I have a low credit score. its like 540
Can someone tell me which credit card I can apply for to boost my credit?
thanks for any input.. really desperate

go to a credit union or Bofa and get a secured credit card.

that means you need to put up cash equal to the credit line they give you.

nobody is going to allow you to get more unsecured credit with a score like that

oo please let me be the first to say:

Pay your bills deadbeat!

In any case, catalog and secured credit cards are your only hope. BOA and Citi both have secured cards and are generally fair. Citi does not advertise theirs so you must call and ask for it specifically.

Just remove "baddies", pay your bills and your score will increase. See the IBJANKY story.

edit: damn Sis beat me to it

Yea I do pay my bills.
My name was on my parents card as an authorized user and it ruined mine.
nothing I can do about it.

If you were merely an authorized user, then you can dispute the account and remove it.

Speak to Codename47 about the "nuclear" option.

I thougt we need to speak with Kim Jong Il about the nuclear option

You can fix it. Steps to take:

1. Have parents remove you as an authorized user
2. Dispute account off credit report

I have a feeling there's more than just this one card taking you down to 540. Go to annualcreditreport.com and get all 3 and see what else is incorrect. Have fun.

Note to self: if going to be in debt, remove my children from my cards.

Getting credit cards without any attempt to fix your credit is useless.
Or you can stay off the credit radar for 10 years with the hope that by then all the negative stuffs will fall off.
