WAMU Debit didn't work, guess you need to get a new Chase one first:
Your current debit card isn't eligible for Chase Extras, but it's easy to get an eligible card!
Just stop by any Chase or WaMu branch or call us at 1-800-242-7324 to request a new Chase Debit Card that you can enroll in Chase Extras. You can continue to use your current debit card while you wait for your new one to arrive.
Once you receive and activate your new Chase Debit Card, go to www.chase.com/extras to enroll in Chase Extras.
If you have questions about changes to your WaMu checking account or debit card, please see our special FAQ for WaMu customers.
Starting October 26, 2009, you can request a new Chase Debit Card and enroll it in Chase Extras! Visit your local Chase or WaMu branch after October 26, for complete details.
In the meantime, you can continue to use your current debit card as you do today.
If you have questions about changes to your Wamu Checking account or Debit Card, please see our special FAQ for WaMu customers.

I got the same message for my Chase debit card, but I was previously a WaMu customer. I'll change it over the next time I'm in a branch.
I added Chase Extras through the link provided, but don't see any confirmation that the promo was entered into my account. Any way to confirm it was without calling/emailing them?

Looks like there is a $25 annual fee for each debit card enrolled.
Please read the Chase Extras Terms and Conditions. Specifically paragraph 2.3 which states: "2.3 Once you have been successfully enrolled in the Program, a nonrefundable annual membership fee ("Fee") of $25 per debit card will automatically be charged to your checking account linked to the enrolled debit card. The Fee is in addition to any fees that we may impose under the Account Rules and Regulations booklet.".
The Chase Rewards Terms and Conditions are at: https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/shared/assets/page/debit_rewards_faq&faq=14
Just FYI.

Am I blind? I do not see where they say they charge $25? I did not start the enrollment process though - is it something shown after you register? Anyone know if there are any fees? The promotion says FREE.

Just FYI.Leisure Rewards is a particular type of debit card, which does in fact have a fee. The Chase Extras program is free: https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/shared/assets/page/debit_rewards_faq&faq=14 Click About the Program: Q: Is there any cost to enroll in Chase Extras? A: Chase Extras is a free rewards program. There is no cost to enroll. However redemption of select travel-related items may incur additional costs. See the Chase Extras Catalog for complete details
Looks like the enrollment goes to visaextras.com so having had enrolled in prior Chase programs this showed me prior points minus same for inactivity and currently zero. So not sure I will get awards of $10 worth / 5500 points or not ....

Your 5,500 bonus rewards points will post to your Chase Extras account no later than October 31, 2009. Once your points have posted, you will be able to redeem them for a $10 gift card. I guess we get to wait.

I guess it works for only Visa debit cards. I have a chase mastercard debit card for Wamu and I'm not eligible till oct 26.

I have a debit card of Chase and a debit card of WAMU. If I enrolled both of them, whether I can get $20?
Anyone knows?

I've received an email from Chase to enroll and get the bonus. It's unclear however if the bonus is one per customer or one per card. I have 2 checking accts with 2 separate cards. Perhaps will try to enroll the 2nd one and wait to see what happens.

Agreed on it only being for Visa... which made me wonder... they were all previously Wamu accounts, why did I get M/C for 2 and Visa for one of them...

You won't get the $10 GC. Don't bother to try. I enrolled the exactly same offer last time and after maybe 2 months I called them inquiring about this opening bonus and they kinda laughed at me saying that I have to "EARN" my points by spending enough money.
I have a Chase debit card, Visa-branded, which was not in any rewards program previously. Checking account has been open 5 months.
Clicked on the link in the OP and jumped through the hoops until I got: "We were unable to process your change. The transaction cannot be processed. (1300)"
I enrolled on 8/7/09. I just checked and the 5500 points posted 8/21! Just ordered my $10 gift card.

What the... I just requested a chase debit card to enroll for this and now it's saying I have to get a new chase debit card after Oct 26??? I guess having a chase debit card doesn't qualify me?
This is the goofiest bank take-over I've ever seen... "Chase" on everything, but none of the benefits on thier services. Why didn't they send me a Wamu card if they continue to deem it so?

Update: Received GC 9/21.
It took a month to receive your gift card? I still haven't received my points yet...

I got mine from this promotion. Don't remember when, but I'm surprised so many had problems. For those that were told they had to make a purchase, that's BS. I didn't use the card at all even for an ATM withdrawal. You had to do nothing other than to register.
