To qualify for the reward you must open a new Chase CheckingSM account with a $100 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates). Also, to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus miles you must make 5 debit card purchases with any Chase debit card linked or used to access the new account or initiate a repeating direct deposit such as payroll, Social Security or other government benefits. The 5 debit card purchases or first direct deposit must be completed within 60 days of account opening to earn the bonus miles. Initial 10,000 bonus miles will be deposited in your OnePass® account 6-10 weeks after the 5 debit card purchases or initial direct deposit has posted to the new account. Limit one personal checking account-related reward per customer, per calendar year. Limit one 10,000 bonus miles per checking account. Offer not available on account conversions or in combination with any other offer. Customers are still eligible for the first 10,000 miles even if they do not get the Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Debit Card. Account is subject to approval. Chase CheckingSM is available only at Chase branded branches, excluding branches in California.

2The second 15,000 bonus miles will be credited to the cardholder's OnePass account after the first qualifying purchase is made with your Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Debit Card or Chase Continental Airlines Debit Card. Please allow 6-10 weeks after your first qualifying purchase for bonus miles to post to your OnePass account. The first qualifying purchase must be made within the first 60 days in order to qualify for the bonus miles

P.S. You can try to combine this offer with $100/$125 bonus for opening a Chase Checking account. I did it last year with similar offer and got both bonuses. Although I had to call a couple of times to get 25K point credited, I finally got all of the points.

For those of us w/o Chase branches nearby, we're out of luck, right? From the language it looks like a branch visit is required but I'm wondering if anyone has contrary knowledge to that.

A rount-trip ticket to Europe requires 50,000 One Pass miles, so $25 for 25k miles seems like a solid deal to me.

I just opened such an account with them using the coupon link from continental website. This one is better.
I got $125 for open account, instead of the initial 10000 miles, plus $65 for 11000 miles/2500 for my wife(authorized user).
I paid $65 for 13500 miles. This offer is $25 for 15000 miles.

What are the chances of this working? If I open the Continental checking account in my name so as to get the miles and my wife opens the regular checking account so as to get the $125. Do yuo guys think this would work. We would obviously add each other to the accounts at a later date but to open them we would open them individually.

Can one also do the business account in addition to the personal one? Has that worked in the past?

I believe there is some sort of account closure fee if the account is closed within 6 months of opening.

Yeah, I decided to just cancel the debit cards w/ the fees and get new debit cards w/ no fees. Hopefully this avoids any account closure fees and allows me to keep the miles.

Also I'm surprised this offer hasn't been getting more action. Isn't the checking fee free with 5 debit card purchase and no hard pull to open? $25 annual fee isn't much for 25K miles even if it is continental.

the debit card yearly fee is $25, but got hit with $65 fee for both mine and DW's accounts. trying to get the fee fixed. no miles yet, anyone else have the same issue?

I got a cash bonus (no miles) earlier this year from Chase but have since closed my account. Can I open a new account with this miles offer and still get it?
