Hi,

I searched and didnt find any thread so tho't of posting this. I was referred by a friend to open a Virtual Bank eMoney Market A/c and I got $20 bonus for making $100 as the first deposit. Referral policy is here. eMoney Market rates as high as 2.02% APY sounded attractive when compared to a savings a/c so thought I'd give it a try! So if you guys know anyone having a Virtual Bank a/c send them your email address and your full (real) name and ask them to refer you - both of you will get $20 bonus
Update - Online signup needs a Driving License as proof.

eMoney Market Features

  • FDIC Insured
  • Open with as little as $100
  • No monthly fees
  • Free online transfers from your existing personal checking account
  • Free online statements
  • Nationally competitive, high yield rates
  • Free electronic deposits and withdrawals

  • Restrictions

  • This account is only available to individuals.
  • Valid social security number needed.
  • You may link up to 4 personal checking accounts to this account.
  • VirtualBank will send two deposits to your personal checking account that must be verified and confirmed before your new
    account will be opened.
  • The ONLY way to deposit or withdraw funds is by logging into your account and electronically transferring the funds.
  • Wire transfers, mail in deposits and issuance of bank checks are not available.
  • Accountholders must be at least 18 years old.
  • Electronic transfers to your checking account usually take up to 3 business days.
  • During the first 30 days your new account is opened, a 10 business day hold will be placed on funds deposited into the account. You will not be able to transfer funds back to your checking account during this period. Every day is a business day, except Saturdays, Sundays and Federal Holidays. After your account has been opened for more than 30 days, a 3 business day hold will apply to ACH deposits.
  • In accordance with Regulation D, which banks must comply with, preauthorized transfers and withdrawals are limited to six per statement cycle with no more than three by check, draft, debit card or similar order to third parties. While Regulation D accounts for all of these types of transactions, the eMoney Market does not permit checks or debit card transactions. A $5 per item charge in excess of Regulation D limits will be assessed.

Appears to be a quick and painless $20...except for the 10 business day hold.

I've had an account at Virtual Bank for several years, but their rates aren't that competitive these days. You have to maintain over $100k to get the 2%. That said, I'm all for taking advantage of the free money offers!

Link for site application page

Please note that this won't get you the $20 bonus. You have to receive an invitation from a member.

Acc to FW policy, you are not allowed to ask/give for referrals on the forums. You could send a PM to someone if you want a referral.

I called Customer Service, they had IE8 issues. You can workaround it by selecting "Compatibility Mode" under "Tools" in the menu bar.

I signed up. After I am done the verification process (probably after a week), I'm open to taking referral requests. Of course, after sandeep maxes out

Wonder why MS doesnt include backward compatibility in their newer s/w. Ask Mozilla Firefox and they'll tell you how easy it is!!
