took longer than I expected, but they did come through. I received my 1st $25 in February, and my 2nd in March. So no scam here, just diligence, and patience. I hope this helps anyone who doubts the program. By the way, the program is FreeFuelCenter.com. I cannot speak for other programs by any other name.

No I do know how to spell, all of the i's & e's somehow changed to o's. That's for anyone whom might question the intelligence of this new member. There's alot of "wiseguys" out there!
