Will they be cashing out rewards of less then $50 that have been earned on Custom Cash?

They simply closed mine

They told me no, they would not cash out less than $50.

They claimed the reason for the change was to make things more easy to understand for their customers by offering a simple, flat 1%.

Argh!! This was my most used card. I need to find a new card now, and file this to the sock drawer once I can cash out the last $50.

Just checked my account online and a $50 check is in my most recent statement. I'll guess I'll end up losing the $8 that's left.
I feel I can't be bitter. We had a great run on this card folks - 7 years! I've done some major purchases with it and smiled as I deposited the 3% kickbacks.

I called customer no-service and they had trouble with my simple question.

How many points will I get if I only spend $10. He kept saying, 1%. I said, that doesn't help, how many points will it be.
He again said 1%. Argh!!

The terms are not clear very clear to me, but this is definitely not "exciting news". In the terms it is not clear how rounding is going to play a factor -- if you spend less than a certain amount do you get nothing, but more than a certain amount the rounding helps you? Can't really tell from the terms, nor can customer no-service.

Has anyone been able to get any concessions or bonus points by calling? Citi has always given me some when they change terms if I asked.

Incidently, I might end up at my closing date with $25 remaining, so compared to losing it altogether, I just figured out that spending the next $2500 to get the last $25 is almost like getting 2% in a way as it will let me recover the rest - or I could spend $1250 on travel and restaurants to get there and it would be like 4% which is only slighly better than the 3% some of my other cards pay for those categories.

By the way, how do folks on electronic billing get their checks?

What a joke...received this in the mail on September 1st and changes this is changing over in September? So what does this mean if I have a billing statement of middle of the month? Can I still get 3% up till then or not? They left it very unclear, probably on purpose.

i called in to ask about that specific question. the csr told me that it would switch to 1% on the my billing cycle in sept. so if you're billing cycle is 9/15, you'd better buy something to get 3% before 9/15.

This sucks. I had this working so that nearly every purchase on this card was 3% CashBack. Was pulling in a $50.00 check every couple of months. I came to FW today looking for another hot CashBack card but looks like best is 2% and thats after jumping through a few hoops.

Are you ignoring the Associated Bank 5% card because of the $300/year maximum or because the portfolio just went from Citi to US Bank/Elan?

Anyone else get a postcard about RBS Quarterly Cash?

I got one and it says I'll get the following:

2% on grocery during the 1st quarter of 2010
2& on home improvement - 2nd quarter
2% for restaurants - 3rd quarter
2$ for department stores - 4th quarter

You have to register online to receive "invitation" e-mails and then you'll need to sign up for each promo online. Kind of like discover's 5% Cash Back in select categories, except RBS states there is no limit on CashBack at the 2% level.

How can I sign up for invitation emails?

Just setup to "Managge My Account" at rbsnb.com w/ a valid e-mail address.

Did not get this, but I can get 2% any time by using my grandfathered Fido card (similar to Schwab, if I understood it correctly). So unless they can offer better deals than this, the RBS card will remain sockdrawered...

Agreed. I am hoping to get the last $30 reward left on the card at some point, but would rather keep the card as it has one of my higher limits.
