Yea I couldn't read the fine print, I was just going to my Dime Account and noticed they just started this promo today and figured I would put it here.
It says "There are neither account minimum balance nor balance time requirements to obtain the bonuses. If you close your account within 6 months of the opening date, any bonuses paid will be deducted at the time of closing"
I just tried calling them, the voice mail message has such an obnoxious new york accent. Doesn't seem promising.

Contradictory? Keep your account open for 6 months with a $1 balance. Though you'll probably want $5000 in there to avoid the $15/mo fee.
Keep this in mind: Direct Deposit Requirement – Direct deposit of payroll, pension, or government benefits or use of Dime’s online bill payment services must be maintained each month to remain eligible for this account type. If this requirement is not maintained, you may be required to close the account upon 30 days written notice.
*Bonuses for Prime Dime Rewards Checking are $100 for account opening, $100 for setting up a monthly recurring direct deposit, and $100 for completing two Online bill payments. Bonuses for Dime Rewards Checking are $75 for account opening, $75 for setting up a monthly recurring direct deposit, and $75 for completing two Online bill payments. The bonus for account opening will be paid at the time of account opening. The additional two bonuses will be paid 6 months after the opening date if the direct deposit service is established and the bill payments are completed within 3 months of account opening. There are neither account minimum balance nor balance time requirements to obtain the bonuses. If you close your account within 6 months of the opening date, any bonuses paid will be deducted at the time of account closing. Bonuses will be paid for new checking customers only. New customers do not include any authorized signer on a current Dime checking account or one that may have been an authorized aigner on a Dime checking account in the past 3 months. Bonus accounts are limited to one per household. Promotion is in effect until 11/15/09. Dime reserves the right to modify or terminate this offer at any time. Employees of the Dime and its affiliates, and their family members, are not eligible. All bonus payments will be reported as interest on IRS Form 1099-INT. Please consult with your tax advisor regarding the reporting of these payments. This offer cannot be combined with any other Dime offer.
**Prime DIme Rewards Checking account interest rates and APYs vary with the balance. The rates and APYs are established at our discretion, are variable, and are subject to change at any time without notice or limit. Minimum deposit to open is $1 and the opening deposit is limited to $500,000. Offer is for personal (consumer) accounts only. There is a $15 monthly fee if the average daily balance falls below $5000. An average daily balance of $5000 is also required to avoid monthly foreign ATM transaction fees and for reimbursement of monthly ATM surcharges up to $10 per statement cycle. Fees may reduce earnings on this account.

Per the fine print, looks like you get the first $100 soon after sign-up, another $100 for setting up DD within three months, and a third $100 for two online billpays within three months; however, the $200 won't be credited until six months after sign-up.
kaaria said: okay so $15 * 6 months = $90 but you get $300 in bonuses. Net profit =$210?
Don't forget Uncle Sam, he gets his cut. Your basis for interest is the full $300, not $210. This isn't like an early withdrawal penalty on a CD where you can deduct that from your declared interest.

$200 for $5000 over 6 months = 8%. Pretty good. Why would you not put the full $5000 in.
So put in 5K, get $300 plus $13 interest. That's about a 13% APY for 6 months... seems like a good deal.

They said that they will do a hard credit inquiry in the application via eFunds. What's that?

Just spoke with a csr who took all my info and will have one of two ladies (who work in the new acct opening dept) call me back today or Monday. The csr said that the two bill payments (free service online) is actually required in each of the 1st 3 months after acct opening to trigger the 2nd phase of the bonus; doubt many will do the DD phase so the bill pmts are the one to focus on. Speaking of the latter, I think the fine print makes it seem like only 2 bill pmts needed within 3 months but it's more like 6 total bill pmts. I bet the pull is definitely a little stronger than "soft" but I doubt it's a full blown "hard". I did a little more research on this bank and they seem to be 100 legit as they're traded on the NASDAQ under ticker DCOM. Oh and you will have to fax in a copy of your driver's license and either a gas/utility bill or most current credit card statement showing your physical address. All in all, seems like a nice little find so thanks to RS4'kissda'Rings for this

Did you ask if we need to do DD on the first 3 months as well? Or can we start on the 3rd month?

how to understand "Bonus accounts are limited to one per household."

turrdog..... yes the direct deposit has to be payroll social security stuff like that can't be bank to bank transfers
Can anyone please confirm or deny whether they had a hard pull? A Dime Bank CSR told me there would be no credit check, but apparently another CSR has been telling folks contradictory info.

Same here. Got this in reply to my message: Category: Transaction Inquiry Subject: RE:Transaction Inquiry for transaction PRIME DIME PROMO Me: As per The signup bonus. Shouldn't this have been a $200 bonus? Message: Dear bittul, Our records show, that there was no qualified Direct Deposits on your account. There was several transfers for multiple financial institutions. However there were no Payroll Direct Deposits.
