For those requiring additional verification, the secure message is not easily read in plain text (List A and List B documents). View the message in HTML or check the QS for primary and secondary verification requirements. |

Unfortunately, they didn't give me an opportunity to prove my identity. They just denied me and that was that. |

Maybe the second DD going in on 7/24 will trigger it. Edit: After contacting them today asking about the missing bonus, it posted this afternoon. So far, I like the service at this bank and bill pay is really easy to use. |

I called them when they opened today, and found out that if you do not enroll in electronic statements you get charged a $2 monthly maintenance fee (even with FREE CHECKING). I thought I had already enrolled, I read the e-statements disclosure, but there was no button for me to "agree". |

If you are interested in getting a few more dollars out of this deal, check out their rewards program. The program itself is not that great, but they do have bonus points awards for performing some transactions you may already have done. You get 2500 points for direct deposit, 1500 points for choosing online checking statements, 500 points for opting to receive e-mails from the program when you sign up and 250 points for using your debit card as a credit card for your first purchase (only 100 if you perform a PIN transaction). Plus you can combine points from multiple accounts whether they are family members or just friends! It is easy to get 9000 points between 2 linked accounts without doing anything above what you did to open the checking account (2500 + 1500 + 500 = 4500 * 2 = 9000). You can redeem for gift cards at some good retail stores at the rate of 2500 points for a $25 gift card. If you want cash, you need 5000 points for $25. |

Credituser said:catbertsf said:hard pull AND real dd required.... seems to not worth the trouble. I opened the account online on 6/22 and do not see a hard pull on my credit report after checking again this morning. I already have online access to my account, so I think a soft pull is all that is happening with an online application.
Real DD does seem to be a requirement as all posts on this thread that discuss ACH say it did not satisfy the DD in the past. Did you check all of your 3 credit reports? You are the only one saying that there is no hard pull. |

Did you check all of your 3 credit reports? You are the only one saying that there is no hard pull.I have been checking my credit report and as of 8/18 I do not see any hard pulls in regard to opening the checking account. I have since opened a money market account with Flagstar as well ($1,000 opening deposit gets you another 1,000 reward points) and there was no hard pull with that either. (2500 for direct deposit + 1500 for online statements + 1000 for money market account = 5000 points = $50 gift card to WalMart, Home Depot, etc.) Neither my mife, nor I have incurred a hard pull from opening the Flagstar accounts. My wife and I opened our accounts online, so perhaps those that visited a branch have different results? Would others who recently opened an account please respond to this post stating whether you had a soft or hard pull? |

Thanks for sharing. |

I did not receive a hard pull even though I did get the debit card. You need the debit card if you are going to persue the rewards points gift cards discussed above. |
