I was approved for, and received, an Associated Bank Cash Rebate card (5% on EDP). I just logged on to the website and noticed that my card now appears as a Associated Bank Visa Platinum card. Unfortunately, I cannot find out the rewards details for this card. Does anyone know whether or not this card will have the same rewards structure as the cash rebate card? I could call and ask, but I generally do not like dealing with CSRs. Thanks in advance.

if you applied for the Cash Rebate Card and your card says Cash Rebate on it, you will indeed get the 5% on gas/grocery/drug stores....When i log in to the website, it also says Platinum Card on mine as well....it doesn't have any effect on it....
when your first statement is generated, you will see a listing for the rewards points and easily be able to tell that you got much more then the standard 1%...i noticed that right away....

Looking at the statement is the only sure way to know what you are getting. I asked for the 5% EDP card but got no rewards at all initially. A supervisor said she took care of the problem but all I got then was 1%. Hopefully that's now fixed but am still awaiting confirmation via small test purchases. If you have other cards that have larger rewards, I wouldn't put a whole lot on this card until you see some confirmation on your statements. Mine is labeled Platinum....apparently they can code the rewards differently via computer regardless of the name on the card.

The customer service person may get confused and tell you that you have the platinum card...not only is it listed that way when you check into your account, but it even says that on the statement as well...you have to see how many actual "cash dollars" you get on the statement...
For example...i spent about $186 last month and most of the purchases were supermarket and drug store related....i didn't get $1.86 in cash dollars..i got about $7.80 in cash dollars...which obviously meant it was getting 5% on those catagories.....
Guys; how hard is it to get this card? I tried to get the Chase Sapphire card, but was denied due to too many inquires. Then again, I was just approved for the PenFed Cash Back card. I called in and it is still processing. What are my chances in getting this card?
When I got my card in the mail, there was no literature about the rewards program. The card looked basically the same as the Platinum Card listed on Associated Bank's site. I called customer service to ask about my rewards, and she confirmed 1% back on all purchases plus 4% extra on EDP. Once I activated the card and removed the "Activate Now" sticker, I noticed the "Cash Rebates" written on the card.
I applied for the card over the phone. It was very easy. If I remember correctly, the application process was 100% automated. To be honest, I have no intention of using the card unless/until my Chase Cash Plus Rewards card gets demoted. However, since those cards are getting demoted with surprising frequency, I figured it would be prudent to get another 5% card just in case. (This is why I don't know whether or not I have the 5%, I've yet to make purchases of any significance.)
I came across a speculation that only residents from two states are eligible to get this card. Sounds odd, but still I wonder, what states do those of you recently approved for this card reside in?

TIA.
i don't believe that's true...i got it and i am in New York....nowhere near where the bank is actually located...anyway, the card is a branded card, and the credit lines, card servicing, getting rewards checks, even the website you get re-directed to when signing in at Associated Bank are all CITIBANK.....
Application process is a little annoying on this card online.
It also mentioned that users are required to call in and request your checks when you reach $50 in rewards level. Does this mean, there is no way to access your account information online at all if you are approved and receive the card?
I was hoping to get this as a back up to my Cash Rewards in case it gets changed or for when I hit the $300 limit.
no, you can access your card online, from the Associated Bank website....but it re-directs you to a special Citibank website from there...you will be able to view your transactions, statements, rewards cash....but yeah, as far as i know for the check you have to call when you reach at least $50.00....
In the Online website, it will list the card as a "Platinum Card" and that doesn't matter...as long as the actual card you receive in the mail says "Cash Rebate" on it....
