The rep just called me to verify, and she told me that I should be receiveing ThankYou points as well for opening the card (Although she could not tell me how much), and tht I'd receive an additional 10.000 TY points after spending $300. She confirmed the no BT fee as well. FWIW, I used offer code 853. So that should be a very nice card all in all, thank you OP!
I looked at the T&C online with the offer, and it said like posted above: "Balance transfer fee: 3% of each balance transfer; $5 minimum. There is no fee with the 0.00% APR balance transfer offer described above." rep confirmed it which is always nice IMHO.

I don't know why she told you that you will be getting xxxxx ThankYou Points for opening the card AND 10000 TY Points after spending $300 as typically they only give you 6000 to 10,000 points for this card. Maybe OP or someone who has actually received a printed offer in the mail might be able to clarify this. Anyway, great post OP. Looks like Citi is using the TARP $$ to do this........maybe to satisfy the terms of getting the TARP money. It's interesting that these 0%APR/"0" BT fee offers comes up shortly after a bank gets the TARP funds. Same thing happened with Citi & BOA last time.

Signed up but it says further processing is needed and that I would find out in a week or so about the decision. Why did it say this? I have good credit so i'm confused.

Does the Diamond Preferred card report your credit limit to CRAs?

called the phone number and it's approved. So if anyone get's the same message I suggest you call to find out the status.
I have balance in a 0% expiring card. When I called citi about any BT offers about 2 weeks back they offered me a 2.99% for 6 months. I called again yesterday to do a BT as the statement date is next week. Now the customer rep says he does not have any offer for BT.
My questions
1) If I call back and ask CSR to convert my card to one of the above cards, would they entertain such requests? Of course I have to be eligible for it but do they usually do it? 2) Should I apply for this card?
I have no balances in any other cards except one card (13.5K on 15K) card. Total CL is greater than 70K (atleast). Mortgage balance is 217K. HHI is close to 100K. No decrease in CL so far. But I am fighting a collection charge of ($160) for the past few months. This was one of the reason for a denial of a CC application by SunTrust bank few weeks back.

Ok I just called and I'm approved but they said for $3k. That is low for my credit ratin and salary. I have 2 other cards with 10k. I want at least 10k for the balance tranfer to take advantage for the 0%. Any suggestions?
I must be blind, cause I don't see either of these cards offering TY points for signing up or initial spending. Could someone point this out for me if in fact it does exist? Thanks.

You are not blind......there is no such offer in writing but see the post from jesternl a few posts back.

Call them.........it won't hurt to try. There is nothing for you to lose here.
Other way of doing it to transfer you balance to a non-citi card and after getting one of these cards from citi transfer it to 0%/0 citi card mentioned here.
Does anyone know if there's a limit to the number of cards you can have with Citi?

Has anyone had any luck in getting a higher limit? I'm interested in doing a balance transfer as well, but $3k is a little low.
Called them and said conversion is a no-go. She said to apply for a new card.
Applied and got the message "We will contact you within a week via email regarding our decision. Thank you for requesting a CitiŽ Diamond PreferredŽ Card."
So crossing my fingers and waiting for that phone call / email.

The number of cards means nothing. What matters is the total amount of credit line citi is able to offer you based on your Annual HouseHold Income and your other loan obligations like mortgage/car payments/rent eyc. For example, If your HHI is 50,000 and your rent/mortgage is 1000/month Citi will only offer you 20,000 line of credit spread across all your credit cards with Citi. This is simplified version.

You are comparing apples with oranges! The credit line anyone else got has nothing to do with what you might get as it depends on your own credit rating/score/HHI/ debt to available credit etc etc.

Just goes to show how irresponsible these banks are...you'd think they would be a little more cautious about their spending. But hey, at least Citi is paying me back for my portion of the bailout through TYP bonuses ($325 across 3 cards in 2009) and 0% no-fee BT's for signing up for their credit cards!

If Citi doesn't give me a higher limit and I cancel the card will it impact my credit?
Can I request a higher limit without the card? They said it would arrive next week.

If you cancel the card it will still show up on your credit report. The impact to your credit scores when that happens depends on what else is on your reports. Too many variables to predict the impact. You can request a CLI without having the card in your posession.

Just called and they said I have to have the card with the 16 numbers in order to request a CLI.
