After you've made your 3 signature-based purchases do you get any sort of confirmation emailing saying you're eligible for the $50 now?

No, this doesn't happen. I was wondering the same and I messaged them, and they just sent me a message saying the money would get deposited around day 50 (after signing up). Sure enough, the money did in fact arrive! I made 3 purchases at Circuit City online for in-store pick-up, before they began closing :-P, and it worked fine!
