Does ACH count for DD? Any idea?

Today, I opened a 50+ Interest Checking account and was told that an initial deposit via ACH from my local bank's checking account would count as 1 of the 2 required $100 direct deposits within the first 60 days of account opening. The lady that handles the Online Applications, who was very nice & competent, was the person that informed me about this. However, ACH deposits are not considered valid Direct Deposits thereafter....only good for the initial deposit via ACH. Just to be on the safe side, I am making sure that I do make 2 Direct Deposits of my pension within the first 60 days...Can't always trust what only 1 person tells you about these type promotions. Good luck...hope that this helps you.

Just applied, but didn't encounter a screen asking for DD/initial deposit information... Anyone else?
There is also a $50 dollar Visa voucher offer for referring your friends and family- I wonder if this can be combined with the $100 Visa voucher offer.
Looks like this will take a bit more work than the other bonuses, FYI
"Please allow up to 4-6 weeks for receipt of your gift after completing program requirements."
"Upon qualification, you will receive a redemption certificate valid for one $100 Visa® Gift Card. Remit the certificate to Awards Headquarters - 7804 Fairview Rd., PMB #285 Charlotte, NC 28226-4998 within 30 days of receipt. Please retain a copy for your records."

The requirements should be the 2 direct deposit stated in the OP.

I also signed up for this account, but I don't understand how one bank to bank ACH will be counted for the DD requirement, but a second bank to bank ACH will not, unless they have someone manually approving what counts and what doesn't.

Does this account opening result in a hard pull to one's credit report?
So in order to receive the $100 reward, you have to register in the upper link in the OP's post before applying for a new account, right? Do you have to fill out five referrals in the registration form? That is annoying.
EDIT: The referral requirement may be a browser issue. When I used firefox, I couldn't submit the registration without referrals. Internet explorer had no such issue. BTW their website is very crappy, with many links broken or extremely slow. Maybe it's a holiday thing...

Mine is 064201832. There should be a DD form in the documents you downloaded from their website. parksh69 said: Anybody know the routing number of the bank? I'm trying to set up DD. Thanks in advance.

Probably not. That says: Once your friend has opened a new checking account and completed all program requirements, you will both receive certificates valid for a $50 Visa® Gift Card*.

I have reviewed your online application and unfortunately I was unable to approve your online application for a new account because of the number of recent inquiries to financial institutions.

Prob. too many ChexSystems inquiries. I've been denied at FIs before as well for checking accounts. Though I've had a lot recently as well and I got approved. Perhaps they've been overwhelmed with applications and they're becoming stricter in their acceptance.
Here's something to make this deal even sweeter. From their checking account page, they said they would pay you for your old checkpads and debit cards ($2.50 each). I don't know if you have to mail them in or give it to them in person.
Wife and I both denied because of douches at M&T Bank botching our ChexSystem Report up with "account abuse". Please post ASAP results of whether ING push is considered DD as SFpuppy said - can't trust 1 result. Thanks.

They sent a denial letter stating the ChexSystem was used and we were denied because of "account abuse". I'm just assuming that it was M&T, because they're the only ones that haven't been an easy sign up, receive the sign-up bonus, wait however long I needed in order to avoid closure fees, and then close without any issues. Plus, I wasn't quite the nicest with the voicemails left for Regina at M&T when she had locked my account and never would call me back. Plus, she closed the duplicate accounts for the reason of "signing up for multiple accounts for one individual". I'd say it's a pretty safe bet with the crap I caught from them.

Were they accurate in their assessment of multiple accounts for bonuses? I know jackcrawfish did something like 8 accounts between himself and his wife. That seems like clear account abuse to me.
Anybody else having trouble setting up DD with Rt number 064201832? It works fine when I link up my other accounts, but the online direct deposit form from my employer isn't accepting it.

can anyone confirm this offer...the refer page is not found on the main bank website...i'm concerned this is legit...you have to mail in a certificate to a po box...sounds strange
how do we know referlive is associated with this bank?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when I signed up for this, I'm pretty certain there was an ad on the bank's own site which connected to the referlive site. I don't see the ad anymore on the bank's site, so I have a feeling the promotion is over for new customers.
My question: Strange!! We have recieved 3 certificates. Two for me, one for my mom. I only opened one account during the promotion in March. Tried to invite my mom once, but she did not open an account. Does anyone know, if I mail in 3 certificates, would I get 3*$100 gift cards? The gift card that I already got was not issued by Greenbank itself, but some other company. Will the isssuer double check with greenbank? Thanks in advance.
