I did not ever see a credit card funding option.
I added a few comments and documents to the QS for easy reference. how soon can we withdraw without penalty? no minimums? or dormancy fees? |

FWIW... We pulled credit reports this morning. For Mrs J and I, we received no hard inquiries. |

Thanks for uploading the PDF files jack & NightShopper. So the best account for the bonus is the MMIA? Put in $10k, take out $9.9k, get 3 free ATM rebates a month, get a free TV. Am I missing any strings? |

Has anyone been able to open the account online ?? My application consistently stops before step 3 - the validation. Is it working for you ? I've tried with IE and Firefox. Thanks! |

So now Free checking qualifies for the promo? It was posted before that a CSR said no, opened Platinum, to be on the safe side. |

OP stated Free checking is not an option when opening in branch I called and was told Free checking qualifies. bjg reported Free checking might not work and then changed position based on new information. Last I knew, bjg believed free checking worked so long as bill pay and estatements are initiated. Very YMMV... IMHO (in order of preference),
1) if you have the cash to transfer for a week or so, open a money market investment account (MMIA). 2) if you only have 5k, open a platinum to be certain of receiving gift. 3) if you want to gamble a bit, open a free checking but PRINT and take screenshots every step of the way. |

I called the bank and they saw my applications and completed the application for me. They said that many are having problems. I opened the free checking account and the rep I spoke with confirmed which gift I wanted to receive. |

I have upgraded my spouse account and opted for the TV (She has already had platinum account in this bank). At the branch they have referral bonus too. $50 for you + $50 for your friend. At the branch they have new printed pamphlets says offer is good for platinum checking. But they are offering free basic account online. I have choose to open at the branch because I will get a locker facility for free with platinum checking account and the referral of 100$. |
