Received an email invitation for a USBank checking account. I called and was told there is NO PROMO code to enter. However! The CSR I spoke with said they match by SSN against their existing marketing database to determine whether you qualify.

I got a postcard (rather generic, didn't even have my name on it - just my address) recently in the mail from USBank. It was for a $150 bonus, tho. Similar terms regarding DD and such. I've been planning on opening it up. Tough to turn down 150 bux.

any promo code for that?
I didn't see one on the postcard at all. Strange too. The card said I could apply online or visit my local branch (call 1-800-720-BANK, stop by nearest branch, or visit www.usbank.com/checking). But there wasn't any info on how to indicate I was applying under the $150 promo. I'd rather do it online, but I probably will have to go to a branch. Just haven't had the time. I'll try to do that in the next couple of days; maybe I can get a "promo code" from the branch. The only "codes" I see are in the address area, and it's addressed to "Dear Neighbor" with my address info. Above "Dear Neighbor" is "PC" followed by a six digit number. Maybe this is the promo code? Unique?
By the way, the terms on the postcard say I have to set up a recurring DD of at least $150 within 60 days of account opening. $150 credit will post within 6-8 weeks after DD is established. Minimum $50 to open account. Offer expires May 31, 2009.

I actually received the $150 promo through email. I wonder what qualifies as DD for US Bank? Got the Chase bonus with WaMu xfer (ING didn't work). Would luv to get this, too but currently unemployed. Decisions, decisions....

Although people were saying so, I am not entirely convinced of ACH effectiveness, yet. There's very limited discussion on US bank. CSR told me that it won't count, but they are hardly trustworthy anyway. In a nutshell, I'll just take my chances. It will take just 10 min overall..
my first real direct deposit went into this account this morning for $100.
I sent an email asking for my bonus (i know.... 6-8 weeks but i'm going for a 1-2 week turnaround).
My first direct deposit went in to my account today. I know the terms of a promotional offer I applied under state that the bonus will post within 6-8 weeks following the first direct deposit. However, I'd like to see if that process could be expedited. Please?
their response came to my email address rather than secure messaging on usbank.com's website:
I apologize that we are unable to expedite the payment of this promotion credit to your account. To receive this promotion within the 6-8 weeks, the account will also need to be still open and in good standing.

$150 bonus has been credited to my account. For others that might want to sign up for future US Bank promotions, the account opening process was painless and the bonus was automatically credited. No issues.
Timeline:
05/06/2009 - Bonus $150 offer arrived via email (exp: June 30, 2009)
I received another promotional offer email. I suspect it is a targeted email for my DW.
Image is at left for $150 ... It expires September 30th, 2009.
