Thanks for the interesting data points all.
vaylon said:Also with the boosted credit limits it really didn't make a big dent in my utilization.

I think BOA is feeling it's oats because now it knows its to big to fail.

In light of these data points, there might be something to this, at least short-term. Particularly for prime and "ultra-prime" customers.

I just received 10 months at 3% uncapped on my $50K business line. They wouldn't waive the fee.

These offers vary greatly from one user to the next. There are MANY dependencies that are considered by them (including but not limited to) such as current credit score, credit limit, current balances, past history of payments etc.. There is no sure fire way to guarantee that anyone else is getting the same deal. Its a GREAT deal if you can get in on it. If not then just keep building that perfect credit score and you will be there soon.

One of my cards has the 0% 99max fee. (haven't used for more than 2 years with 14k limit)
I called BOA and requested a direct deposit. The lady saw I had another another credit line that she can add... It was a GoldOption Line of credit. she consolidated to my Platinum card and now i got 25.5k credit line.
So i requested 16.5K to pay off 2 of my 0% cards that just ended. One of em is FIA card.. shhh......

edit: this is on BOA Platinum Visa

1) 12 months 0%, 3% fee, $10 min, $99 max
2) 12.9%, 3% fee, $10 min, $75 max
3) 12 months 0%, 3% fee, $10 min, no max

Thanks, OP. Time to make a phone call and move some CLs around.

Could you please specify which cards, especially card #1, that you're referring to? It might help someone else get the same deal for the same card, if it isn't offered to them already. Thanks!

I tried again to get the fee capped thinking different CS rep might yield different result. No dice. He told me as of June or July 17 (I can't remember which) the whole company got out of the zero interst capped fee biz. They may change it in the future, but for now you either have to accept the higher interest rate (they offerred me 5.99 no fee) or pay the 3% fee on your zero interest offer.

My guess is it likely won't get better, but Now that Goldman and JP Morgan are in the banking business, I suppose it is possible they might get into the Credit Card game. Most likely buying up existing players like Advanta and WAMU. Just a hunch.

My BoA Financial Rewards card has had a 1% BT offer til Dec with a $99 cap for about 4 months.

BS, I got a 0% fee card just last month.

well, no offers for me. but i did learn that BofA cr*pped on my limit on my largest card. of course I only use BofA for MBNA billpay, so I guess there's some reasoning for that.

So you got 0% and no fee? Which card?

My three cards

1) 12 months 0%, 3% fee, $10 min 3% max no cap
2) 12 months 1.9%, 3% fee, $10 min 3% max no cap
3) 12 months 7.9%, 3% fee, $10 min 3% max, $75 cap

Figures that the worst rate and highest used card gets the cap. I am waiting for WAMU to sell of their CC business to GS or MS this week hopefully, should make the CC business competetive again for BT's.

It's a BOA Preferred MC that I applied through an affiliate link found on these boards.

Not sure why this is getting red...just received this last month as an existing customer. It is BOA's gold Mastercard.

Card #1 is a BofA Platinum Plus Mastercard. Got it for the free 2GB Nano iPod and $50 statement credit about a year and a half ago - I'm sure quite a few others here did as well. I've never used it outside the initial BT to get the iPod and credit.

Card #2 is a Carolina Panthers Platinum Plus Visa. Got it for a bunch of free Panthers swag. Never used it outside the initial purchase.

Card #3 is the University of Iowa Alumni Association Platinum Plus Mastercard that I'm sure many, many people here got ($250 statement credit). Never used it outside the initial purchase.

The one BofA card that I actually did use quite a bit in the past (and one of my oldest cards) was closed by BofA after I got the U of Iowa card, and they wouldn't reopen it. Go figure.

They offered to do a 0% BT with 3%, no cap, transfer fee on my BoA MasterCard.. I called up to have my wife added as an authorized user, and asked me why I wouldn't take the BT offer. I said they would need to cap the fee. They wouldn't do it on the card that they had originally offered the 0% BT on( the MasterCard), but hey offered me a $75 cap 0% BT for 10 months (down from 12) on my BoA AMEX. Even offered to dump the money into my checking account to pay off the other cards.
