Does this require you to open a Savings accounts have reoccuring transfer from the Checking to the Savings? Because they've done that to me previously. I read the fine print and it said there was no maintenance fee but other service fees are applicable.

When you click on the link in the original post, click on the open account now link after you scroll down -- NOT the one at the top on the right hand side. It comes up that it was expired if you type it in. Clicking the link after you scroll down makes it automatically come up. Hope that helps.

It doesn't say that current checking customers are excluded. Have they credited the money for those who open new accounts but already have a checking in the past?

Looks like the offer runs through 12/31/2009, but you can apply for an incentive every 6 months -- so, $100 total, if you open an account today, and again in September? Sweet!

Yep, just debit and bank funding. Signed up and got a "We are processing your request and you will be contacted soon with additional information. Thank you for your patience." email.
OK, my story: Yes, no direct deposit requirement, no minimum deposit requirement. I opened this account 3 years ago, and I got the bonus, which is good. But sometime last year, I started being charged monthly maintenance fee. Then I contacted their CSR, and finally I found out what the reason is. The previous promotion was ended sometime last year, and they started another identical promotion. But since the promotion I opened the account for was ended, I was charge maintenance fee since then. So be aware: you will be charged maintenance fee when the current promotion is ended and they start another one.
I had gotten this promotion with BOA twice in the past. Immediately after receiving the $50 credit I withdrew the fund and canceled the checking account to avoid any fee (if there really is any).
I just created another account for my wife. Looking forward for another extra $50. Thanks OP!

GROUP50 is an old code that seems to have made a comeback. I'm tempted to enter code GROUP100 instead, as that's been the parallel $100 bonus promotion in the past.
And if you are going to open the account anyways, you might as well go to the BofA website and choose a cool "MyExpressions" MyAccess account that comes with a fun debit card (I chose Hello Kitty myself ). Just make sure to enter the promo code on the application, as it wont be auto-filled.

Hey Glitch. Does GROUP100 work? Has anyone tried it?

Caution my friend, says one per household in a 6 month period, be smart and do it in your wife's name now and 6-7 months later (before end of the year for sure) in your name.
Don't forget the $250 added bonus with the KTC program. Paying $1.01 at a time to my cable company still works and the torture of having to do it over 250 times is a small price to pay...
It says in the terms that a savings account should be opened as well. Does anyone know if having a savings account already satisfies that requirement?

Obviously, to enroll in KTC you need a savings account, but that doesnt pertain to the $50 bonus offer.
Was going to open a new account in the bank as they have a 9 month cd for 2.5 % but risk free so u can withraw all or part of money once every seven days in case if u r in need of money.. incase some one is looking for short term cds.

Is this still valid? I don't see it mentioned anywhere. When do you get the KTC bonuses, monthly, at the end of the year? If it is yearly then do you forfeit the KTC if you close the account before the end of the year? Thanks.
I called BOA and a customer service rep confirmed that this promotion is not available for people who already have existing checking accounts. did anyone call and get a different answer from them?

The bonus is paid on the 1 year anniversary. Yes, you have to leave the acct open.

BoA CSR's often give bad info in my experience. I've done this exact promo before (same promo code and terms) and received the bonus even though I already had several checking accounts with them. Just make pdf's of the promo page (and even the application if you want to be extra safe) and make sure that if it isn't credit within 50 days you call them up on day 51 and tell them that you met the conditions and you have the documentation to prove it.
I used that offer back in 7/24, and they said the bonus was to be added in 90 days, so supposed to receive it around 10/24.
However, they did have a hard-pull on my credit history. I already had a credit card with them before opening that account, so I called and asked why was that. They mentioned they had to send me a new credit card as long as I was now a "customer" of theirs', and that this was a standard procedure they always follow. They did send me in new cards, and cancelled the old ones, in a weeks time. My credit reports show that my older account is still active, not like they closed and opened a new one, which kept me happy so as not to screw my credit score up. I went back and read the fine print about that and couldn't find anything regarding having to have a "new" credit card number, as they mentioned.
Has anyone else experienced such a thing? Can someone explain why that was?
