Every now and then I make some stupid purchases with my money, even if it directly contradicts FW.
Last April my old car (a FREE hand-me-down) had a ton of problems, and it got to a point of where I didn't want to deal with it anymore, so I bought a brand new car. Yes, it's an immediately depreciating asset. It was a stupid move.
What's worse, is that I don't even drive the thing anymore, since I have a job that I can get to by public transportation very easily now.. If I sell the car, it'll be an immediate 5k loss, but if I bought used, I might have lost tax and registration at the most.. Oh well.
Anyone else make some stupid purchases lately? Let's hear them!
When I got my first paying job bought a new car. With nothing down. Worst purchase ever...... I live 1 mile from work and walk every day. Selling it would also lose me approximately 5k which I am seriously contemplating now to purchase a nice street bicycle.
Genny light.... or the Beast Ice (Milwaukee's Best Ice).
Although the S&SP plan where I got X companies stock at 42 dollars a share and its now less than 10 sucks as well but at least some of the money was employer matching

Didn't we already do this and I made a joke about buying 53 one-week timeshares?
