Thanks OP! However, this just opened a can of sh** for me: 670 out of 830. Ugh! So I dispute (which does give you another free report) and see an item from National Recovery Agency for $73...from Columbia House...which I CLOSED AND CANCELED 4 years ago. That and a dispute from a Target store card that was CLOSED AND CANCELED 2 years ago. These both hopped on this month out of nowhere. Phone war here I come. Sigh! |

Unless you have already requested a credit report from Experian you don't have to go through AMEX. Everyone is entitled annually to a free credit report from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Go to www.annualcreditreport.com to get yours. At four month intervals make a request to a different agency and get a full year's credit report coverage for free. |

You just get credit report when you try to get one free credit report every year. That's still good, as you can check for fraud / correct reporting etc. |

Still works, Amx 743 Ck 758 Thanks. Edit: AMX said: You have no open installment loans, such as auto loans, on your credit report. This positively influences your credit score because lenders feel you are more likely to pay your other bills without the fixed monthly payment attached to an installment loan. Hmm, this is contrary to the popular view that different types of accounts, including loans, are positives. |
