Maybe they saw the email address on her application (ie MikeR397@msn.com).

They found the address to match your own credit profile with Citi (MikeR397@msn.com).

It also matched Dad's credit profile with Citi (MikeR397@msn.com).

All three of these profiles ironically have the same HHI perhaps?

Regardless, after seeing her O fer 6 experience thus far, I am nervous about kicking out any apps for my DW 2.0 next week...

hmmmmm my dad expressed interest in the USMint deal (he is retired and could rack up miles and or 2%....)

Nope, all my family members have thier own specific email that they use for the apps. In fact, if I'm doing apps in the same time period, I even use a different computer for IP address tracking purposes (although this probably doesn't matter with them, it does with some). Of course address and telephone number are the same.

Chase may have simply decided they are tired of given her free AOR money. I think this reason is bogus, or at a minimum poorly rationalized and implemented. If they didn't think that $250k was accurate, why would they deny completely, rather than grant a smaller CL? Smells fishy.

It could have been an automated error. Try calling for reconsideration. I've had many denials turn to approvals with just a phone call. I've had good luck when the reasons given are bogus.

I don't think I'll be creating my own thread for this, as it's not quite a large enough attempt to justify individual attention. The data points, though, are still worthwhile, so here they are:

Mom-O-Rama 1.0

32 years at place of residence, own with no mortgage, in an upper middle-class zip
Independent contractor for federal government for 19 years, >$100k earned per year from that source, >$20k from pensions etc.
HHI >$170k if conservative, >$200k if acknowledging everything but investment income (/losses )
Long, perfect credit history, though without large lines (Mom thought they were risky, always call issuers to ask them to cancel any issuer-initiated CLI )

Apps:
Selected from Mike's list:
Chase Disney: Waiting
BoA Mercedes Benz (only capped BT card they offer? 7 cycles? Ugh): $10 k. [When checking status online day after app, BoA suggested she call to get an instant decision; otherwise she could wait for a snail mail decision to be made in the next month. She called, $10k limit. Same company that gave me $20k limits 2 years ago, what a world.]
USBank: Mom doesn't carry balances, and even the Linux card now has uncapped fees unless the BT was requested with the app, so we requested a $12k BT to one of *my* cards. No idea if that's going to cause problems. Status: Waiting
Citi Pro: Insta-Approve, $8.5k. (The times, they are a changin... 10 months ago, when the credit-shit was already hitting the fan, my GF with a start-up biz and no real income was given a $10k Citi biz line.) In this climate I was anxious about a second app from the same issuer. Any thoughts on whether I should throw in the CitiBiz card as well before the day is done?
Juniper Biz: Waiting

She's outside of Nat City's footprint, Discover has no capped BT cards, Advanta is dead, reall is dead, so, this is today's AOR.

Thoughts of cards that should be thrown in at the last minute greatly appreciated.

I was wondering if this raises any red flags? What about doing a BT from a friend's cc (different name, address, everything)?

I don't see anything in the terms that specifies whether or not there is a BT fee. Can you please clarify?

Did you ever end up applying for this? I have a personal line at National City, and I'm wondering if they do re-allocations from personal to biz.

No, I never applied. I pretty much abandoned doing new AOR's at the moment after the dismal results I got with the first few apps. Time to give it a break.

You should call Nat City to verify this. I had the same problem a year ago, but called and verified it was 0% at that time. I have not double checked recently though.

Not sure if anyone is still following this thread, but FYI National City - I've done 2, 6-month 60K 0% BTs with them & neither had a BT fee. The last one I paid off last month. Each required me to start a new (personal) card, and they reallocated all but $500 of the old line to the new. I have a NatCity business account and VISA, but have not "comingled".

BTW Mike, regardless of how this comes out for you, we appreciate the info. A valiant effort nonetheless.
