Updated 1/27/09:

Received the card in yesterday's mail but was surprised to see that it still shows a $13.8K CL. I called them (about the supposedly approved CLI to $25K from last week) and the CSR said it was still stuck in "processing". After a nice chat with a credit ninja, who was surprised to see a 0% 12 mo. NO FEE offer in their system while we were discussing the T&C of the card, he offered to bump it up to $30K.

He also noted that I had a lot of activity on my AMEX Costco TrueEarnings card, so he also offered me their Bank of America Accelerated Cash Rewards American Express Card with a $20K CL, with no additional pull on my CR since he already had it in front of him. This card has a 1.25% Cash Back for all purchases with no limits. My total combined BOA CL will be $40K for both cards [reallocated from the $30K MC]. Before we hung up, I then initiated a BT to my checking account on the MC to pay off the Citi Associated card.

It's confirmed that the 0% BT deal starts with the date of application and in the offer letter, states that it is "through your statement closing date in February 2010."

My TU FAKO score (from CreditKarma) dropped 4 points (781 on 1/23/09 pre-app and 777 on 1/27/09 post-app).

DATA POINT....DATA POINT....DATA POINT....DATA POINT....

I paid an expiring 6 month BOA BT last week, then disputed the balance at CRA's.

I called today for a new BOA Plat Plus. After 35 minutes** with credit rep, she moved all existing available BOA credit to approve this card.

BINGO... new $40,000 line (with $35,600 DDeposit to HYSA in progress)

details

**She asked for income & liquid assets, 401(k), IRA.

She asked me how my existing debt was incurred (USBank and Wells Fargo were reporting $6k and 18k respectively). I told her straight up, "I utilize 0% offers to invest in money market accounts. I intend to do the same if approved for this card."

She totally knew the game, of course, and asked me 'do you have any other debt you are liable for outside of these?'

I calmly advised her of two business cards totalling $51,237.

She asked a couple of business questions to which I answered 'Investment banking since July 2007 where I effectively do the same BT at 0% and invest in HYSA.'

Good luck fellow FWer's... I love this game...

Another Data point, I just applied on the phone. It took somewhere around 20 minutes, they pulled up the offer code no problem. I gave 85k as HHI, asked for 25k, but only got 12.5k. The credit analyst said that my length of history was the big thing that made her offer lower. I don't have any reporting debt ATM. Still not too bad, when combined with the ADA card floating around. She did, however say that there was a 3% BT fee with this, and I had to stop her and have her verify. She sounded kind of surprised, but apologized for the mistake, very nice lady.

Did you manage to BT from the MC to a checking account?
Was it a BoA checking account?

TIA

Datapoint: Got approved after applying for using g10ny's link. Combined CL from BoA increased from $36K to $41K--they did allow me to reallocate my CL, so I intend to make full use of the 0APR offer. My card insert all says 0APR through the close of Feb 2010 statement.

This link is still working for people?

Any one tried to BT to a some other bank reward checking account?

The link is not working, but the phone app is still working, as of today afternoon. Call 1-800-932-2775 and mention offer code FAATCY.

How long is your credit history?

My girlfriend doesn't want to call on the phone. She hates calling and talking to CS when I am around because I always criticize her when she is taken advantage of. She wanted an online app... Oh well, her loss.

I initiated the balance transfer from the MasterCard to my Citibank checking account, instead of my BOA checking account. All they needed was the routing and account numbers. The funds showed up 24 hours later.

The susbstantial portion of my credit isn't too old. I have had my 20k CL AMEX for two and a half years and a usaa credit card for about eight years. Unfortunately, usaa has been very stingey with credit to me, so it doesn't look like I have had much experience with higher credit limits. I didn't have to verify any assets though, and the limit is close to the Ada card I just got (15k).

I called to BT 89% of a 13.8K line and they found my Fidelity card (also FIA Card Services) and asked me if I wanted to reallocate - awesome - I was tickled!

As a newbie in this doing a very mini-AOR (4 cards) to feel comfortable about this stuff, I ran into some of the same questions with certain cards with 0% BT ($75 capped) thinking - how can I get that money out of those cards? HSBC for example, won't transfer to checking account & cash advances aren't 0%.

I'm sure it's probably old hat to some, but after taking out a BT from BOA, can't I just HSBC bank transfer to pay down some of the BOA and then call BOA right up and do another 0% BT to my checking with the amount I paid off? I assume that's a common way to exploit available 0% BT?

Since I'll also be making new purchases on this card they asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the world point platinum plus card for the rewards, no extra charge and I'd get to keep the same promo rates as I received with this card. Anyone else got the same 'upgrade' offer? Any reason why not upgrade?

Does it has any annual fees?

Nope

You have to look into the fine print to find any "gotcha" clause and the benefits of the PLUS card over you current card. If you don't need any of the benefits then why upgrade?
Also, I will get everything in writing re keep the same offer on the new card. That way if they start charging you 19% APR on the upgraded card you have something as a proof. These days banks are using any means necessary to trick their customers into something to charge you fees. Recently, BOA upgraded my checking account to "Advantage relationship" account (with $5000 minimum balance requirement} without my permission (without any information to me whatsoever). I only found out when saw monthly maintenance fee!

Ditto. It's very odd to get yet another offer with 0 APR on purchase/BT and 0 BT fee. Remember the rep probably gets a bonus/commission for every successful convert.

At the minimum, note the promotion reference code for your records. You can always place another call to their CC application center under the pretense of putting in a new CC app, and have the rep tell you what the BT rate and fee are.

Link to Worldpoints Platinum Plus.
0% APR for 15 months with 3%BT fee.

15 months is nice but unfortunately it has an uncapped 3% BT fee.

anybody getting approved with for this when already having a BOA card?

yup. not a problem.

Still live by phone, just got approved instantly using FAATCY, 2/9/09, 8 PM EST.

Just called them and applied over the phone.

They took down all my information and then transferred me over to the credit department. Asked me what I was planning on using the card for amongst other information. I told them I was planning on doing a BT. She goes "is it for $xx,xxx at YYY"? (obviously looking at my credit report. She asked me how much, I said I wanted to BT $XXK.

She puts me on hold and cranks through her computer and comes back to tell me that I've been approved for $XXK. I go, can you do better than that. She goes.. "I see your credit line at YYY is $VVK, I'll give you $ZZK." Done.

Then she asked me for the last 4 digits of my YYY account. I asked if she can deposit it into my bank account. She asks me for the routing number and account number. Then goes through a 5 min speel reading the disclaimer.

All said and done, it took a little over 15 mins.

Good luck.

Also confirmed here that it still works over the phone just now... Only got a 10K credit line, although they were able to pull another 2.5K from the Schwab card. The direct deposit was easy enough. Total time it took was around 25 minutes.

I was approved for a card over the phone this afternoon. I asked to have the 14K from another BOA card added to the credit line, but was told to call back when the card arrives. I had the limit of the new account directly deposited into my checking. Did I have a misinformed CSR as far as having the credit limits combined? Will I still be able to make an additional balance transfer (zero fees), or is the offer only good for one transfer?

Sorry, for the beginner questions. Any help is appreciated.

luvmick said: Will I still be able to make an additional balance transfer (zero fees), or is the offer only good for one transfer?
You can have as many as you like with 0 fees.

I was declined because I have pretty high balances (although low utilization). The analyst also said they were going to reassess my credit limits with my existing cards and lower my limits. Not earthshattering, but I was hoping to avoid any fees for another year.

I already have a BoA Platinum Plus Mastercard from a 0% offer 2 years ago. Anyone know if it's possible to get approved for another Platinum Plus Mastercard? I know other CC companies (like Chase) will issue the same card to the same person multiple times. Will BoA do that? Thanks for the insight.

Yes, they will. I've had three (two are currently still open).

Thanks, I'll give it a try to see what happens.

I did BT to my checking account. CSR voluntarily tried to increase the CL to 15k from 11k. Today I got a call. She increased CL to 15k. She clarified that, there is no hard pull.

I have current BOA card and received convenience checks. However I wonder why there is no online option in my account to do this instead of using the convenience checks.

As this is my first BoA credit card, a quick question. When I click on the account detail link, I see the balance, but no payment date. Is this normal? Does the payment date only show after the first statement has cut? I just want to make sure I have the right date entered in my calendar to schedule.

What phone number are people using to talk to the credit analyst? I applied a week ago thru 800 932 2775 and was instantly denied. My guess is, it's because I already had three BoA credit cards. I have since then closed one and moved over the credit limit to one of the other cards, so I'd like to apply second time.

Do you think there's any chance they could use the report they pulled when I applied for the card the first time?

I applied for this card through using the double-link method almost 3 weeks ago, got deferred, and then didn't hear anything. I thought maybe my application went into a black hole. I was surprised to get a card in the mail yesterday, although it had a measly $6K limit. However, I went online and got the credit line tripled. I probably could have gotten more, but I'm satisfied with it. I called and had the BT transferred into my checking account, and all is well in the 0% BT world again. I didn't expect to see any of these again for awhile, much less two of them, including the ADA card.

My friend got approved only for 8K credit line eventhough she has 756 score. She rarely does any BT deals and pays off credit card all the time. She currently carries ~120K in mortgage loan. So I told her to call the credit analyst number to ask for 30K balance transfer to her checking account but she got declined. They asked her what she will do with that money and she just made up a reason that she would buy a car. Maybe that was why she got rejected? Or because she asked for too high credit line? Should she call back again? I read a lot of posts here and it seems to me that those credit analysts are really aggressive if they know that you want to do BT with them. I myself got approved for 5K and I called them to tell them that I wanted to do BT of 21K from my Citicard and the lady on the phone gave 22K credit line to me immediately. It took me less than 5 minutes to do that. I even have lower credit score than my friend. Any advice here for my friend? Thanks.

Guys, I got a 5k limit, which makes no sense (credit score >750). I called and got transfered to senior analyst. Wouldn't budge. Sweet-talked and then bad-mouthed ken lewis. lots of laughs, but she ended up still denying me, saying that they could raise it if i had a demonstraed payment history with them for a year. I told her the BT offer was great and I wanted to pay down some of my student loans and other CC debt, and still wouldn't budge. Cost me two hits. They were also shocked that 0% until March 2010 even existed.

Bofa popped my 7.9 rate to 24.99 last month on my 4 year old Platinum Plus Card, 50% utilization. I called and they agreed to drop it back to 7.9 provided that I DID NOT CHARGE ANYTHING ELSE in the card until they notified me later.

Do you think I'll be able to apply for this? (I'm thinking no, unless there is a data point saying otherwise)

Why are you paying 7.9% in the first place?

Is 7.9% not a good rate for a cc?
